Chapter 4409: The Rift II
Chapter 4409: The Rift II
"It started,"
Somebody said softly, but I didn’t even look at them.
My focus is on the rift that had started forming, and the new windows of data that started to appear in front of me.
A small tear appeared in the sky. It is tiny, the size of a needle point, but the spatial energy around it is so strong that it could tear me apart in an instant.
The tear remained as such for a few seconds before it began to expand by going up.
The way the tear is forming, it looks like someone is making a deep cut with a knife on the taut skin. This is why this is called skinning.
It moved up slowly, with the rift getting bigger every second.
Soon, it had reached the height of one meter, but it still kept moving up, becoming bigger and bigger. Reaching ten meters by the end of the minute.
Even then, it didn’t stop and kept moving up.
Reaching twenty, thirty, forty meters, and even then, it kept moving up, becoming bigger.
A few minutes later, it had reached a hundred meters, but even then, it didn’t stop. It continued to move up, tearing more space as it did.
It continued for seventeen more minutes before finally stopping.
"This time it is slightly different; last time, it was one hundred and thirty-three meters," said Prime Avana, looking at the rift.
This is the average size of the rift that appeared.
Its smallest recorded was ninety-eight meters, while the longest was one hundred and sixty-seven. This one is one hundred and twenty-seven meters.
I looked at it and could see the churning power inside that, that would grind even the strongest prime to ashes.
It had done it before, and it will do it now.
Still, despite that, I could see a willingness to step inside the rift in the eyes of people, especially when the connection to the outside becomes visible.
One could easily see that a rift could lead one outside. We could see outside through the rift every few seconds.
Every time, the place would be different. Meaning, the rift isn’t locked to one place.
The energies came out of the rift and covered the area around it. Most aren’t even powerful enough to cross that, much less step inside.
I looked at the data, and most of which is expected, but it still shook me. Getting out of here would be extremely hard, but I will find a way.
I was looking at data findings while making changes to the four sensors based on it before I sent them into the rift, when something surprising happened.
A beastman prime of black stallion race walked toward the rift.
"Prime Nomos, stop," said Prime Karamiv. Stopping him with his energy. Priem Nomos is strong, but not as strong as one of the strongest.
"Let me go, Prime Karamiv." He said with eyes filled with resolve.
"Nomos, it is suicide," said Prime Rava as she appeared. He is also a healer, not as good as her, but still good.
"Please don’t stop me. I have lived in this prison for over seven centuries, but I do not anymore." Said the man, shaking his head.
I could see many people sighing, seeing that, and many are on the verge of doing the same.
Primes live a long life, and many chase that stage for it, but in this place, that long life is unbearable. That many had chosen to end their life this way.
There is no way he could get out. Even the house couldn’t bear that ravaging spatial energies, much less him.
"Have hope, we will get out of this place," said Karamiv, but the man simply laughed, hearing that. "It’s not going to happen, Prime Karamiv; this place where we will die," he replied.
People didn’t even shudder; many simply nodded.
"I don’t think so," I said, surprising myself. Immediately, everybody turned to me, including Nomos. "Many people were confident, like you, Prime Arys, but all have failed." The man replied.
"They may have, I won’t," I replied, and people laughed.
"I have crossed worlds, Prime Nomos. I will cross this rift too, and it won’t take me more than a few years."
"I will tell you now, when the rift comes next time, I will have a safe way to get out of this prison," I stated, with a voice full of confidence, that I am not feeling in my heart.
"You have waited for hundreds of Nomos, stop for a few more years,"
"I will not stop you next time, whether Prime Arys is ready or not with his method," said Karamiv.
There was a silence before the man sighed.
"Fine," he replied. The next moment, he flew down toward the village, while Prime Karamiv and others turned to me.
"You have once more lit up the fire of hope in our hearts, Prime Arys. I will you will succeed and get us out of damn place," he said.
"I will try my hardest, Prime Karamiv," I replied. The man nodded before turning to the rift.
"You have put quite a pressure on yourself," said Prime Avana. I didn’t reply to that, other than smiling.
I focus back on my sensors, they are collecting the data rapidly. I move a few of them closer, into the raging spatial covering the rift.
It surprised some, but my sensors bore them.
Though I could see the immense pressure they are under and how these raging spatial energies want to tear them apart. They will not.
I have studied the data and made it strong enough that it could bear it.
Soon, over an hour passed, and I got the data I needed for the next stage.
A moment later, four things came out of me. There are four sensors of pale blue color, bearing different shapes, not a single one bigger than a palm.
I had made the necessary changes, and its time I test them.
These are the most important. I am going to put them inside the rift, in the most dangerous place, with one of them at the centre.
It will be hard for me to get a signal from it. So, not only will these sensors have to go inside the rift, but also survive until they collect all the data, and return in one piece.
Nothing has been able to do that until now, not even a person.
