Chapter 4067: Investigate

"Sky Sovereign," greeted a blue-haired woman as I landed in front of her.

She is a tall woman, beautiful with red scales and a horn over her head.

She is an Earth Sovereign, responsible for guarding the sphere and watching its progress, along with stopping any Earth Sovereign that is trying to enter inside.

"No, not a single one," she replied.

"Any spikes?" I asked. "Only small ones; not a big one like it before," she replied and handed me the chart.

"I will be going inside. Keep everyone out, like you have been doing before," I said to her and walked toward the dome.

"Be careful, Sky Sovereign," said the woman. I nodded and kept walking.

Soon, I was only a step away from it. When I took a step forward and entered the room.

The first thing, I felt was hot.

Boiling, it made my expressions turn bad because the temperature here is hot enough that Earth Sovereigns would barely be able to bear it.

I looked around and saw the marshy ground had dried up, while the trees which should have been burned had turned purple.

They had even to be covered with purple crystals that were shining like a star.

I carefully touched one and sent the waves inside and what I saw couldn't help but make my eyes widen.

I immediately sealed my armor further. I can not let this energy enter inside me. It could change the very cells of the beings.

a few bottles appeared in my hand, and I collected a few samples from the tree and of the energy in the air and the ground.

The changing of cells by energy isn't strange, but it takes a long time.

If a large number of energies filled such an area. Then the organisms around it react to it. If it is dangerous, most do, but some survive it.

Those who survive it change, but these changes happen across the generations.

While this tree had been here for decades, it had been changed within weeks, a few months at most.

Those really powerful infiltrating types of energies could do something like this, and I feel like there is more. I will have to look carefully, which my clone will do, while I look for the survivors.

I moved forward while sending my discreet soul waves to look around.

A few seconds, when the wave returned, my eyes widened, but I kept my emotions under control.

Things are worse than I had thought, but I still hope, some survivors would remain.

I moved cautiously and slowly, but my speed was not that slow. I am moving quite fast, compared to most Sky Sovereigns who would have moved in my place.

A few minutes passed, and I stopped. A few seconds later, a wolf sped past me. Seeing it with my eyes, my expressions couldn't help but turn serious.

Its skin had turned light purple and purple crystals could be seen around me, but it was not what made me serious.

It's the power.

It is a Sky Sovereign and not the initial one, but a Mid-one. It is one of the weakest, seeing I had spotted a couple of peak ones.

It is kind of shocking. Considering all the monsters in the marsh are Sovereigns.

There are only a few Earth Sovereigns, while the ones that went past me are Sky Sovereigns. Even the monster I had spotted here is a Sky Sovereign.

I had not spotted even a single Sovereign monster. Forget a Sovereign, I didn't see even a single Earth Sovereign.

Things are dangerous in this place. Even my excitement had calmed down and I began to move with the single thought of finding the survivors only.

I took one step after another, going deeper and deeper into this massive place.

It is a simple dome of fifty kilometers. It is something much bigger that I might need to spend

a few days in this place.

There is another thing. This place is a maze.

Things are changing spatially. Making it hard for one to move forward and it seemed

completely random.

I don't think it is artificial. It is happening, randomly, which is good news and bad news. Good news because no-one with nefarious intentions controls it.

The bad is because since nobody is controlling. It is completely random and thus hard to

predict.

Here, I would need to move according to its whips. I cannot predict the pattern and move accordingly.

Which is what escaped those who wanted to escape the near impossible. Since one would need to know the exit to leave and here it is, ever changing.

A few minutes passed, and a crystal ball appeared in my hand.

I placed it on the ground, and it began to move according to the command, I am sending it to

it with my soul waves.

I am sending it out.

They needed to know the details of what was happening inside.

Now, another objective added to the level of first. I have to find the source of energy; something is releasing the energy, and I wanted to know what it is.

A few minutes later, I took another turn.

I may have taken a turn, but in simple terms. I am walking straight.

I am changing my path according to the changes in this random maze. They are quite sudden

and fast, but I could predict them two to three seconds before they came.

It may be impossible to predict the pattern of this random maze, but it could be predicted

when changes are coming.

It's quite easy with my spatial sensitivity.

I am trying to increase the time of predictions. Currently, I can only do it two to three seconds

before it happens.

It would be great if I could manage to see the signs sooner than that.

Five seconds would be great. It would give me a much better freedom.
