Monster Breeder
225. The Battle of Five-ish Armies, Part 10 [Bonny]
Team Canine Crushers (Bonny)
Jets of water pummel the female wolf while Ariella jabs her trident into canine flesh repeatedly. Still, they're only Second Tier monsters. Neither attack seems to bother the wolf too much. No, I been tell the Bitch is about to break them. There's a glint of victory in the canine monster's eyes while preparing a final twist of the neck to snap that claw like a twig.
"Hit her with an explosion," Gabby instructs while an aura of Earth Magic blooms at the tip of her wand. Now that we have Moka, the Dust Bunny can supply the fuel while I ignite the cloud, letting our Witch focus on a different mode of offense. The combo is weaker than before with neither of us able to manipulate Third Tier spells, but sometimes a surprise is all that's needed.
A small detonation interrupts the Bitch's work, sparing the crab's claw from her wrath for another second. Our flames sadly can't do more than toast the wolf's fur without Gabby aiding the working because of that insane canine Toughness. However, we do set my poor wooden broomstick minions covering her on fire. No matter how tough she is, the Alpha Bitch can't survive long in the middle of a bonfire; she'll have to get out of there soon.
An Earth pillar erupts from the ground beneath the Alpha's throat, forcing her to release the crustacean from her mouth and lean aside. That's the Witch's first move.
The Alpha Bitch shakes off the burning sticks with contempt, shrugs off all the damage we've inflicted, and goes in for a bite on Ariella this time. Massive jaws close on a bronze shaft instead, the Mermaid holding on to her trident with both hands to keep the great wolf at bay.
Gabby spends more time on her next working, deconstructing and elevating a Snow Bunny spell while combining it with Harpy Matron Air Magic. I can tell, she's run the numbers in her head and decided to invest her effort here. It's my turn to support her!
"Get the Bitch wet," I yell at the Merfolk, then turn to Moka, "Concentrate on her head!"
I do what I can, emulating Rainbird magic the way my Mistresses taught me. It's the enchantments on my conical, starry hat that allow me to sense the appropriate threads of magic and my spell-work gloves that let me pluck them from the air. Using everything I've learned from quiet observation, I manipulate and manifest a mental image into existence.
Dust plumes around the Bitch's head courtesy of Moka, getting in her eyes and nose. Rain pours on her back while streams of sea water from the Mermaid's allies soak her front and sides. Slobber runs in rivulets from clenching jaws that visibly dent the bronze trident. Her fur is heavy with moisture and clings to her skin. Then a powerful, frigid wind blasts her from above.
Ice forms all across her drenched fur coat. She realizes what's happening and tries to flee, but too late. Kani the crab monster has her gripped in both pincers, eight legs anchored in the freezing mud. Cold saps her strength as it sinks into her body. Soon, even lifting her paws is a struggle to break the ice.
Ariella rips her trident from the wolf's mouth, lifting it high while aiming the trio of points at the Bitch's vitals. With a shout of exultation, the Mermaid prepares to bring her weapon down and execute her foe...
Wait, that's not exultation! Ariella is screaming in agony as I spot the fletching of an arrow sprouting from the Mermaid's arm. Where did that come from?!? She drops her weapon and clutches her wound.
Shouts of surprise, anger, and pain ring out around us. What's going on?
Arrows pepper the Fairy Bubble shield protecting us, their shafts arrested mid-flight halfway through penetrating the barrier. We're under attack! Gabby switches focus from attacking the Bitch to erecting more Persistent Spell effects that can protect the three of us on her broom.
A dozen of Flou's First Tier Cores shatter in rapid succession as a wave of arrows target key areas on her spears. Olindia really looks like a sea urchin with how many 'quills' are sticking out of her floating jellyfish mantle. Harpies are falling left and right with arrows impaling their wings making it impossible for them to fly.
The entire flow of the battlefield has reversed in an instant. Our Canine opposition doesn't stop to question their fortune, they simply take advantage of the new situation. No hesitation.
The remainder of my broomstick army goes from harassing the Pack to defending the helpless Harpies. It's all the walking twigs can to do to throw themselves into the Dire Wolves' jaws and prevent the enemy from savaging the flightless birds.
Olindia descends, resigning herself to absorbing damage again instead of dishing it out. She can take a beating, and her healing aura can repair damage to or replace Flou's Second and Third Tier Cores (just not the army of First Tier Cores), as they're considered part of the ruby Slime's body by the magic that governs such distinctions.
The Red bunny girl herself is in rough shape after that targeted assault. Without the ability to replace her First Tier Cores, she can't utilize the main strength of her Swarm evolution. She's fighting her hardest with the number of smaller Cores she has remaining, but the wolves are pushing through the pain to whittle away at the Slime Solidarity duo.
Between the Night Howler and the Beta, Delta, and Epsilon wolves, they have the numbers and speed to leverage pack tactics. They dart in and out before either Slime girl can retaliate in force, never committing to more than a nibble or a slash of their claws. The result is that the girls are bleeding mass while the wolves take minimal damage. Olindia's healing aura just drags things out on both sides.
Shockingly, Steelheart, the Omega, and the wolves lured into their orgy by pheromones are unaffected by the rain of arrows. Why do they get the exception?
The Alpha Bitch, on the other hand, seems to have been handed salvation on a silver platter. With Ariella and Gabby distracted by the surprise attack, the Bitch is able to shatter the ice shell imprisoning her with one powerful flex. She then shakes off the frozen shards and springs into action. Our crab monster ally is too slow to turn as the Bitch darts forward under the pincers, wedging her head under the crustacean's carapace. With explosive effort, the Alpha Bitch's claws sink into the ground as she give a mighty heave-ho.
Ariella, the water bubble, and the three subordinate sea monsters all go tumbling as the Alpha Bitch throws her considerable maximum effort into flipping the big crab. The result is a massive splash followed by a wave rolling out in all directions when the clam monster loses concentration on maintaining the liquid sphere.
The shark monster is standing a moment later, but the tentacled monster, the clam, and Ariella herself are having trouble on dry land. Our Mermaid ally drags herself around the upside-down crab to put herself between the Bitch and her subordinates. It's an admirable sight, and I wish we could help, but Gabby has steered our flying broomstick into an ascent.
Adjusting her spectacles and conical hat, the Witch says, "We have to identify this new threat. That's the priority."
I can't argue. The wolves may be okay with fighting on blindly, but who's to say the enemy won't turn on them next? I've never heard of an allied tribe supporting the Canines.
Much higher in the air, we easily spot the source of this mess. I can even make out the words they're saying.
"Great work, Moonbow. Now that the Wolf Lord is preoccupied, let's make our entrance."
A Pegasus with short-cropped, white hair lands on the ground, bow held at her side with a quiver of arrows strapped to her back. She has pale grey fur on her equine flanks mostly covered by her streamlined, silver-trimmed blue dress that covers her modesty. She's lithely muscled with sizable breasts that look even larger on her slim humanoid upper body. Scratch that, the five equine figures approaching from behind to stand at her side all have bigger boobs.
The first is a chestnut Centaur with a ponytail of blonde hair, a tartan skirt, and a white blouse that strains to contain her assets. I think her knockers would squash me flat if she dropped them on me! Also, she has the most muscle mass of the lineup, though not to the point of seeming bulky—just attractively ripped.
The second is a Centaur with fluffy pink hair and a ridiculously poofy pastel-pink dress covering blue roan flanks. She's the curviest of the mares with a cute tummy and deep cleavage.
The third is an ebony-skinned Centaur with white fur and her dark hair styled in pristine ringlets. She's wearing a purple-and-white pleated dress that barely contains her ripe mammary melons. To my shock and fear, she has a Cactus woman tied to her saddle! It's a multi-headed, prickly pear plant girl whose faces are each masked with leather and gagged with a bit. The green woman has been made to hold a sparkling, bedazzled parasol (her hands are bound to the grip with leather) to provide the Centaur with shade.
They all have bows in hand, a quiver on their backs, and a coil of rope at their sides.
At the front of the formation stands... a Unicorn. While not quite a true 'Mythic' monster, the Unicorn holds a special place in scary stories told to young Rodent-kin. If the tales are true, their magical prowess is only matched by the size of their cocks and their lust for virgin pussy.
Her black and silver-trimmed dress almost entirely covers her flanks and the dapple-grey fur of her equine rear down to the ankles with her three-plait braided horsetail passed through a hole in the fabric bearing a dozen beautiful black bows. This purple-haired Unicorn gallops to the front, a massive pair of breasts larger than cantaloupes bouncing in her heavy-duty balconette brassiere as she goes. She doesn't wield a bow, but I doubt she needs one.
Last in line, but by no means least, is a yellow dun Centaur with a flogger in hand. She possesses an effortless beauty that becomes more attractive the longer I stare. There's a sweetness, or perhaps compassion in her eyes that the others lack. Her expression even shows some apprehension as she surveys the battlefield.
This woman has long, flowing pink hair and a green dress with a leather corset. While her outfit is somewhat plain compared to the others, that only highlights the fact her bosom puts the others to shame. She must need that corset for support or else they'd snap her spine like a twig! Additionally, she's carrying the only companion monster that isn't tied down.
Perching on her back is a bunny boy wearing a form-fitting black leather suit from tip to toe with decorative buckles and tassels dangling free. His hands are tied behind his back, though the loose straps hanging in the air about him act like tentacle arms. A whiffle-ball gag occupies his mouth, and his ears stick out, but the mask covering his head blinds his eyes. The only thing uncovered is his bare bottom, as even his cock is trapped in a chastity cage.
Having read about Centaur-type monsters in Gabby's book, I have an idea of how screwed we are.
Book of Monsters Entry – Centaurian Outrider: Equine monster. 3rd Tier, Above-Average Rank, Tier-Promoted. The harbingers of a powerful Equine monster. Originally a common Second Tier Centaur Hunter, this Equine has been inducted into the sisterhood of an advanced monster society. Each is granted a special ‘Talent’ upon coming of age. While individually weak, these Talents show their power through variety, specialization, and the ability to share their boons with allies. Mono-sex species, hermaphroditic. Their equipment loadout is dependent on the Talents of their squad.
Subtypes —
Centaurian Pegasus Outrider: Equine monster. 3rd Tier, Superior Rank, Tier-Promoted. Originally a Second Tier Pegasus Hunter. They use their flight capabilities to further leverage the Talents granted by their squad. Brings to mind the phrase, 'adding wings to a tiger.'
Centaurian Unicorn Outrider: Equine monster. 3rd Tier, Arcane Rank, Tier-Promoted. Originally a Second Tier Unicorn Hunter. Their horn provides a casting focus that allows them to perform Dark Magic spells and power Rituals. As with every Arcane monster, any lack of capabilities is a 'skill issue.'
In other words, we're very screwed indeed. And then it gets worse.
