Monarch of Darkness, Arsene

Chapter 894 First Battle

“Thank the Abyss,” I praised as these two brothers vanished.

“So Aurelia has a Forsaken Bloodline,” Truck-kun uttered in a solemn voice I’d not heard before, “Strange, how no one has ever made that connection. Does Zariel know? He should know; he’s got the Eyes of The Myriad Heavens; there shouldn’t be anything he can’t see.”

“Little sis?” I gently called. As the young lass peeped up at me with curious eyes, “let it go. He probably knows but never said anything for a reason. He’s not even told me about my Mother yet. I guess your the same?”

She nudged her head.

“Leave it be for now. Upon my return to the fold, the nut shot war will begin, and it shall be the day that bastard tells us everything,” I promised with utter conviction.

He will pay for his sins against the crown.

Beaming with a smile once more, I ruffled her hair a bit, peering up to the new sun with a long-expression. “He’s got a lot of secrets, doesn’t he.”

“Hmm, he does.”

Feeling the menacing eye of Lara upon my head as she glared, I merely smiled at the slight delay of the food.

“So, you know Lucifer?”

“Zena isn’t the only one who knows people.” I teased, enjoying our little time before Valice appeared, pushing out a food tray on wheels. Her sharp eyes leveled on Lara, and she shook her head.

“How much did she tell you?” she asked in a knowing tone, almost like she had dealt with this before.

“I heard about how you all fucked up in protecting Zena.”

Valice sighed, ” We weren’t in power then. But I was there to witness Zena’s rampage. Lara and I took her in before heading to the Monastery. But it was hard and far different from what I went through. Zena’s back was wholly deformed, her face scarred beyond recognition, leaving only her hollow eyes. It took about a hundred years before she was no longer a walking husk. A thousand years before she grew a personality and a hundred thousand before she came into herself. That girl has been through some shit.”

“And throughout everything, it was you two who stood by her. Odd, I would have assumed you didn’t know her. Why—”

“I was once a slave. Beaten and tormented for years, I had the know-how to escape. Zena didn’t. She was a child who could not read, write, or talk. Her mind was conditioned only to know how to work. Even after the City of Wyves was destroyed. Zena returned to the Ether Mines through a river of blood like nothing had happened and continued her work. I helped her because I knew this could have been me.”

“And I because of pity. And because I knew the name Le Fay was twisted by some of the leaders within the Monastery. They still connect him to the Holder of the Second Sin.”

Recalling the Monolith within the Kafiea Mountains, I chuckled as the image of Zariels silvery head appeared in my mind.

“Let me guess. He went by the name Blackwater?” I said.

“It was one of his many names. ” Lara added, setting a plate for herself, “But he pulled Morgana Le Fay in, turning what was evil into something demonic. Worlds burned by her hands alone, causing a sea of flames to spread across the galaxy till only her laughter was left. The surname Le Fay already held a negative stain due to the Progenitor, but Morgana Le Fay personified it. There was no greater evil than her alongside the silver devil and Golden Phoenix.”

“Due to her bloodthirsty nature, many believe Morgana Le Fay was the reincarnation of the Progenitor. And with the rumors of Zena being her instrument of destruction, her life only got harder as she had to deal with assassinations one after the other, alongside lusty men wishing to plant their seed.”

So we’ve got a badass airhead. Nice.

“I stood by her side not just because it was my duty but because I believed she needed me. However, she wasn’t stealing my food back then. Big bully!” Lara cried, stuffing her face with a Chicken Wing the size of her head.

Listening to the crunch as she broke through the crunchy scarlet exterior towards the juicy center, my stomach roiled as I began to plate some food.

“Oh, yeah, almost forgot. Valice, when is my first match? I have an announcement to make.” I said as her eyes began to glow.

“You don’t mean.”

“Yeah, sending assassins after me, then these foul angels. The Second Consort needs to die. And what better place to announce such a thing than in a stadium full of fans? Will your husband mind?”

“I’ll handle him. A little food, a little sex, a little submissiveness, and he’ll forget in a few seconds; men are easy to deal with.”

“…”

Am I that easy to deal with? Although I don’t mind a more submissive Lilith, that woman is just too unruly. I know she caught wind of Lucifer’s anger, yet she did nothing. I wonder what a submissive Lilith would look like?

Maid dresses, cat ears—

“Your drooling. Disgusting.” Valice uttered as I rolled my eyes.

“Please, I have a wife, way cuter than you! But far too strong will. No matter what I do, it seems like I’m her bitch sometimes. Although the times I win are just so sweet.”

Valice chuckled, ” Now that’s a woman I’d like to meet. But you’ve got a match today, but it’s later tonight, under the eyes of everyone. Even the angels will be watching. They are pissed.”

“Why? I haven’t done anything to them!” I exclaimed. 𝑜𝑣𝘭.𝘯𝑡

“…”

“…”

“You killed three of their men in cold blood,” Valice mentioned.

“Show me proof. It’s hearsay until you’ve got a murder weapon or a shred of video evidence. They were there when I found there…”

“Mr. Blackwater, I recorded the whole thing. Everyone saw you kill them. You even glanced at me.”

Blanking out for a moment, I batted my eyes, “Oh. I forgot. Well damn. Then it was self-defense!”

“Ok, first off, you’re not in trouble, but there is a chance they might sneak attack you during your match. I suggest you wear some armor.”
