Chapter 59: Chapter 59: Novice Protection Period

Gu Qingyin was carefree and eating heartily, but the Lin Family Siblings and the mother-son duo of Lin Xiaoyun and Huo Zhao Hua were getting restless.

Lin Xiaoyun was the first to stand up, urging, "Zhao Hua, let’s go fishing first. You’re experienced, so you can teach Mom."

Huo Zhao Hua was indeed quite full from breakfast, and he silently stood up at her words.

The next second, Lin Tian pulled Lin Xian and darted past him.

Huo Zhao Hua paused. He looked at Lin Xiaoyun with a calm expression and said coolly, "Let’s go."

Lin Xiaoyun shot him a subtle glare before turning and walking away.

Huo Zhao Hua showed no extra reaction and slowly followed her.

Gu Qingyin, who was still at the table eating, saw everything clearly. ’Something seems a little off,’ she thought, ’but I can’t put my finger on what it is. It’s just a feeling.’

She didn’t dwell on it and sped up her eating.

"Let’s split up," Gu Qingyin instructed. "You go pick out two fishing rods first. I don’t know anything about them, so pick one for me."

"Okay. Take your time eating, there’s no rush." After speaking, Huo Xinghai left the cabin.

And so, Gu Qingyin was left alone in the cabin with a table full of food. As she ate, she suddenly looked straight at the camera and said, "Welcome to the food livestream! I’m your host for today, Little Gu."

Not only the on-site staff but also the livestream chat fell silent for a moment. Then, the bullet comments exploded like a geyser, either spamming "Hahaha" or calling her a psycho.

After she finished speaking, Gu Qingyin unhurriedly continued to eat. While eating, she described the texture and flavor of the food, casually mentioned the price, and ended with a disdainful pout. "The value for money is so-so. I don’t recommend buying it."

After taking her last bite, Gu Qingyin wiped her mouth clean, finished the last sip of her juice, and gave the camera an elegant smile. "Today’s livestream is now over. Thank you all for joining me. Goodbye."

The staff members in front of her couldn’t help but laugh, wondering what had gotten into her all of a sudden.

Gu Qingyin left the cabin and went to the deck to find Huo Xinghai, only to be told that he had already taken the fishing rods to go fishing.

Gu Qingyin circled around half the boat and found Huo Xinghai on the port side. He had already cast his line.

Sea fishing is a bit different from regular fishing. You have to keep tugging the line to attract the attention of undersea creatures. The ocean floor is rich with life, and fish like to eat fresh things, but you can’t tug too fast—rhythm is very important.

Less than two meters from Huo Xinghai, Huo Zhao Hua was teaching Lin Xiaoyun. Further down were the Lin Family Siblings, fumbling on their own. Both were fishing newbies who didn’t even know how to bait a hook, and they were scratching their heads in frustration.

Gu Qingyin retracted her gaze and walked over to Huo Xinghai. "We can fish this quickly? Don’t we have to wait for the boat to stop?"

Huo Xinghai smiled a little sheepishly. "It’s been a while since I’ve fished. Just trying to get the feel for it again." The moment he finished speaking, his eyebrows shot up. He gripped the fishing rod with both hands and expertly began to play the fish.

"You got a bite?" Gu Qingyin was a little excited. "That was so fast!" The bit of unease she felt from eating too much immediately dissipated.

Her voice wasn’t quiet, and the others couldn’t help but gather around to watch.

Huo Xinghai remained completely undisturbed. Following his own rhythm, he played the fish while reeling in the line, and in no time, he had pulled it up.

It was a grouper, a little longer than a grown man’s forearm. It was very plump; you could tell it usually ate very well.

"How heavy is it? And how much can it sell for?" Gu Qingyin’s eyes were shining; she wished she could weigh it on the spot.

Huo Xinghai was also very happy. "Let’s not worry about that now. Put it in the cooler. We’ll sell them all together later."

Lin Xian was incredibly envious. He came over and said, "What a great start! How did you do that? Can you teach me?"

Of course, Huo Xinghai wasn’t stingy. He smiled gently. "Bring your rod over. I’ll teach you."

Lin Tian let out a shriek, turned, and ran off excitedly. With an expert carrying them, she wouldn’t have to worry about her expenses on the boat anymore!

Never mind the others, even Lin Xian himself was startled. He gave a dry laugh. "Sorry, she’s just a little excited."

Gu Qingyin took a step forward, pushing Lin Xian aside. "I know your sister is excited, but tell her to calm down. If you want to learn how to fish, get in line."

Lin Xian was speechless. He took Lin Tian, who had run back with her fishing rod, and retreated a few steps. They didn’t go too far, however, making their intention to eavesdrop on the lesson all too obvious.

Gu Qingyin paid them no mind and began to learn with rapt attention, starting with getting to know the fishing rod, then baiting the hook, casting the line...

Gu Qingyin was a very serious student. While baiting the hook, she instinctively said a little prayer for luck.

"Do I pull the line like this?" Gu Qingyin asked.

[It’s been so long since the stream started, but this is the first time I’ve seen Sister Qing be this serious.]

[She wasn’t serious even when she was doing all those thrilling activities before, just excited.]

[No one can escape the allure of making money!]

The audience was still discussing it when Gu Qingyin suddenly let out a sound of surprise. "Huh? Why is it getting heavier?"

Huo Xinghai, who was teaching Lin Xian nearby, heard her and glanced over. His heart skipped a beat, and he hurried over. "A fish took the bait!"

Gu Qingyin was both shocked and delighted, then she started to panic. "What do I do? What do I do now?"

She tried to hand the fishing rod to Huo Xinghai, but he didn’t take it. Instead, he gave her a reassuring smile. "I’ll teach you. You do it yourself."

Gu Qingyin glanced at him and suddenly calmed down. "Okay. You give the orders."

Huo Xinghai said, "You don’t actually have to do much. Hold on to the rod. When you feel it get heavy, let out a little line, then pull the line after a few seconds. Repeat that a few times, and when you feel it’s ready, you can reel the fish in."

Gu Qingyin’s ability to follow instructions was excellent. Coupled with her incredibly sharp Spiritual Sense, she could even perceive the fish’s state through the line. She let out the line when it was taut and reeled it in when it went slack... After a few repetitions, she felt the fish had been tired out. She quickly reeled in the line and lifted the rod!

A large, silvery-white fish leaped out of the water, flopping its tail as it landed on the boat. It looked to be even a little bigger than the grouper from before.

"I did it!" Gu Qingyin laughed out loud, unable to hide her smugness. "I guess I’m pretty talented."

Huo Xinghai gave her a thumbs-up. "Extremely talented!"

Lin Xian was watching from the side, his eyes burning with envy. Just as he was about to speak, there was another SPLASH from beside them.

Turning his head, he saw that Huo Zhao Hua had also silently caught a fish.

Lin Xian instantly became even more anxious. A respectful address blurted out of his mouth: "Brother Hai! Help me!"

Huo Xinghai was taken aback for a moment, then slowly smiled. "Seeing as you’re so sincere."

The emergency fishing lesson for the Lin Family Siblings officially began.

Nearby, Gu Qingyin repeated her previous actions, once again saying a little prayer for her bait before casting her line.

It had only been in the water for a few seconds when Gu Qingyin’s eyes went wide and she let out a, "Huh?"

Everyone who looked over couldn’t help but be amazed.

Lin Xian was on the verge of a breakdown. "Sister Qing! Give a guy a break! Let me finish learning first!"

Huo Xinghai couldn’t help but sigh. "Beginner’s luck... it’s terrifyingly real."

Huo Zhao Hua gave Gu Qingyin a surprised look and said from the bottom of his heart, "Impressive."

Lin Xiaoyun also smiled and congratulated her on the surface, but inwardly, she was scoffing. ’Gu Qingyin must have known how to do this all along. How else could she learn so fast? She’s just trying to grab attention.’
