Chapter 962: Embracing the Void

Chapter 962: Embracing the Void

“Mngh…”

Feeling like he’d gone into a deep slumber, it took a while for Valyr to return to the waking world, giving his consciousness the time it needed to rouse itself.

Fortunately, it only took a couple of minutes at most for the young man to become fully awake, taking in a deep breath as he looked at his current surroundings.

‘Ah… right.’ Though a hint of confusion passed through his mind the moment he did so, Valyr immediately recalled what had transpired before he’d fallen asleep, letting out a faint sigh after he was done with his recollection.

Glancing at both Sellifer and Noel, the young man decided not to disturb them for the meantime after seeing the two engrossed in their respective introspections.

‘System, show me my status screen,’ thought Valyr to himself after that, prompting the system to bring up his stats in his mind.

Skipping all of the other parts of his status screen he’d already seen before while roaming around the Void World with Sellifer, the young man eventually laid his eyes on his Shadow Energy reserves, faintly smiling at the fruit of his efforts.

Ding!

Shadow Energy: 5,281/5,281

‘From just having a bit more than what was necessary to evolve my subclass, I now have enough Shadow Energy for me to consider it as an alternate energy source.’

Thinking about how Noel told him that he only needed to amass 3,000 points of Shadow Energy in order for him to swiftly obtain Void Energy, Valyr found it amusing that he’d amassed almost twice the figure.

Then again, the only reason why he’d been able to amass so much Shadow Energy in the past couple of days was thanks to his exposure with the Shadowsource, allowing him to obtain a greater amount of Shadow Energy while exerting a similar level of effort.

Adding on the fact that he defeated the Void Rabbits, which gave far more Shadow Energy than even the strongest beasts of the Shadow Plane, with relative ease, then it was no surprise that Valyr could reach the figure Noel gave him and more in just a few days.

‘If it were any other person doing this, they would probably take months at the earliest to amass the same amount of Shadow Energy,’ inwardly muttered the young man to himself, sensing that the two were slowly returning to reality.

‘At worst, they would take years to do the same thing, especially if they didn’t want to take risks.’

“You’re finally awake, Valyr.” Closing the status screen he brought up, Valyr ended his train of thought then and there as Sellifer glanced at him with a faint smile.

“Did I sleep for too long?” asked the young man back with a slightly apologetic smile, noticing that Noel was in the midst of returning to reality as well.

Sellifer shook her head in response. “Not really… though, even if you did, we wouldn’t have said anything since you did push your body to its limits against the Void Rabbits.”

“How long was I asleep for, then?” Giving the woman a faint smile of gratitude in response, Valyr followed the conversation up with another question.

“Roughly five to six hours,” replied Noel, taking some time to remove himself from his previous state of mind. “Anyways, how are you feeling, Valyr? Feeling better?”

Valyr became silent for a bit in response, faintly nodding some time after that. “I guess so. It could always be worse, after all.”

“I see.” Noel nodded at Valyr’s words.

Closing his eyes for a bit, the old man then looked at him with a solemn expression. “Since it seems like you’ve gotten enough rest, I suppose it’s time for us to proceed transforming your Shadow Energy to Void Energy?”

“Ah, yes.” Hearing those words, it was only then did Valyr feel like he’d finally become alert, faintly nodding as he faced his master of sorts. “What do I need to do, Elder Noel?”

“First, become more acquainted with the Shadow Energy within your body,” replied the old man as he extended out one of his hands.

Whoosh!

Then, out of nowhere, a wisp of Abyssal Energy appeared on top of it, overpowering the negative sensations that the blanket of darkness surrounding them radiated.

“Become familiar with the sensations it contains, for recognizing and controlling them will allow you to make use of it to its utmost limits.” Saying those words, Noel then imposed his will on the wisp, decreasing its power to where it turned into Void Energy.

After that, he moved his wisp around to and fro, allowing Valyr to realize that the old man’s Void Energy could meld with the blanket of darkness surrounding them if he wanted to.

With that, Noel returned the wisp back to its original position, only to decrease its power once more, turning it into a wisp of Shadow Energy.

Staring at the wisp of Shadow Energy for a bit, Valyr then watched Noel return the power he’d removed from the wisp, gradually elevating it to become Void Energy again.

Then, he elevated the state of the wisp once more, returning it to a wisp filled with the Abyssal Energy he deftly wielded.

Dispelling the wisp after seeing that Valyr had learned a couple of things from it, Noel continued with his explanation.

“Once you familiarize yourself with the sensations contained within your Shadow Energy, you must then allow your Shadow Energy to embrace the sensations coming from the darkness surrounding us.”

“By the time your Shadow Energy takes on a similar property to the blanket of darkness surrounding us, only the final step remains before you would get your hands on actual void

Energy.”

“And what step would that be, Elder Noel?” asked Valyr with a curious expression in response, prompting the old man to faintly smirk in response.

“Imprinting your will onto the energy itself.”

“By imprinting your will on it, it is only then can your Void Energy exist separately from the

Void Energy surrounding the Void World,” said Noel.

“What would happen if I don’t do it?” asked Valyr after that.

“Well, your Shadow Energy would still be considered Void Energy,” answered Noel.

“However, it would only have the power of true Void Energy once the sun sets back in

Veldanyr.”

“Only by imprinting your will on it could that issue be prevented.” Feeling like he was finished explaining everything Valyr needed to know, Noel took in a deep breath as he slowly

closed his eyes.

“I don’t need to go into the specifics of why that’s the case. As long as you succeed in turning it into Void Energy, everything will begin to make sense.”

“With that… I wish you the best of luck, Valyr.”

Sensing Noel focus his senses towards the depths of his inner self after that, Valyr scratched the back of his head for a bit before looking at Sellifer. “Are you going to return to what you

were doing as well?”

“I could,” replied Sellifer. “But there really isn’t much point in me continuing.”

“Plus, this is the first time I’ll be seeing someone transform Shadow Energy into Void Energy through their efforts,” she continued, prompting the young man to get into a comfortable

position after that.

“I’d rather watch you do that than return to what I was doing.” Saʀᴄh th NovelFull.net website on Ggl to access chapters of nvels early and in the highest quality.

“Well…” Thinking up of an answer to Sellifer’s words, Valyr eventually decided to end it on the first word, shrugging his shoulders as he slowly closed his eyes. Taking in a few deep breaths to calm his emotions, the young man then began to delve into the depths of his inner self, arriving at the vast realm where he’d formed his Prime Azure

Energy before in a matter of minutes.

Feeling the total level of control he had over the realm surge through his senses once more, Valyr went ahead and brought out all of the Shadow Energy into the vast realm, causing the dark space to be covered in a dark gray haze of sorts.

‘The first step is to familiarize myself with the sensations within my Shadow Energy.’ Going through the instructions Noel told him in his mind, Valyr went through them over and over as The extended his senses towards his Shadow Energy.

Whoosh!

Within an instant, he was bombarded by a large amount of emotions, all of which could be considered extremely negative in nature.

Death, despair, destruction, suffering, all of those were contained within the Shadow Energy he possessed, prompting the young man to make the decision to take things slowly as he did not want to overwhelm himself.

Yet, even though he was going through each sensation one by one, Valyr felt as if he was familiarizing himself with them at inconceivable speeds, causing the young man to pause what he was doing at some point from confusion.

‘What in the…?’ Wondering why he was familiarizing himself with the sensations with such ease, Valyr eventually came to the conclusion that the cause of his insane speed was either his exposure to the Shadowsource…

Or his exposure to the darkness surrounding the Void World.

‘It would be safe to assume that the Shadowsource also has effects on Void Energy since the Void World is part of the Shadow Plane,’ inwardly muttered the young man to himself. ‘However, there’s also the possibility that I’ve gotten used to the sensations that surrounded

me back when I decided to delve deep into the blanket of darkness,’ the young man continued dwelling in his thoughts. ‘That might be the reason why I’m making quick work of this.’

‘Either way, I should keep following the instructions Elder Noel told me, lest I mess

something up along the way.’

With that, the young man took a deep breath before refocusing his attention on the dark gray haze once more, continuing to familiarize himself with the various sensations in his Shadow Energy one by one.
