Chapter 687 The Second Of Three
Moving the arquebus and the things needed to fire it to the side for the meantime, Valyr made his way to the edge of the building and jumped down, cushioning his fall with a quick burst of wind.
Once more, he swiftly cleared all of the primitive humanoids within the vicinity, more or less doing the same thing he did in the east quadrant.
Seeing that the number of primitive humanoids that would enter the area he had cleared out was now pretty low, Valyr summoned the five boars from earlier, getting an up-close look as to how much they’ve grown.
After taking his time to summon all five boars, he then sent the same command he had sent to them earlier, which was to corral all of the primitive humanoids within the vicinity of the quadrant leader away from the latter.
With their heightened stats, it did not take long for the boars to understand what they needed to do, letting out snorts in response as they swiftly made their way towards the center of the west quadrant.
As for Valyr, after seeing that the boars were speedily heading towards the primitive humanoids, he hastily headed to the top of the building to get a better look at what the boars were doing.
Unsurprisingly, with their larger frames and higher stats, the boars were able to do more with less, attracting the attention of the primitive humanoids around the periphery of the center.
With the attention of those primitive humanoids piqued, the ones nearer to the quadrant leader would take notice of it and follow along, increasing the efficiency at which the boars removed the primitive humanoids.
Add on the fact that the five were working as a group, it did not take long for the five to move all of the primitive humanoids away from the center, allowing Valyr to proceed onto the next step.
‘That was close.’ Preparing the arquebus for firing, Valyr inwardly let out a faint sigh of relief as he thought back to the close call between the boars and the quadrant leader that happened earlier.
lightsΝοvεl ƈοm While the boars were corralling the primitive humanoids away from the area, the quadrant leader began to head towards the direction of one of the boars all of a sudden, which caused the boars to panic for a bit.
Fortunately, with a bit of quick thinking and a bit of reliance on their instincts, the boar that was close to the quadrant leader was able to avoid attracting the attention of the quadrant leader by hiding behind the frame of the many primitive humanoids it had attracted.
Of course, to be more than sure that the quadrant leader wouldn’t take notice of it, the boar then hid behind some of the buildings that separated it from the quadrant leader, inwardly letting out a wide sigh of relief after seeing the quadrant leader not pursue the matter any further.
“Let’s begin.” With the arquebus now armed for firing, Valyr took in a deep breath as he positioned himself close to the edge of the building, aiming the shot he would fire towards the quadrant leader’s forehead.
“[Intent Seed of Shadow Energy].”
“[Limit Break].”
“[Rage of the True Wyvern].”
“[Intermediate Fire Magic Style: Blazing Vigor].”
“[Refined Offense Aura].”
“…”
“[Full Burst]!”
Bang!
‘-191,845!!!’
Similar to what had transpired during the fight with the east quadrant leader, Valyr’s shot cleanly went through the west quadrant leader’s forehead, ending the first phase before the latter could even make a move.
‘That will probably never get old.’ Faintly smiling at the sight of the quadrant leader fall on its back, Valyr hurriedly stored the arquebus and its related items into the spatial bracelet before jumping down from the building.
Then, after a barrier of mana had protected the quadrant leader’s body while it was in the middle of powering up, Valyr went ahead and fought against it like he did the east quadrant leader.
However, unlike the east quadrant leader, whose combat style leaned towards magic, the west quadrant leader relied more on physical attacks.
Of course, whether the opponent used magical attacks, physical attacks, or both did not really matter to Valyr.
After all, the only difference was the fact that the fight would take longer.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Sending out both ultimate techniques and normal skills at the west quadrant leader, Valyr was able to quickly reduce the health of the west quadrant to a quarter of its maximum without giving the latter a chance to retaliate.
“Grraaaaaaggghhh!!!”
At that point, the quadrant leader was more than incensed, wanting nothing more than to land its strongest attack on the human before it.
With that, it circulated both mana and the energy of its Intent all throughout its body, only to condense all of it towards its four extremities.
Whoosh!
Propelled by both mana and the energy of its Intent, the quadrant leader charged towards Valyr with great momentum, confident that the strike it had prepared would land on the young man.
Seeing the young man continuing to stand in place even though it was about to attack, a faint yet arrogant smirk appeared on the edge of the quadrant leader’s lips as it sent both of its fists flying forward.
Watching its empowered fists creep closer and closer towards the young man, the smirk on the quadrant leader’s face turned into a maddened smile, feeling as if this one-sided fight was finally turning around to its advantage.
Yet, just as a small gap remained between its fists and Valyr…
“[Shadow Warp].”
“[Arcane Shadow Serpent Combat Style]…”
“[Dark Arcane Mirror].”
Swoosh!
Before the quadrant leader could react, Valyr’s entire body was instantly shrouded in a layer of Shadow Energy as he moved a fair distance backward.
Then, retrieving the spear on his back, he channeled both Shadow Energy and mana through it before slamming it on the ground with all of the strength he could muster.
Bang!
‘-85,048’
Taking over Valyr’s place, the dark barrier made direct contact with the quadrant leader’s empowered fists, reflecting the force contained within the attack back at the quadrant leader as it was sent flying in the air.
Thud.
Watching the quadrant leader land on the ground on its back, Valyr sucked in a deep breath of cold air as he knew how painful the fall might have been.
But just as he was wondering whether or not he would have to go through a third phase…
Ding!
