MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 668 Four Pillars: From The Brink Of Death

The more they thought about it, the more they felt like it was indeed the case.

After all, from a class rarity standpoint, the quadrant leader Valyr was fighting only had a Rare grade class, while everyone in their group had a Mythic grade class.

Though the quadrant leader made up for it by being classified as Ancient Elite tier, that did not mean that their group had no way to even the odds, considering how humans had access to subclass.

In fact, as they thought about their respective subclass, they gradually gained more and more confidence in themselves.

At some point, they had even become confident enough to think that they would be able to fight against a quadrant leader on their own without much problem.

With the number of titles and passive skills under their belt, the number of elixirs they had consumed, as well as all of the leveled skills that they had in their arsenal, the perspective of the four had undergone a massive shift after witnessing Valyr fight.

At the very moment they had realized this, all of the subconscious fears they had when it came to fighting a quadrant leader had completely vanished.

Instead, what replaced it was the burning desire to take Valyr’s place and fight against the quadrant leader themselves.

Now incredibly eager to fight against a quadrant leader after their leader had showed them the way, the four began to watch the fight from the perspective of gathering more information.

After all, some of them didn’t have the devastatingly strong skills Valyr had access to.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Though the quadrant leader sent attack after attack at the small being that had wounded it severely, the flames of rage that slumbered within it remained blazing hot.

After all, even though it had put all of its strength and dexterity into every attack to make sure its opponent would be caught off-guard, it was as if the latter could see the future, dodging them at the last possible moment he could.

‘Huh. And here I thought fighting against the quadrant leader would feel similar to fighting the aberrations in the Trial of Myriad Aberrations.’

Continuing to dodge both physical and magical attacks the quadrant leader sent at him, Valyr thought back to the trial he had cleared to enter the Gates of Awakening.

After all, with how the Trial of Myriad Aberrations needed him to slay groups of Divine Elite tier aberrations on his own for most of it, he had obtained a rough sense of how strong an opponent was.

With that, as he looked at the quadrant leader’s stats, he felt like it would be equal in strength to the aberrations during the middle of the trial.

However, reality had shown him just now that there truly was strength in numbers.

Compared to the Trial of Myriad Aberrations, Valyr felt that the difficulty of fighting against the quadrant leader was more or less equal to fighting against a group of 40 Ancient Elite tier aberrations at the peak of Rank 4.

‘Then again, it hasn’t even used any of its special moves yet,’ thought Valyr as he decided to stop prolonging the fight any further. ‘If it did, it might probably be equal to fighting against a hundred Ancient Elite tier aberrations.’

Whoosh!

Having avoided and deflected all of the quadrant leader’s attacks for the past ten minutes or so, the young man had obtained a considerable level of understanding on how it fought.

Utilizing this knowledge to his advantage, he waited for the quadrant leader to unleash yet another one of its attacks.

“Grraaggghhh!!!” Feeling like something during their fight had changed, the quadrant leader had interpreted this as its opportunity to strike, hurtling a few mana bolts towards Valyr as it lunged forward to attack.

“[Shadow Warp].” However, just as it thought all of its attacks would finally deal even a bit of damage towards its untouchable opponent, the young man turned into a cloud of Shadow Energy before disappearing from the quadrant leader’s vision.

Puchi!

Not long after, the quadrant leader felt a stinging pain on the back of its neck, prompting it to slowly around as it felt like its worst fears had been realized.

Through its gaze, it could see the opponent it had been trying to attack all this time looking at it with a calm expression.

Shifting its gaze downwards, the quadrant leader then noticed that its opponent was wielding a spear, its tip already having pierced through the layers of skin.

Though, just as it hoped for its opponent to retract its spear in order for it to get another chance to attack…

“[Arcane Shadow Serpent Combat Style].”

“[Strike of the Lightless Arcane].”

Bang!

‘-38,860!!!’

Coalescing both Shadow Energy and mana towards the spear’s tip, Valyr allowed the skill to unleash its wrath from within the quadrant leader, causing the latter’s body to explode in multiple chunks as the area had become dyed in a crimson red.

“Well, that was easier than I thought.” Taking in a few deep breaths to compose himself, the young man shook the blood that stuck on his spear before placing it on his back.

Then, letting out a faint sigh of relief, he looked at the others and gave them a thumbs-up.

“It seems there’s no need for us to team up, after all,” exclaimed Valyr as he let out a chuckle. “We’ll be able to complete our quests, no problem!”

At those words, the four nodded in agreement as they witnessed how their leader had basically engaged in a one-sided massacre against the north quadrant leader.

However, as they continued to look at their leader from afar, something had quickly caught their attention.

“Hmm? What’s wrong?” Taking note of their slightly terrified expressions, Valyr gradually shifted his gaze towards where the four were pointing as he soon began to frown.

‘Now that I think about it…’

‘Why haven’t I heard a notification yet?’

Wriggle…

As if it had waited for the question to pop up in his mind, the chunks that made up the quadrant leader’s body began to congregate towards a single spot as if they had made a mind of their own.

Sounding as if someone was squishing raw meat with their hands, the chunks gradually fused with one another, returning the quadrant leader back to how it looked before it fought against Valyr.

Not only that, but the blood that had splattered all over the place had made its way back to the quadrant leader’s body as well, leaving no trace of the earlier fight’s conclusion whatsoever.

Feeling the aura emanating from the quadrant leader’s body gradually return to what it was before he had fought it, Valyr began to move back as he felt it gradually grow stronger.

“[Superior Analysis].” Frowning as a barrier of mana passively appeared around the quadrant leader’s body, Valyr decided to take matters into his own hands and find out what was going on.

However, what he found out only brought him memories of a bitter post.

‘Oh, for fuck’s sake.’

‘There’s another phase.’

Ding!
