Chapter 663 Four Pillars: The Game Plan
Chapter 663 Four Pillars: The Game Plan
“What’s taking Valyr so long to get back?” With the four of them having finished the objective of killing a thousand primitive humanoids, the four of them decided to make their way back to the south quadrant in order to talk about their next step.
As Valyr was the first one among them to finish this objective, the others had given him a heads-up through the party chat, thinking that he was passing the time while waiting for them to finish by killing the primitive humanoids in his vicinity.
However, the response that they got from him instead left them at a loss for words.
‘Currently scouting the quadrants to obtain information on the other quadrant leaders.’
That was the last minute their leader had sent to them around half an hour ago, which was around the time the four of them had finished their objectives and gathered at the south quadrant.
For reference, an hour had passed after Valyr completed the objective before the four completed theirs.
“Well, the city ruins is quite large, so it’s not all that surprising if he takes a while to return.” Hearing the question that came out of Hal’s mouth, Vera decided to answer his question as she wryly smiled.
In response to Vera’s words, Faulus slightly shook his head. “With the movement skill he’d shown last night? He’s definitely done collecting all of the information on the other quadrant leaders.”
“If anything, he’s probably on his way back,” added the alchemist.
“Congrats. You’re right on the mark.”
Whoosh!
As if he had planned the current situation out, Valyr had appeared in front of the four the very moment Faulus had finished saying those words.
Then, dispelling the dark wings behind his back, he looked at the others with a faint smile after seeing the four of them look at him with curiosity.
Nodding at the four, Valyr began to talk. “First off, I would like to apologize for taking a bit longer than usual to return. Decided to kill some more primitive humanoids while waiting for you guys so I got information on the quadrant leaders at the very last minute.”
Hearing the others respond back to him that it was fine, the young man let out a brief chuckle before turning solemn. “In any case, I’m sure you don’t want to hear my excuses as to why I’ve taken my time.”
“Let’s talk about the other quadrant leaders.”
With this, the four began to attentively listen to every word that came out of Valyr’s mouth, not wanting to miss even a single word of detail.
On the other hand, Valyr made sure to explain the characteristics of the quadrant leaders in a way that was comprehensive yet easy to understand at the same time.
While doing so, he brought up the stats he had obtained on the quadrant leaders themselves during his explanations, allowing the others to get a better idea of what they were up against.
By the end of the young man’s explanation, the four now had a greater understanding of the quadrant leaders they would have to fight against, such as the fact that they were similar to the primitive humanoids.
However, they weren’t similar in terms of appearance or stats or the like.
Rather, they were similar in terms of falling under one of the three archetypes they’ve figured out while fighting the primitive humanoids.
For example, the quadrant leader located at the west quadrant fell under the archetype of having superb capabilities when it came to physical attacks, shown by its comprehended Intent and the combat style it had as its main set of skills.
Unfortunately, its magic capabilities were incredibly lacking wherein it could not even avoid a simple fireball.
On the other hand, the quadrant leader located at the east quadrant was the exact opposite, having an Intent of a similar grade that leaned towards magic, as well as a combat style that was similar to the many magic style skills Valyr had.
Of course, with how the west quadrant leader was weak to magic, then the east quadrant leader received grievous amounts of damage from physical attacks.
As for the north and south quadrant leaders, these quadrant leaders fell into the third archetype where their physical and magical capabilities were more or less equal.
However, there was a difference between the north and south quadrant leaders that prompted the five to make a choice on which quadrant leader they would fight first.
“One has the Intent of Balance, while the other one has the Intent of Unified Will,” said Hal after hearing the characteristics of the two quadrant leaders from Valyr.
“Unlike the west and east quadrant leaders, whose Intents are possibly of the same grade, one quadrant leader out of these two actually has a weaker Intent compared to the others.”
“I presume it’s the one with the Intent of Balance?” asked Valyr in return, to which Hal nodded in response.
“Yeah. Unlike the Intent of Unified Will, which is a 6th Grade Intent if I’m not wrong, the Intent of Balance is actually a 9th Grade Intent.”
“However, compared to other 9th Grade Intents, the Intent of Balance stands at the top due to how versatile it is. Whether you use it in production or in combat, the Intent of Balance will have great effects.”
“So, that means we’ll be fighting the north quadrant leader, then.” As he took in the information Hal had shared, Faulus decided to speak up. “Are we gonna head out right now?”
“Give me some time to rest, will you?” Valyr looked at the alchemist with a joking pained expression. “I’ve been gathering information for all of us to benefit from, you know?”
“Plus, we still have plenty of time before sundown,” added the young man, taking a look at the sun that had just passed its zenith. “Let’s take this time to reach our peak conditions and talk about our strategies in fighting the north quadrant leader.”
Hearing the suggestions made by their group leader, the four nodded in agreement as they began to animatedly discuss their plans on how they would take on the north quadrant leader.
As for Valyr, he passively listened to their conversation with a smile as his mind was focused elsewhere.
‘To think Ryvrthe would actually be correct,’ thought the young man to himself. ‘The last leader of humanity had actually left something for them inside the inheritance.’
At the very moment he had reunited with the other four, Valyr had mentioned that he had spent the time waiting for them to finish by killing some more primitive humanoids.
However, in reality, he had set out to obtain information on the quadrant leaders the very moment he had received replies from the others that they would take a while.
Relying on [False Wings of the Shadow Wyvern], he had obtained all of the information he needed on the other quadrant leaders a couple minutes before his wings naturally dissipated on their own.
If anything, the reason why he had taken so long to return to the south quadrant…
Was the fact that he had explored the center of the city ruins.
