MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 222 The Second Operation

Sometime later, the five players left the smithy with smiles on their faces, with most of them already equipping the items that they obtained from the smithy at no cost. However, there was one out of the five with a wider smile compared to the rest, even though he had none of the new equipment equipped whatsoever.

Waving at the five goodbye as he thanked them for their help in procuring the materials he needed, Valyr eventually returned his attention back to what he was doing, picking up the hammer once more to continue hammering down the imperfections on the armor piece he was forging.

Though, just as he had activated the hyperfocus ability from [Gambler’s Discerning Eyes] to aid him in this process, Valyr noticed Wells moved closer to him, prompting him to stop what he was doing before turning around to look at the latter with a raised eyebrow.

“I was already curious when you gave those five a task to collect a few materials for you yesterday. But even though I’ve finally seen the materials they’ve collected in person, I still have no clue what those materials are.” Wells looked at Valyr with a slightly puzzled expression.

“Of course, I won’t ask you on what they are since I could find that out right now with a quick [Analysis]. Instead, what I want to know is… what are you planning to do with the materials they got you?” As this question escaped out of Wells’ mouth, a light smirk appeared on Valyr’s face as he let out a chuckle not long after.

“Well, it’s not really anything special. Those materials I had them collect for me make up part of something, a certain something I should have forged for myself a long time ago, actually.” Saying those words, Valyr grabbed one of the armor pieces he had forged beside the anvil, deciding to give the vambraces for Wells to look at.

Receiving the vambraces, Wells instantly took note of its design, feeling that Valyr had given it a lot of thought, even though it was simplistic in appearance. With its color being a dull ash gray, the vambraces glistened under the light of the sun, glimmering a faint red under certain angles.

Aside from that, Wells got the feeling that there was an entity slumbering within the vambraces, seemingly waiting for the other pieces of the armor to be forged and worn before it would awaken.

Curious as to why he had gotten this feeling, Wells went ahead and used [Analysis] on the vambraces, causing his pupils to shrink in shock as his mouth went agape, looking at Valyr with incredulity written all over his face.

Seeing Wells’ reaction, Valyr could only laugh as he retrieved the vambraces from Wells’ hands before placing it beside the other pieces of armor he had finished forging. “Well, other than the fact that I should have forged something like this a long time ago, there’s also a chance that those guys from the emporium will get revenge on me in the future, which is the other reason why I’m forging this.”𝒐𝓋𝑙xt.πœπš˜π“‚

“In any case, does this answer your question?”

In response to Valyr’s question, Wells could only stare at Valyr for a short while, as if he was looking at a monster straight in the eyes. Then, after taking in a deep breath, he turned around and headed back to the entrance of the smithy before closing his eyes, activating [Technique Introspection] sometime later.

Letting out a brief cackle in response to Wells’ actions, Valyr returned his attention to the armor piece he was currently forging, activating the hyperfocus ability of [Gambler’s Discerning Eyes] before proceeding to continue working once more.

“Since you didn’t answer my question…”

“I’ll just take that as a yes.”

…

Whilst Valyr and Wells were in the middle of closing up shop, the former received a message from Tryndall through the chat function, reminding him that they were going to meet up around an hour or two from now. With that, Valyr slightly hastened his movements, prompting Wells to stop what he was doing for a bit to look at Valyr in slight confusion, only to shrug his shoulders before continuing to do what he was doing soon after.

Sometime later, after telling Wells that he wouldn’t be joining him later when he ate dinner, Valyr made his way to the bathroom and took a quick shower, changing into a set of dark clothing before tying the dark fabric he had bought back then around his face.

Taking a brief glance outside the window to check if the sun had already set or not, Valyr then made his way to the workshop portion of the smithy, retrieving the saber he had forged according to the specifications and modifications Tryndall had given him.

Wanting to make sure that he had gotten Tryndall’s saber, considering that he had forged a few more sabers thanks to other custom orders, Valyr went ahead and activated [Analysis] on the saber he retrieved, lightly nodding after he was finished skimming through its description screen.

Affixing the saber around his waist, Valyr eventually left the smithy after bidding farewell to Wells. Making sure that there was no one following him, he then made his way to where he, Tryndall, and the five assassins had met up in the past, swiftly noticing that Tryndall was already there yet again.

Feeling that another person had appeared in his vicinity, Tryndall gazed in Valyr’s direction with a solemn expression, only for his expression to become all smiles once he realized that the one heading closer to him was Valyr.

After talking about what the other side was up to for quite some time, Valyr gave the saber he had brought along with him to Tryndall, who received it with great gratitude before testing the weapon out then and there.

Swinging the weapon for a while, as well as doing a basic attacks with it, Tryndall eventually nodded in satisfaction as he affixed the saber around his waist, pulling out a platinum coin from his money pouch sometime later before giving it to Valyr. “You’ve forged quite the exquisite saber, you know?”

“Naturally.” Valyr lightly chuckled in response. “After all, my forging skills aren’t just for show.”

“In any case, are we waiting for the others to arrive again?” he asked after that.

“Pretty much.” In response, Tryndall shrugged his shoulders. “Though, we’ll probably have to wait a bit longer than usual, considering how we’ve got a few more people this time around.”

Fortunately, the two only had to wait for a couple more minutes for the five assassins to arrive at where they were, with Douglas greeting Valyr with a wave. A few minutes after that, four people in dark clothing had appeared in front of the group, with all of them radiating palpable killing intent, giving off the feeling that anything they came across would undoubtedly die under their hands.

Not long after, these four suppressed the killing intents they gave off, prompting Tryndall to nod as he attracted everyone’s attention.

“Alright. Since everyone’s finally here, let us begin the briefing.”
