[You have gained a piece of information regarding your true identity.]
[The skill ‘Noble Blood’ has transformed due to the piece of information you’ve gained. The skill’s name has been changed to ‘Royal Blood’.]
[Although you have learned more about your true self, a thick veil still shrouds the true extent of your identity. Nevertheless, you shall eventually find out who you truly are.]
Just as Valyr’s eyes widened in surprise from the name of the clan that Aster had mentioned, a string of notifications appeared within the former’s mind. However, when he read through the notifications that he had obtained, the surprise he felt turned into shock once his eyes fell on the final notification.
‘I’ve already found out that I’m part of the Zeihardt Royal Clan, yet even that isn’t the full extent of my true identity?’ At that moment, Valyr went ahead and rummaged through his memories once more, using not only the information he had collated so far regarding the Zeihardt noble clan, but the information he had received from Aster as well regarding the Zeihardt Royal Clan.
Surprisingly, with the new piece of information he had obtained from Aster, a couple memories eventually surfaced in his mind, making Valyr hopeful that he would possibly find out more about his true identity. However, rather than find out his true identity, what he found out instead only made him feel more dread.
‘The War of the Three Sovereignties…’ Not only was this the main storyline of Greater Beyond’s first version for those that had spawned in the planet of Veldanyr, this was also where the thoughts that had surfaced in Valyr’s mind revolved around.
‘In a vie for total control over the planet, the three only sovereignties on Veldanyr waged war against one another, with each of the sovereignties’ end goal becoming the victor of this desolate war.’
‘The first sovereignty is the ruling body of the elf race, the Lumiella Sovereignty.’
‘The second sovereignty is the ruling body of the orc race, the Khael’gazar-i Sovereignty.’
‘And last but not the least, the third sovereignty is the ruling body of the human race, where most, if not all of the strongest humans on Veldanyr could be found…’
‘The Zeihardt Sovereignty.’ Feeling a headache going on, Valyr took in a few deep breaths as Aster watched him process the information he had given to the former in silence. Though, what the latter did not know was that the young man beside him was processing far more than what he had mentioned.
‘The Zeihardt Sovereignty… the Zeihardt Royal Clan… what is my body’s true identity, really?’ After pondering over he had figured out for quite some time, Valyr eventually decided to place everything he had found at the back of his head for now. With that, he recalled his circumstances when he had first appeared in the world of Greater Beyond, on a carriage that was headed to Astarto Village.
‘Does that incident have any greater significance?’ Asking himself this question, Valyr realized that he knew too little about his body’s past circumstances, inwardly letting out a sigh as the yearning to figure everything about his true identity blazed with far greater fervor.
Aside from that, the fact that he lacked the strength, as well as the connections to be able to figure that out on his own became glaring to Valyr at that moment. With that, he looked back at Aster, hoping that the man beside him would have more information to give him, feeling that his time in Greater Beyond in the near future wouldn’t be as peaceful as it seemed.
Unfortunately, Aster’s next few statements would make him realize that his time in Greater Beyond so far was in no way peaceful at all.
“Has the realization of being part of a royal clan finally sinked in, young man?” Aster posed the question to Valyr, who could only bitterly smile in response as he nodded, thankful that the former had brought their conversation to a secluded place.
Becoming silent after that, Aster contemplated over his decision of informing Valyr regarding the happenings that occurred far beyond the latter’s radar once more. Fortunately, he remained adamant in his decision, letting out a sigh before opening his mouth. “Though my life may be at risk once people find out I did this, let me warn you now, Valyr.”
“You’re on borrowed time, young man. Although the days you must’ve spent in Astarto Village were peaceful in your eyes, to the nobles, as well as to everyone else… it wasn’t as peaceful as it seemed.”
Recalling his train of thought from earlier, Valyr took in a deep breath before opening his mouth. “What do you mean by that, Marquis?”
Scratching his head for a bit, Aster eventually responded. “Currently, there are two factions that exist within the Zeihardt clan: the supportive faction and the rebel faction. Among the two factions, the rebel faction has scoured the entire continent for any traces of your whereabouts, wanting to be the first ones to get their hands on you before the other faction.”
Listening to Aster’s explanation, Valyr could not help but wonder if it had something to do with the War of the Three Sovereignties itself, becoming one of the reasons for the war to occur in the first place. Of course, he also came up with other possibilities, thinking that the situation Aster explained being an internal fight that had transpired within the clan, which might affect the overall results of the war greatly depending on the outcome.
Either way, he was not privy to the situation Aster explained, so Valyr went ahead and asked for further information. “Why do they want to be the first ones to get their hands on me, though?”
As he asked this question, Valyr thought that his body before he had appeared in the world of Greater Beyond might have stolen a precious treasure from the clan, or perhaps a powerful skill that would shake the world at its core if people were to find out.
However, Aster’s answer was neither of them.
“Well… let’s just say you’re the reason why the clan split into two in the first place.”
“…eh?”
