MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1717 1717: A Meeting Between Universes (14)

Whoosh!

Watching Odin and Mimir appear from the other side of the gate alongside Azazel, both Adam and Eve looked at the three with slight trepidation.

“How…was it?” the latter asked, her fists slightly clenched. “Did the conversion method work?”

“Well…” Spending a bit of time to catch his breath, Odin eventually looked at Eve and gave her a wry smile. “It didn’t work.”

“It didn’t?” Eve raised her eyebrow in slight surprise. “I’m pretty sure all of us here confirmed that the ratios and factors used in the conversion method were ideal for the creation of aether.”

“That… was indeed the case.” Mimir nodded at those words, a bitter smile on his face. “However, once we tried using the method back at our universe, we found out that the ratios and factors needed for the conversion to happen didn’t line up with the figures we got.”

“What did you do, then?” asked Adam, his gaze sweeping across the three.

“What else would we do?” Azazel replied with a chuckle. “We tried and tested new ratios and factors after that, of course.”

Hearing the man laugh in response to their question, both Adam and Eve’s eyes soon widened in understanding as they looked at the two old men for confirmation.

“Did you get it to work?”

In response, both Odin and Mimir looked at each other before giving the two a faint nod with smiles on their faces.

“That’s great!” said Eve with a wide smile, her fists now clenched in excitement. “That means we can start improving the cost and yield of the conversion method.”

“Not only that,” said Adam just as she was done talking. “But we can also start focusing our efforts towards improving the quality of their aether!”

As if those words were a signal of sorts, Azazel did not hesitate to move closer towards the two as he began to share his perspective on the duo’s attempts of making the aether conversion method work.

Seeing that the three had begun to indulge themselves in the refinement of the conversion method once more, Odin and Mimir decided to jump in as well not long after, seeing as they would be the most affected by its success.

And thus, the five spent a long time refining the method used to convert other energies in the duo’s universe into aether, making use of the information they would collect from the other universe every once in a while to ascertain their findings.

Unsurprisingly, with the weakest among them at the pinnacle of the Divine level, it did not take long for the five to formulate what they considered the ideal conversion method for aether.

Checking once more to see if the conversion method they came up with harmed the foundation of their universe in any way, both Odin and Mimir dove headfirst into the gate connecting both universes with anticipation on their faces.

A few minutes later, the two returned in front of the trio with wide smiles on their faces, confirming through their actions that they’ve finally created the conversion method they’ve been waiting for over 5,000 years.

“A 90% conversion rate of all the other energies into aether is probably the best we can do in the meantime,” said Adam, his gaze focused on an orb purely made out of aether.

“Of course, with a bit more effort, we can push that number to around 95 or 96%. However, the time it would take to get there would definitely be hundreds, if not thousands of times longer than it took us to get where we currently are.”

“90% is already more than enough for our current needs,” said Mimir in response, slightly chuckling. “If anything, what we need instead is a construct that would automatically do the conversion for us.”

“But that’s something we’ll do by ourselves back at our universe,” said Odin just as his companion was done talking. “It wouldn’t do us any good if we received your help at every step.”

“Plus, we could just use what you used to power Greater Beyond if we needed a reference later on,” he added, a playful grin on his face.

Adam let out a chuckle in response.

“Well, you’re not wrong.”

Whoosh!

With his focus still on the orb of aether, the man went ahead and began to manipulate the elements making up the energy, moving them in a way that allowed him to visualize the energy’s flaws.

Removing those flaws one by one, he then continued to refine the other aspects of the energy, eventually causing a qualitative change that made the orb turn a bright silver.

Swoosh!

“Success,” said Adam, refining the energy within the orb a bit more in a bid to make sure it was stable.

After ensuring that the energy contained within the orb was stable, the man then asked Eve and the other three to take a look at what he had done.

“This…!” Focusing his senses on the bright silver orb, Mimir’s eyes widened in surprise as he turned to look at Adam. “This is already as potent as the Myth Energy we used to utilize.”

“All I’ve done is just smooth out the rough edges,” said the latter, his expression somewhat proud. “I’ve also done a bit of optimization and refinement, but it’s nowhere near the amount we did back then to transform mana into Arcana.”

“In a way, you could say that the aether in front of you is the true form of aether your universe should’ve been using.”

“If not for the existence of Myth Energy, then that might have ended up being the case,” said Odin, his gaze intently focused on the bright silver orb of energy.

After sensing the energy’s properties a bit more, the old man then looked at Eve and asked, “So… should we uphold our side of the deal, or…?”

“If possible.” Eve paused at the question for a bit before nodding with a smile. “To be honest, I’ve placed such matters at the back of my head after getting to work on your universe’s energy.”

“But of course, once everything is said and done, we’d still ask you to hand it over.”

“It’s the least we should do after the amount of help you’ve given us.” With him obtaining confirmation, the old man went ahead and sent information regarding their universe’s system of progression to Eve through mental transmission.

Stepping aside to smoothly receive the massive influx of information entering her mind, the latter eventually let out a faint sigh in wonder.

“Now that I think about it, what name do you call your universe?” As she went through the information Odin shared with her in her mind, Eve looked at the former and asked him a question.

“We used to call our universe Mythos since Mythos was the one that ushered our universe into a golden age,” replied Odin after giving it a bit of thought. “However, after our energy disappeared, we just began to call it the Forsaken Universe.”

“Yours?”

“…It’s a bit difficult to describe.” Already expecting the question to be thrown back at her, Eve immediately had the gears in her brain start turning.

“However, if I were to come up with a word that describes it best in your universe’s language, then it would be…”

“Theos.”
