Chapter 1711: A Meeting Between Universes (8)

Seeing as both Odin and Mimir were looking at her with immense curiosity after that question, Eve went ahead and gave them the answer they were looking for.

“At that point, the concept one controls would transcend the scope of universes as a whole,” she told them. “From a concept that encompasses the three dimensions, a concept at that level would start to touch upon the existence of the fourth dimension.”

“Once a concept solidifies its connection to the fourth dimension, only then is it possible for a being to go past the ninth dimension and reach the dimension where everything begins and ends.”

“The Infinite Metaplane,” said Odin and Mimir, getting the feeling that this term was the exact thing Eve wanted to hear.

“Exactly.” Eve nodded in response. “The Infinite Metaplane is the final step on the path to transcendence.”

“Because of its existence as the final step, those who have reached that level consider the Infinite Metaplane as the greatest heaven.”

“However, to us and to everyone else below that level, it would be more apt to call it the worst hell.”

“Eh?” Mimir looked at Eve in confusion. “Why is that?”

“Unfortunately, we don’t know anything about that,” replied the latter, her expression informing the former that she truly did not know the reason. “Though, we suspect that it might have something to do with the trial that comes with the Infinite Metaplane.”

“A trial, huh…”

Hearing that ascending to the Infinite Metaplane needed one to go through a trial first, it did not take long for Odin and Mimir to have a rough idea of how Mythos died.

Then again, even though they now had an idea as to how he died, that did not diminish the sadness they felt over his death, considering what the man had achieved.

“Perhaps he would’ve been the first to reach that level if he hadn’t failed the trial,” murmured Odin, to which Mimir nodded in agreement.

“Sadly, none of us in our universe are anywhere near meeting the requirements needed to be considered an Ascendant, much less the level that comes after it.”

“Yeah.” Mimir nodded once more. “It doesn’t help that the energy we used to wield back then also disappeared.”

After saying those words, the two old men went silent, their expressions pensive as they went over the information Eve shared with them in their minds.

On the other hand, Eve turned to look at Adam and Azazel with a slightly worried expression. ’Did I share too much information?’

’Not really.’ Adam shook his head as he responded to the message he received. ’In a way, you could say that all of the information you shared them was the bare minimum needed to understand what the Infinite Metaplane truly is.’

’Yeah.’ Azazel agreed with Adam’s words. ’Plus, it’s not like you gave them a step-by-step guide on how to become an Ascendant. At most, you gave them hints, which is still considered fine… probably.’

Listening to their words, Eve went silent for a bit. ’I think we should inform the Grand Administrator about this matter. Who knows if our decision to share information might affect whatever the higher-ups have planned.’

Looking at each other for a bit, Adam and Azazel eventually gave her a nod of agreement.

’Better to be safe than sorry,’ said Adam, prompting the other two to nod once more as Eve began to write a report concerning the information she shared with Odin and Mimir regarding the Infinite Metaplane.

By the time she was done with her first draft of the report, the two old men let out faint sighs as they looked at the three with gratitude.

“Our sincerest apologies for moving the topic away from its original course,” said Odin to them as he and Mimir gave them a respectful bow.

“No worries.” Adam gave the two a reassuring smile. “Anyone would be just as curious as you two if the cause of one’s death was as bizarre as that.”

“Though I do agree we have gone way off topic,” he continued, letting out a slight chuckle.

“Might I ask how Mythos came across the method he used to create your universe’s energy?” Eve asked the two after that, making full use of the opportunity Adam gave her.

“Unfortunately, we don’t know,” replied Mimir as he and Odin shook their heads. “All we remember is that he came to us and the other gods to show the energy we showed you earlier.”

“Then, seeing that the energy was far purer and stronger than the one we were using before, we decided to use the energy he made without hesitation.”

“That alone is enough of an answer,” said Eve in return, their words giving her an idea of where Mythos obtained the method. “Though, what you said just now piqued my interest.”

“You were using a different energy before Mythos made the energy you’re using now?”

“Yes.” Mimir nodded, immediately understanding that the other side wanted to see that energy for themselves.

Whoosh!

Extending one of his hands outward, the old man went ahead and conjured an orb of that old energy, which took on a silver-white color.

Focusing their attention on that silver-white orb, the three Administrators swiftly took note of the differences between it and the energy they showed before.

Though the energy before them was also the amalgamation of various energies, they noticed that the fusion making up the energy in front of them was considerably rougher in comparison.

Of course, with Mimir mentioning it earlier, they also confirmed that the energy gave off a weaker feeling. Though, after assessing the energy a bit more, they confirmed that the weakness was mostly due to the will of the universe not being fused with the energy.

“Might I ask if this energy has a name?” asked Adam. “Also, is there a name for the energy you showed earlier?”

“We used to call this energy as aether,” said Mimir, dispelling the orb of energy he conjured. “As for the energy Odin showed earlier, to commemorate Mythos’ efforts, our universe used to call it Myth Energy.”

“I see.” Adam nodded in return, only to then glance at Eve as he sent her a few messages.

Faintly nodding in response as she received the messages he sent, the latter went over the information the two old men shared just now before opening her mouth.

“Regarding your request to adopt our universe’s mana as your universe’s main energy, we’ve decided to reject it for two reasons.”

Though Odin and Mimir slightly frowned in response to those words, the two remained silent after seeing that Eve still had more to say.

“The first reason would be the fact that the adoption process would not only be difficult, but also time-consuming and resource-hungry,” said Eve, her expression solemn.

“In comparison to the amount of resources we could currently mobilize, the amount needed to start and complete that adoption process would take at least ten times that amount.”

“And the second reason?” asked Odin, the frown on his face deepening.

“It’s actually pretty obvious if you think about it,” replied the former with a bit of laughter. “Rather than adopt the energy of a different universe…”

“Why not have your universe revive aether instead?”
