Chapter 1654 1654: The Forging Grind (2)

Ttang! Ttang! Ttang!

With all of his skills and concepts activated and raring to go, Valyr quickly got to work, sending a command that caused the four production lines to stir to life.

‘Say, Meyers. What kind of armor sets do you want me to craft exactly?’ Deciding to speed up parts of the forging process by working on it himself, the young man made use of his connection with his other self to ask for more information.

‘All you told me back then while I was still in the inheritance was to craft 120 pieces.’

‘Huh.’ Pondering over his words for a bit, Ataraxia soon uttered out a sound in agreement. ‘Now that you mention it, you’re right. I didn’t give you any of the specifics.’

‘Then again… is there even a need for that?’ he said soon after, a faint chuckle echoing within Valyr’s mind. ‘Considering how few armor sets you’ve forged thus far, surely you’d know what to forge, no?’

‘I can’t read minds, Meyers. You know that’ Valyr frowned in response, only to then shake his head and let out a sigh. ‘Which is why it’s a shame that I can read yours.’

‘Is it really a shame? Even after we found out the effects of [Perception of the Grand Origin] stack when both of us focus on the same thing?’ Teasing his other self a bit more, Ataraxia eventually decided to stop.

‘Jokes aside, just the Half Wyvern Armor set, Valyr.’

‘The higher rarity versions or just the Half Wyvern set as is?’ asked Valyr for clarification. ‘Also, are you sure you want me to make 120 sets of Half Wyvern Armor?’

‘…You know, you’ve got a point there.’ Becoming silent for a bit, Ataraxia’s voice soon resounded within the young man’s mind once more. ‘Let half be Rare-grade Half Wyvern Armor, while the other half be the magic-based equivalent of it.’

‘You can do that, right?’

‘The first one I can do, no problem.’ Valyr nodded with confidence. ‘The other one… might take a bit of experimentation.’

‘But you’ll help me, no?’

‘But of course,’ replied Ataraxia with a peal of laughter before using [Sight of Arcane Origin] on the vision his other self was sharing with him. ‘Is that not why you asked for my help in the first place?’

Faintly grinning at his other self’s words in response, Valyr took in a deep breath before focusing most of his attention towards the progress of the four production lines.

Having given them instructions beforehand to make templates for the parts he would eventually turn into armor pieces, the young man went ahead and modified the set of instructions for those tasked with forging, aligning their actions to where they’d make parts of the Half Wyvern Armor.

With his copies working like a well-oiled machine, it did not take long for the first batch of parts to arrive in front of the young man, prompting him to start refining each one as he briefly recalled how to create Half Wyvern Armor in his mind.

Though the speed at which he created the armor was slow at first, Valyr gradually picked up speed as he made great use of the various skills and concepts in his arsenal.

Not only that, but he also made great use of the experience he had with crafting the armor, as well as the special vision Ataraxia gave him access to, increasing the quality of his crafts at no cost. Nw ovel chaptrs are published on ovelfire.net

Adding that with his ocular skills, as well as his decision to make use of [Breath of Calm] on all of the armor pieces, it only took around half an hour for the first set of Half Wyvern Armor to be completed.

Checking to see if the armor had reached the quality requirement his other self was looking for, the young man soon returned his attention back towards crafting more of the armor sets, seeing as the entire workshop was gradually entering a groove that increased their production rate.

Engrossing himself in the entire forging process without hesitation, Valyr was able to reduce the amount of time it took him to forge a set of Half Wyvern Armor down to 20 minutes, allowing him to complete the first half of Ataraxia’s request in less than a day.

Taking a well-deserved break after that, he then went ahead and changed the set of instructions on the copies to where it would aid him in crafting an entirely different armor set.

‘Though the version of the Half Wyvern Armor we made for you to use leans more towards magic, do you think it’s possible to consistently make more sets of it?’ Chowing down on the food he had the guild’s staff bring up to him, Valyr sent this message to his other self as a query.

‘It’s not impossible,’ replied Ataraxia, giving the matter a bit of thought. ‘If we think about what we did while crafting my armor set, if you exclude the massive disparity in rarity and quality, the only big difference between yours and mine is that you had me drip some of my blood on it.’

‘Does that mean you’ll be having the ones who’d be wearing those sets to come here and drip their blood in advance?’ said Valyr in response, only to pause as the gears in his mind began to turn in contemplation.

‘…I’m an idiot.’ Eventually, the young man’s voice echoed through their connection, accompanying the crisp slap he gave himself. ‘Though the guide said the effects aren’t great if I did it during the early versions of the armor, I could substitute the blood infusion for attunement materials instead.’

‘…Does that mean there’s an infinite number of possibilities to what kind of Half Wyvern Armor you make now?’ asked Ataraxia after a bit of pause, gradually realizing what the young man was hinting at.

‘It would be more accurate to say that my limits have been expanded,’ replied Valyr with a chuckle, sending a request to the guild’s staff for sets of materials attuned to mana. ‘After all, I still have to do some experimentation to see which materials work.’

‘But once I do… it probably won’t be a bad idea to revisit that one idea I had.’
