MMORPG : Rise of the Interstellar God

101 The New Recruit

Apophis received a notification while in his flying limousine on the way to the spaceport.

Quest Notification: The timer for your quest “Mass Conscription” has expired. You have successfully recruited 23,356,089 players into the Federation army.

Quest Notification: Your final score for your quest “Mass Conscription” is S-. You earned the following rewards: The rank of Colonel in the Federation army + 2,356,608 GC + 1 point of Galactic Reputation.

These rewards were great. Actually, the point of Galactic Reputation was worth more than everything else put together. Galactic Reputation was essential for a player’s personal development, as well as their guild’s. It was like a passport that proved one’s respectability and power. Beyond that, many bonuses and rewards given to players depended on their reputation.

Apophis was now more confident after his meeting with Ralfot. As a colonel of the Federation army, he could now easily lead a whole battalion without relying on the favors of others. After a few moments of thinking, Apophis sent a message to Ralfot to inform him of the number of Eternals in the Federation army to put a bit more pressure on him!

Finally, the flying limousine arrived at Spaceport 74, where many ships were warehoused.

[0)ᴠʟ It was a beautiful scene! Five spaceships lay before Apophis, along with fifty players standing to attention. This was the first wave of recruits which the Eclipse guild had inducted.

Apophis exited his limousine. Everyone was present except for JackRipper, who had gone back to Era to grind EXP. The atmosphere was heavy, as the new recruits were tense in front of Apophis’s strong presence!

Their leader was now almost as well known as the other MMORPG stars from before “Horus,” and his corrupted Zetark appearance terrified the recruits, who had never seen such an evolution in other players.

But despite the small number of players, the Eclipse guild was already, without doubt, comparable in terms of ships to a first-rate guild, and the players knew it!

Apophis didn’t say a word, but only inspected the players. It seemed that it had been a great recruiting session! Every one of the recruits was above lvl 20 and was Rank C or better!

That is, they were all elite players with the ambition to be recognized as professionals. It was exactly what Apophis and Lotus were looking for.

Apophis also noticed some great players from his old life. He saw Jiraya, a Hunter, and ThreeDog, a Warrior, players who had previously gained renown in national competitions! They would be very useful in upcoming dungeons.

After scanning the fifty recruits, Apophis gave a speech. “Welcome, comrades! Today is a great day for you. Our guild aims to train future leaders of the Eclipse guild, so I count on you to give your best on the battlefield! This war will determine the future of our guild, and, therefore, ‘your’ futures. I count on your unfailing involvement and your absolute loyalty! Glory to Eclipse!”

The five captains now had to choose their crews from among the recruits. It was a delicate mission, as each captain would be responsible for everyone they picked. They took turns until each captain had selected ten crew members. Apophis made sure Jiraya and ThreeDog ended up on his own team.

Each team took the name of its ship. Apophis led MK.1, Lotus MK.2, White MK.3, Hulk MK.4, and Chocolate MK.5.

Once the teams were determined, the crew embarked!

Apophis sent a message to Antanria announcing that he was joining the fight on Cronos I, and that it was better for her to stay on Terra until the conflict ended. After all, even Apophis didn’t know what kind of chaos the war would bring!

The five corvettes’ reactors ignited at once, and the tiny fleet soared into the sky of Terra. Once in the planet’s atmosphere, they passed into hyperspace and headed
