Chapter 688 Forbidden Tier8 Power
Satan realised that Regus was not an easy opponent and he wasn’t interested in playing games.
He understood that if he wanted to defeat Regus Aurelius, he needed to give his 100% and unleash some of the strongest moves in his arsenal.
” Come ”
He said as he asked Regus to take the initiative and the moment the vampire god did, he unleashed a barrage of energy attacks originating from the Trident end of his weapon as he pelted Regus with a never ending stream of blasts that sounded like thunder-booms, forcing him to stop and deflect the attacks and restricted his movement.
Regus was quick to notice that behind the deceitful mask of the mana based energy blasts, Satan was secretly increasing the build-up of divine essence, perhaps in the preparation to unleash a big divine attack.
At this point Regus had two choices, on one end he could be brave and try to disrupt Satan’s gathering of divine essence and break his move before he launched it and on the other he could start building up his own divine essence store and prepare to counter with his best move and hope that it was strong enough to neutralise Satan’s.
After thinking about it, he chose the latter, not out of arrogance, but because he had absolute confidence in his own strength and truly believed that whatever Satan launched at him, it could never be stronger than what he could launch at Satan.
Hence with that decision made, he too began building up his divine essence in anticipation of launching a big attack.
A full sixty seconds passed, yet both the monarchs stood immobile as they gazed into each other’s eyes. The concentration of the divine essence around both reached unprecedented levels as through sheer pressure of the concentrated divine essence alone, the desert around them began to tremble, ominous black, red and golden thunder began to crackle in the sky above as winds howled and whipped across the barren landscape, carrying with them a sense of foreboding.
The tension was palpable, and the very fabric of the world seemed to hold its breath, awaiting the clash that was to come.
The armies that had once fought around them now stood still, their eyes fixed on the two godly beings, understanding that they were witnessing history.
Not many truly understood what exactly they were about to witness, but those few that did could not believe their eyes.
There was an informal understanding amongst all monarchs in the universe that ensured that no-one unleashed tier8 attacks, no matter the circumstances.
This was true from the time of the previous great war, as even back then the use of tier8 attacks was seldom done.
Even in this war, it was never used even when there was a clash between several monarchs as they all limited themselves to peak tier7 attacks as a rule of thumb.
Yet, it seemed like the concentration of divine essence the two had collected had broken past anything that a tier7 attack would require and had entered the forbidden tier8 domain.
An attack was considered tier6 when it could imbue divine essence within and had the potential to cause severe terrain damage, depending on the AOE nature of the blast, or could be used to cause severe damage to other Tier6 god’s if it was of the PVP nature.
If that terrain damage was amplified to the maximum and had the potential to destroy entire planets with a single attack, it was considered to be a tier7 attack of AOE nature, while if it could kill monarchs it was considered a tier 7 attack of PVP nature.
A step above both of them was tier8 attacks.
The strongest attacks in the universe, with only the strongest monarchs capable of unleashing them.
Although all monarchs received one tier8 spell upon promotion, not every monarch could master their promotion spell and wield their tier8 moves without facing backlash.
Kane was a sovereign who could never master his move and the Elf Sovereign Sonarthium never even began comprehending his.
Even within the light faction, there were few monarchs who could unleash their tier8 move and whether or not they could withstand the backlash was an entirely different matter of its own.
For an attack to be considered to have tier8 strength, it had to be powerful enough to destroy a star if it was of PVE nature and one shot a monarch if it were of PVP nature.
It was literally the embodiment of cataclysmic power and the reason why monarchs were so feared across the universe.
If left unchecked, the tier8 attack from either monarch could destroy everything around them in an instant.
The armies, the flying troops, the disc, the barracks, everything could be reduced to nothing within a split second, yet both Satan and Regus kept increasing their divine essence concentration with no end in sight.
Time seemed to slow as another minute passed, and in that moment, all that existed were the two monarchs, each preparing to unleash a force that could shape the destiny of worlds.
Satan’s eyes glowed with a fire that was both wild and controlled, a reflection of his dual nature. His face twisted into a grin, a mixture of anticipation and bloodlust.
Regus, on the other hand, stood calm and resolute, his face a mask of determination. His eyes, though, burned with an inner fire, a testament to the pain and rage that fueled him.
The moment was approaching, and both warriors knew that what happened next would not only decide the battle but might also echo through the ages.
” Prepare yourself, vampire monarch, for you are about to witness my strongest ever move.
I’ve only ever used it once before and that was to try and destroy a star!
Feel privileged because I’m using that same power to end you today, HAHAHAHA ” Satan said as he stomped his foot and a black runic diagram sprang into existence in a circle extending about a 100 metres in radius.
[ BLACK APOSTLE ]
Satan screamed as a beam of darkness that seemed to extend towards the sky tearing through the boundaries of the Dimensional Battlefield itself seemed to form around Satan.
