Chapter 682 Low Blow
Regus had been through a lot in his life.
While the Aurelius clan was wealthy during his rise to power, it wasn’t the most affluent clan amongst all others.
He had earned his way to becoming the general of the then royal army through sheer strength and had promoted himself and his clan to take the number one spot in the rankings by revolutionising it’s military and talent upbringing structure.
He had married only after he became king and even after he was married he took a decade more to conceive children with his wife.
The reason behind why he took so long to have a child was because he wanted to solidify his position as the monarch and make sure that if he brought a new soul into this world, he could do it justice and make it a greater king than he was.
Unfortunately for him, his first son Marcus was an utter disappointment.
Despite showering him with unlimited resources and raising him with love, he did not take advantage of his resources and wasted his time being a fool.
The signs of him being a failure were evident since early childhood, but as a doting father Regus turned a blind eye to most of his faults.
It was a decision he regretted till date- as he blamed himself for his son turning out to be a weakling.
Thankfully for him, his second and third son were extremely competitive and competent.
He could groom both of them to become the next king and it was for them and them only that he was persevering, as he wanted to give them the monarchy in the best state possible when they ascended to the throne.
However, although Regus had banished his first son, he did still have a soft corner for him and did love him dearly.
Hence when he saw that a prisoner was being dragged up beside Satan and that too in chains, Regus felt his heart skip a beat as he recognised exactly who Satan had tied up.
For Regus, for one moment which seemed to stretch for eternity, he felt as if the chaotic battlefield had turned silent.
For one moment, nothing existed in the space between himself and Marcus as he saw his son for the first time in over a year.
Marcus was crying, there were red marks all over his body in areas where he had struggled violently against the chains that he was bound in.
When Satan hung him out of the window, despite the Battlefield being so massive and Regus being so far away, he was still able to spot his father who was sitting atop his giant mount as Marcus looked straight at him and shouted the words ” SAVE ME FATHER ”
Looking at the tear drop from his son’s eyes, Regus finally lost his calm as he leapt from the back of his mount and went flying straight towards the point where Marcus was held captive not caring if it was Satan’s trap.
He covered the distance of 5 kilometres within a couple of seconds, however, before his very eyes just as he was only 100 metres away from Marcus, Satan killed the first prince by making his body explode into a million pieces.
*SPLURT*
The blood of Marcus sprayed in all directions and till great distance as it completely drenched Satan’s face while spurting as a couple droplets on Regus.
” NOOOO! ”
A primal rage took over the vampire monarch as he cocked back his fists and aimed to swing at Satan’s smug smiling face with all his might.
*BOOM*
Regus punched with all his might as Satan blocked with his arms crossed- but despite the blocking attempt, he was sent flying out of the other side of the tower as he felt both his arms turn numb from the sheer power of impact from Regus’s raw strength.
[ Total Annihilation ]
Regus unsheathed his sword and plunged it straight into the devious tower causing cracks to form all across the structure, before it crumpled to dust.
Just like that, Regus had destroyed the tower that housed thousands of Satan’s mages and long range support troops as he jumped from the top floor, without missing a beat, and pointed his sword at the falling Satan, who had now provoked his wrath.
Satan had struck Regus with a low-blow by dragging his son who had been outcast to live his life as a commoner back to the battlefield in chains and killing him in front of his father to cause psychological damage.
In reality, it was not Satan’s plan to do so, but rather a gift from Lucifer who sent the boy over with a letter that explained how Satan could satisfy his urge for a legendary battle against a furious opponent.
*GRRRR*
*SKABOOM*
Just as Regus was mad with rage towards Satan and was brandishing his sword towards him, the earth started to rumble and a distinct sound swept across the chaotic battlefield that let everyone know that another disc raid had been triggered.
Regus did not turn to look which disc it was, but the gleeful expression of the falling Satan painted the full story for him.
‘ It can’t be… no… ‘
Regus thought as his eyes widened in disbelief and he momentarily glanced back just to make sure that his worst worries were not going to come true- but unfortunately for the vampire monarch, nothing seemed to be going his way today.
As he glanced back, his worst fears were only confirmed as he saw that the disc raid that was triggered was indeed his own.

( Meanwhile Max )
After routing the ghoul god’s, Max knew that his army and the clone were more than enough to wipe out the remaining ghouls without facing severe casualties as he redirected the attention of himself and the fourth legion under Anna to backing up the dragon’s.
Volleys of arrows were sent to the fight above, as the vampire archers took aim to disrupt the attacks of the opponents, irking a few, while being largely useless against most others.
Only Anna and a few of her strongest, most talented underlings had the ability to shoot arrows that could pierce through the thick dragon armour and deal actual damage, while the others could only hope to tickle the dragon’s or pray that their shot pierced their eye or the inside of their mouth to cause damage.
Max himself, however, was on a whole different level as he jumped onto the back of Mira and eased into his role as dragon slayer.
The dark faction dragon’s were baffled when suddenly a human appeared on the proud dragon princesses back and began spewing [ Dragonsbreath ] attacks that vastly overpowered anything that a tier6 dragon could conjure.
Against the combined attack of him and Mira, they managed to push back 2 tier 5 white dragons and 2 tier 6 red dragons with one single attack as their flames completely overpowered their foes.
Max’s flames especially had an explosive power to it that was completely unlike anything the majority of the dragon’s had seen before.
Despite being creatures blessed with high tolerance to flames, the dragon’s still felt Max’s attacks to be scorching hot as it threatened to melt their scales and expose their tender skins even though he clearly did not imbue his attacks with divine essence.
” How are mortal flames conjured by a mere vampire more powerful than our own? ” The white dragons wondered as thousands of inspection spell were cast upon Max, only for the result of all inspections to come back the same-
[ The Primal God ]
The title flashed in gold over his head, sounding extremely intimidating as the dragon’s identified him as a big potential threat.
They could not garner any other information about Max, no matter how many inspection spells they cast on him as the fear they had towards him only increased as a result of facing the unknown.
Just who was the primal god?
What powers did he have?
Was he really a vampire?
Was he the inheritor of some ancient legacy?
All these were questions that the dragon’s wondered about when the earth rumbled and a distinct sound swept across the battlefield.
Momentarily, everyone’s attention was drawn towards the new disc raid that was activated and while the dragon’s did not care about such matters and only wanted to go at each other’s throats, Max was stunned to see that the disc that was activated was the vampire one.
” No, no, no, this is simply impossible- ” Max murmured as he swept his gaze across the battlefield below aimlessly, only to see the old man smiling at him with his kind wrinkled face.
As Mira violently swerved to the left to dodge an attack, Max was brought back to his senses as he realised that he did not have the luxury to worry about such matters at the moment, however, internally in his heart which was beating rapidly at the moment, only one thought kept repeating itself again and again-
‘ He knows…. The old man knows everything-
This can’t be a coincidence ‘
