Chapter 343 Dreaded
Max had spent a lot of time training inside the mirror world with his perfected A.I. model which gave him the advantage of knowing his exact strengths and weaknesses as well as taught him valuable combo moves that could maximise his damage output.
It was for this reason only, that his movements while facing the python were sharp as he knew exactly which attack to use and when to lure the enemy deeper and deeper into a trap.
The python was a formidable creature. It had scaly skin covered in poisonous spikes which made close combat very dangerous but also mitigated damage from long range attacks because of heavy armour.
Because of this, it was one of the best defensive builds overall, however, except the poison spike attack, it’s attack was sorely lacking.
Being a tier 5 creature it was agile, and it had the strength to wrap around a tree trunk and snap it in half to use it as melee damage in combat.
However, not having limbs and only one head, its overall combat threat level was pretty low as long as one managed to avoid being hit by the spikes.
[ Inferno ]
[ Energy Blast ]
[ Summon Netherbeasts ]
Max used three spells in continuation as he used the inferno spell to momentarily blind the enemy by blasting it with fire near its face, while using Energy Blast to hit its body, to create an area of impact where its flesh might become exposed.
When the python regained it’s sense of vision, it saw five Netherbeasts charging towards itself as it shot out poison needles to neutralize them.
In dealing with the Netherbeasts the python had momentarily lost vision of Max who was hovering over its body, using
[ Fire Compression ]
Coupled with [ Inferno ] to create a strong fire attack that reached the highest levels of tier4 spell strength.
Max blasted the attack straight at the spot he had used an energy blast earlier to expose the python’s skin under his scales, as the powerful fire attack blasted straight through the armour and burnt a hole through the beast’s flesh.
-120,000 CRITICAL HIT!
The beast’s HP dropped sharply as it shrieked in pain, its high pitched voice attracting various beasts from all over the surrounding forest.
[ Dragons Breath ]
At this moment, noticing the approaching threat Mira used Dragon’s Breath as she directly blasted the python on its head, dealing significant damage before Max switched his staff for a sword chopping the pythons head off clean using an [Overhead Slash]
-85,000 CRITICAL HIT! ]
[ System Notification – You have killed a tier 5 mutated spiked python, you have received
+5 vials of spike python poison

Error! Error! Error!

[ System Remark – Your combat skills have improved remarkably for being an Earthling by birth ]
As usual Max paid no attention to the system remark as instead he urgently told Mira to get a move on.
” Let’s go, too many beasts around us now” Max said as he catched Mira as she jumped off the high branch before leaving the corpse of the dead python untouched as the other beasts started fighting over the right to eat it. .
The duo were only about 500 metres away from the commotion, when Max felt goosebumps run all over his spine as if his sixth sense was alerting him about some severe danger.
*RAWRRRRRR*
[ System Notification – You are in the presence of a tier6 dragon, you have been paralysed for 5 seconds under its gaze ]
[ System Notification – You are a part dragon yourself and can resist the fear, paralysis has been neutralised ]
Max read the system notifications and felt a grim feeling of death spread all over his body, despite his best efforts in the end they were discovered and that too by the worst possible opponent.
**************
( Meanwhile Angakok )
Angakok was pleased to see that Kremeth, Varun, and Dharti had all decided to give into his demands and tutor his chosen one.
While Varun and Dharti were apprehensive of the plan at first, after a lot of powerful intimidation by Angakok they signed a contract with the celestials as witness to tutor his disciple to the best of their abilities while helping Angakok build his time chamber.
In return, they were promised tier8 treasures and the guarantee to freedom once the task was over.
In the ancient times before the chaos era, there were powerful gods who mastered a single law of the universe.
The fire god Agni mastered the fire element.
The wind god Vayu mastered the Wind element.
The sea god Varun mastered the water element
and The earth goddess Dharti, mastered the Earth element.
Apart from these four, the Thunder god Indra had mastered the thunder element becoming the king of all elemental god’s.
With the death of Agni and Vayu in the chaos era, their paths were almost completely lost, the only knowledge left behind being recorded in their weapons which they binded their soul with.
To become a celestial, one needed to master all four basic elemental paths and a supplementary path to get a SSS+ rating in their tier6 promotion test and have the opportunity to unlock the highest possible class of Godhood.
Although Max did not realise this, he was a unique individual who was in possession of the Agni-Astra, the only one holding the legacy of the fire god.
While also walking the supplementary path of a perfect warrior.
With Angakok bringing the other ancient gods themselves to tutor him, he now had a chance to become more than just a mere god, the chance to become a true celestial.
Naturally Angakok’s personal interests were heavily intertwined with this project as he was not helping Max from the kindness of his heart.
He had his own plans regarding Max, which was the only reason Kremeth was apprehensive of joining the project.
