339 Thunder Cave
White Unicorns gathered their best members outside of Thunder Cave, which was near Ironto Village. Those who spawned in this newbie village felt nostalgic, especially since they were now mostly situated more in cities and towns.
White Unicorns’ members wore armor and robes which glistened white under the sun. Their banners hung high where the eyes could see.
The most important person among them was the leader of White Unicorns, the albino twins who had an all-white get-up with streaks of light blue accents. Their faces were serious, and they had a battle-ready aura as they marched inside the cave at their lead.
Other players immediately cleared a path at the sight of the marching army. They were simply no match against a giant guild like White Unicorns, so most of them, who wanted to attempt the dungeon, turned tail and left. It was simply not their day. But of course, they would not leave without taking a video of the whole thing to post online.
It didn’t go viral, though. White Unicorns had already attempted the cave several times, and they were wiped out every single time. At this point, everyone found it normal for a guild to get wiped out since even White Unicorns had the same experience. Because of that, many players found the big guild more humane than they thought.
While the bystanders were marveling at the sight of the impressive army, White Unicorns concentrated their attention on a single person in their midst.
Out of the two-hundred-strong army, all the pressure was directed at a guy who looked so relaxed and laid back. If it weren’t for the context, everyone would think that he was merely there, holding an apple while waiting for a bus.
Ren was garbed with the same white armor as the rest of White Unicorns so that he could blend in with the army and not stick out like a sore thumb. The twins specifically requested it, wanting to keep employing World Conqueror a secret.
If ever it got out, then it got out. There was nothing they could do about it. But if it could be helped, they wanted to try. In the meantime, Ren should hide among the other members so that he wouldn’t be exposed.
Ren didn’t mind it. White Unicorn probably didn’t want the world to know that they had asked for his help, the one who was rumored to have stolen their legendary item.
It wasn’t just a rumor, though. Ren laughed inside.
“I’m glad that you’re at least in a good mood.”
Ren looked to his left and saw Ivan. Since he was kind of a mage, he was put in his unit.
“Aren’t you?” Ren asked back. “This will be the day that you’ll finally acquire one of the second-tier elemental books that you so badly wanted to covet.”
Ivan only shook his head with a weak smile on his face. “Glad to see that you’re confident,” he said before his face turned serious. “But you don’t know that Boss.”
“Who? The Primordial Thunder King?” asked Ren with an obvious tone.
Ivan nodded. “Besides what you already know, since we shared the Boss’s information with you, the Boss. . . is something else up close. He makes Jibblinplip look like a blob.”
“Jibby is a blob,” corrected Ren.
But Ivan didn’t seem to hear anything as he continued like he was in a daze. “It’s a hundred feet tall with its head literally in the clouds. It’s an ancient species of a giant with tremendous electrical power. It brought hurricanes, and with each step, it pulverized the ground like a thunder while lightning split the sky.
“The storm is its command, so we’ll constantly be subjected to lightning, cold, and thunder while in a battle against it. Each time, we increase our members to fight against it, and each and every time, we lose against it.
“Going anywhere near that thunder king is a suicide, even to our most robust tanks. Those who stayed at a range and pelted it with powerful magic were able to avoid the worst of its power, which was why we have more magic users than DPS players.
“And that’s not even the worst part. Once one of the sections of the thunder king reaches zero, its whole focus would shift to destroying us. The giant is no fool. It would immediately target the players with the most overwhelming force.
“In order to defeat it, we must zero its legs, left and right arm, as well as it’s head and body. The good news is, once we zero those sections, it wouldn’t be able to perform any attack with those limbs. However, the thunder king would only grow fiercer.”
“. . .” That was quite a lengthy explanation wasted on Ren, who already knew all about the Primordial Thunder King. After all, it was through it that he got to know Isolde.
Speaking of which, Ren wondered how Leonel and Isolde were doing. He hadn’t received any message from them, so the hunt for the Hidden Boss with the guild Clawing Talon must be going well . . . At least, that was what he hoped.
Leonel would definitely mess things up. Good thing that Isolde was there to keep him in line. Though Ren’s face only crumpled a bit at the thought of his best friend and his tendencies, it didn’t escape Ivan’s notice.
Ivan registered a satisfied nod at Ren’s reaction. Now that he knew the gravity of the situation, this would put him back on earth. He thought.
Eventually, White Unicorn entered the cave with ease as they had done several times before. The only difference was that Eric and Erica, the leaders of White Unicorn, had joined the escapade, along with four more generals, significantly reinforcing their ranks. Defeating and getting wiped out this time wasn’t an option.
The first floor was just a long winding hallway with a set of stairs. There were neither monsters nor traps.
The second floor was also a simple maze. Nothing special there, either.
The third floor was a small room with five floors connected by the stairs, but there was also nothing inside except for some treasure chests.
