There were countless forum posts regarding rewards for finding the City Lord Seal. The incredibly high rewards were so attractive that every player, regardless of reputation or time spent in the game, started trying their luck in search for the seal.

After all, this seal would be meaningless for an individual. Selling it for gold would be able to ensure an abundant supply of money for a long time.

After this incident, the common NPCs of Twilight City were considered really unlucky. Over ten thousand players swarmed the entire Twilight City like locust, leaving no stone unturned.

It was true that the players dared not hurt the common NPCs. However, all these common NPCs had no strength to truss a chicken, let alone deal with all these ferocious players. All they could do was to stand idle and watch others searched through their own home.

Twilight City wasn’t very big so with over ten thousand players searching the city concurrently, the whole process was rather efficient. Not long after, the first seal was found in the head refugee’s house located in the smallest refugee region in the district.

Seconds later, the second refugee administrator seal was found at the same place.

The head refugee’s house was not the same as the City Lord Mansion. Not only were there no guards outside, but the head refugee also wasn’t the strongest. After all, he was basically the head of all these slum housings. After the swarm of players snatched the seal and ran away, the head refugee chased after them for a few seconds before giving up.

Even though the refugee district was poor and worn out, this was still the scope of authority of a district. For these two seals, the various big guilds started bidding for them. Eventually, these two seals were sold to Void Blade for one hundred thousand gold.

And that lucky fella became the person everyone in Twilight City grew jealous of. Following which, everyone threw themselves into the search for the rest of the seals.

Shortly after, the two seals from Developmental District were found. Even though Developmental District was a new district and also not very wealthy, the economic system had yet to be covered completely by shops mended by NPC. It was a district with the greatest profit to be earned.

After a round of bidding, it was eventually bought over by Sanguine Alliance for 150,000 gold.

A point to note was that the seal of the Developmental District was found on the owner of the bank.

After the appearance of these few seals, players realised that something as important as the seal would never be in the hands of the commoners. It was usually held by the wealthy and respectable people.

At the thought of this, everyone’s focus turned to the houses of officials and businessmen in Twilight City.

There were only so many wealthy and powerful NPCs in a main city. A discovery like this shrunk the scope of the search significantly. Seals were found one after another shortly after that.

Of course, NPC with the seals were also not pushovers. After a round of intense fight with the players, the seals of the remaining four big districts finally ended up in the hands of the players.

The outcome of everything was also just as expected. All the administrator seals of Twilight City were split among Sanguine Alliance and Void Blade.

The seals of the Western and Northern District were bought over by Sanguine Alliance while the Eastern one was won by Void Blade. The Southern seal was initially bought over by two smaller guilds but after the threats and promises of Captain Don’t Open Fire, the two smaller guilds had no other choice but to sell the seal over to Void Blade.

Even though both guilds obtained three administrator seals each, the Central Administrative District seal was the one that Sanguine Warflag and Captain Don’t Open Fire wanted the most. However, it did not appear at all.

The location of discovery of all six seals made it very easy for anyone to guess where the last two seals were. They had to be hidden at the City Lord Mansion.

At the thought of that, the two leaders brought their own guild and arrived at the entrance of the mansion.

When they arrived at the entrance of the City Lord Mansion, they realised that the mansion had been sealed off by guards and there was no way anyone could enter.

Sanguine Alliance and Void Blade had just obtained so many seals from the various NPCs so they were acting like hot knife through butter. They thought that the guards at the City Lord Mansion were the same as the few NPCs they bullied earlier. Seeing how the large number of them were stopped by the few guards outside the mansion, they were naturally not going to feel too pleased about it.

Science has proven that a complacent and motivated man would do the most unimaginable things. Sanguine Warflag and Captain Don’t Open Fire were of no exceptions.

These two fellas were worried that the other party might snatch the most important seal so none of them could think straight. Both of them were fighting to lead their men forward to challenge the prestige of the system.

Eventually, everyone could imagine the outcome.

The two mighty guards didn’t even move from their position but were able to demonstrate absolute power to the players trying to show off their insignificant strength.

Within the City Lord Mansion, Wang Yu and co. were not feeling any better than Sanguine Warflag and the rest.

When their intentions were exposed, all of them remained silent with blushed faces. They slowly gave up on the foolish idea of killing themselves.

Ling Longmeng looked at Wang Yu before looking at Yang Nuo again, “Forget it! I think we better get Fearless to return the seal.”

Everyone from Quan Zhen Sect were filthy rich individuals. Without mentioning the rest, the equipment on Wang Yu and the items in his bag were clearly worth as much or even more than the City Lord’s Seal.

“This…” The ladies stared at each other for a moment before looking back at Wang Yu with eyes lit up. Ling Longmeng patted Wang Yu’s shoulder and said, “You are truly a genius!”

At this moment, the City Lord sneered coldly by the side, “Brat, you are indeed a creative and smart guy. However, it doesn’t work this way. It is not that easy to be the City Lord.”

“Oh? Are you saying that I cannot be the City Lord even if I leave this place?” Wang Yu was disgusted at how the system played this game.

“Very simple! You can only become the City Lord after you complete the requirements and have me hand you the seal personally.” City Lord smiled.

This time, Wang Yu finally understood what the City Lord was implying. He meant that unless he was the one who personally gifted the seal to him, the seal wouldn’t work. This was way too despicable.

“So? Can the seal come back now?” City Lord asked Wang Yu.
