Chapter 632: Chapter 632: Boiling

Everyone in the Prosperous Age Base was at a loss – what in the world was going on?

Every one of them was utterly stunned, almost everyone outside had died at least once, and they were still trying to figure out what was happening after they had respawned.

Not only them, the executives of Prosperous Age who had hurriedly gathered together were all wearing somber expressions.

“Our elder brother is tied up with some matter, he has an important client and simply can’t get out of it. He told us to handle this situation.” The cousin of Prosperous Age said helplessly.

The Beast Speaker’s expression immediately changed, anxiously asking: “Which client?”

The Prosperous Age Scion said in irritation: “Who cares about the damn client right now, we need to focus on repelling these monsters first.”

The Beast Speaker responded helplessly, “I remember our boss saying he had to meet with the president of the Junior Minister Group to discuss their investment in our base.”

The cousin of Prosperous Age also became anxious, “Damn, I remember that too. It seems like the president of Junior Minister Group will be touring our base tomorrow morning.”

Everyone present was flabbergasted.

They were no fools. Despite recently logging in, they had already figured out that their base was under siege by countless Warcrafts – and to add to their despair, these were flying Warcrafts.

The players of Prosperous Age were now desperately fending them off while more members were being contacted to join in.

Leaving aside whether they can resist this Warcraft attack – even if they could, their base would likely be left in shambles.

What would the Junior Minister Group get to tour tomorrow? The ruins?

They knew very well that for garnering this investment, they had put in every effort imaginable, with various guild facilities being constructed regardless of their cost.

“Damnit, why are they flying Warcraft?” The cousin of Prosperous Age angrily threw his cup across the room.

Indeed, why flying Warcraft? If the monsters could not fly, the only path into their base would have been through the city gates. A single wall was more than enough for their defenses as the stone edifice fortified with magical barriers could even ward off boss-level Warcraft.

But, just their damned luck, these were flying Warcraft that completely ignored their walls.

If this plan were to fail, not only would their hard work be wasted, but their reputation would be in tatters and other investors might start to question their efficacy.

Thinking about this imminent danger, the three of them shivered. The consequences were too dreadful to consider.

“Damn it all, if only we knew who was behind this,” the Prosperous Age Scion was fuming, unsure of what was happening.

No one knew whether someone from the guild provoking these Warcraft or if it was an external player. Or if this was all just some conspiracy targeted at Prosperous Age.

While Prosperous Age was powerful, they had countless enemies and rivals around the world.

The Beast Speaker’s first thought was of Starfire, but he dismissed it soon after.

He was online all this time and had even heard the world announcement about Starfire veterans slaying a boss monster. Even though Starfire was an adversary, he had to admit a secret admiration for them.

But if it wasn’t Starfire, then who was it? He really couldn’t figure it out.

“Nevermind, trying to figure out this right now won’t help. We need to survive this crisis first,” said the Beast Speaker.

The cousin of Prosperous Age picked up a map and said, “Let’s do this. We’ll split up and distribute the guild’s forces into three groups. I’ll stay here with the second team, guarding the guild hall. Beast Speaker, you take the first team and lend support wherever necessary— try to get those independent players to help us. The main focus should be the cemetery. As for you, cousin… take the remaining people and protect the three inns. Remember, they must be protected at all costs.”

“Alright, let’s do it,” the Prosperous Age Scion, knowing this was a crucial moment, had matured quite a lot.

“Beast Speaker, the pressure on you is the greatest. But out of all of us, you are the most capable and competent. We entrust you with these arrangements,” said the cousin of Prosperous Age solemnly.

“I understand. Our guild still has some aces up our sleeves. As long as you guys shield the guild hall and the inns, leave the rest to me,” The Beast speaker said with confidence.

Considering the guild hall as the hub for the guild’s operations was a given. If it were to be destroyed, the whole base would be rendered useless and all other functions would cease.

Now, about the guild’s inns… it was of utmost importance. Many members and other players would sleep there after logging off. If the inn were to be destroyed, it would be game over.

Those players who logged off inside the inn would die with its destruction. This was no joke.

If they failed to even offer safety for players who logged off inside the guild inns, who else would want to come to their base? It would be completely useless at that point.

“As expected of a large guild, their reactions are really quick.”

Li Yao was currently drinking on the rooftop of the inn, blending into the shadows. He nearly got caught due to an item in his backpack and had to ditch it – the package that contained the Gryphon egg.

Now, without the scent attracting them, even the Gryphons couldn’t locate his whereabouts.

While he still saw several streams of white light sweeping across from time to time, they were now more organized and disciplined – almost as if they had found a new strategy.

“As expected, they know how to react effectively,” Li Yao happily said as he sipped his apple wine.

Many players had gathered around the guild hall, drawing aggro towards themselves instead of letting the Gryphons attack their guild hall.

On the side of the inns, because of the organization, the MTs were not instantly killed when they engaged the monsters.

As Li Yao was appreciating the grand battle, he spotted people on distant rooftops. Using his Eye of the Creator, he identified them as streaming hosts and he couldn’t help but chuckle, “These streamers really do get into all sorts of places. They came here so quickly.”

These hosts had numerous fans and were always up-to-date with the latest news. The reason for their swift arrival was simple: a Magician could teleport players.

Li Yao paid close attention and realized that in such a short time there were already three to four streamers present, the most famous among them being Tanuki.

“Indeed, he does receive the credit of being the battleground reporter in the past life. Wherever there’s a fight, he’s sure to be found,” Li Yao shook his head and sent a private chat to Sister Li, “Watch Tanuki’s livestream. There’s going to be a great show.”

“What great show, have you set something into motion?” Sister Li curiously asked.

“Just watch and you’ll know. Inform the others in the guild too, they can watch together, it’ll be a grand celebration.” Li Yao chuckled, “I’m on the rooftop, drinking wine and admiring the moon. It’s so beautiful.”

“Why not, might as well have a grand revelry. Our guild is having a bonfire party at the square, it’s perfect timing to share the joy.” After Sister Li finished speaking, she immediately went to the square and shared Tanuki’s livestream.

A virtual, giant screen appeared in the middle of the square, displaying the dreadful situation at the Prosperous Age Base. Quite a few among Starfire were aware that the guild was their enemy. Seeing their foes in plight, they began to revel. Everyone was enjoying their drinks and commenting on the screen, creating a convivial atmosphere.

At the same time, word reached many influential guilds about the incident, and attention was promptly turned toward the Prosperous Age Base. As a significant event, it stirred the entire e-sports circle.

The Beast Speaker also received word about the livestream. He watched with sparkling eyes. He knew, this could be seen as an opportunity or a disaster…
