Chapter 90 Unforeseen Problem
‘Lady Nachtor, The tomb of darkness is the only commonplace in each continent forbidden land of darkness, and thousands with great talent have tried to acquire the legacy, and the best some did to this day is to reach the second trial.’ Okrosh said.
‘I still think he has some hope of getting the darkness legacy as he did clear the hidden trial in the first promotion to gain his Death element-related class.’ Nachtor said.
‘The chances of his acquiring the legacy are less than Zero.’ Okrosh replied and then vanished.
‘If he did acquire the legacy, then things would get very interesting as every Race wants to know the secrets behind the forbidden land of darkness, and the Darkness tomb is the only viable clue to gain their answers.’ Nachtor thought, looking toward Alex with a bright smile.
————
‘I knew from the loud noises that two strong beats were clashing, but I never thought it would be a battle between two Sixth Rank calamities.’ Alex thought, seeing two giant beasts throwing deadly attacks at each other.
‘A death battle between the Abyssal Naga and Nocturnal Minotaur is beyond rare and would only happen if they are fighting for something more valuable to them than their own life.’ Alex thought.
The death Battle between two strong creatures was not uncommon because strong beasts needed huge amounts of resources to progress their strength, and any chance they got, the beast would kill and consume another beast of the same Rank.
The Beasts could progress their strength by understanding their natural element, but the easiest way to gain strength was by consuming strong prey.
A fight between the Abyssal Naga and Nocturnal Minotaur was unusual because they both gained nothing by killing each other.
The Nocturnal Minotaur can’t consume the dead Abyssal Naga because of the deadly poison inside the Naga’s body.
The Naga can’t consume the minotaur’s flesh because the minotaur tempered its fleshy body with his deadly flames making his flesh inedible for any creature who is weak to flame element.
‘I want to see the end of this death battle, but I don’t think this battle will end anytime soon, and I can’t waste any time.’ Alex thought, seeing the two beasts throwing element attacks at each other while keeping a safe distance.
‘I should leave before I get myself into any unnecessary trouble.’ Alex thought and quickly left the area.
————–
‘The legendary [ Death Miasma Field ].’ Alex thought, standing a few meters away from an area filled with dark mist.
‘The Titan Cronos told me I have great talent in the darkness element, but what would happen If I failed in the legacy tomb trial?’ Alex thought as his brain kept giving him the worst-case scenarios.
“HOOOO,” Alex took a deep breath to calm down.
‘The only way to find the truth is by entering the tomb and challenging the trials.’ Alex thought as he took out an Intangibility potion and swiftly drank it.
‘This mist looks harmless, but I will be dead without the intangibility potion effect.’ Alex thought as he entered the dark mist.
After entering the mist, Alex started sprinting in a specific direction, and after navigating in the shadowy fog for twenty minutes, he reached the legacy tomb’s location.
‘The Player who discovered this empty throne thought it was just a unique thing and published about it on the forums to gain some fame, but he never thought that the empty throne he found would be a [SSS] Rank legacy tomb.’ Alex thought, looking at the dark empty throne in the middle of the thick deadly miasma.
The darkness legacy tomb was just an empty dark throne in a random location of the most deadly place in the forbidden land of darkness.
After the discovery of the empty throne, it quickly became famous because of its unusual location and beautiful appearance.
The throne was magnificent, so many guilds tried to take it as a collection item, but they couldn’t even move it by an inch, let alone take it with them.
The throne became a popular visiting location for players as they used it to take photos for their social media.
The condition to start the legacy trial was to sit on the throne, so with hundreds of daily players visiting the throne, it was only a matter of time before someone with good dark element talent got acknowledged by the throne and discovered its secret.
It was unknown who discovered the throne’s secret and when he did because the player anonymously sold his discovery to a few big guilds.
After getting the information, the guilds monopolized the location, only letting their selected player sit on the throne, and just like that, after one year of disappointment, an unknown player acquired the legacy.
‘I don’t have information about the legacy trials, but I hope they are not too tough.’ Alex thought with a bright smile as he walked toward the throne.
‘The Intangibility potion effect would last for Six hours which should give me more than enough time to clear the trials and leave this place safely.’ Alex thought.
‘Let’s explore the unknown.’ Alex thought as he sat on the throne.
‘The trial should start by now, so why is it not starting?’ Alex thought after silently sitting on the throne for five minutes.
‘My consciousness should get transferred to the darkness tomb, and the trial should start after one to three minutes maximum, but the time is already over.’ Alex thought as he looked at the trone for any reaction.
‘The throne first tests a person’s talent for darkness element, so it is likely just doing that, and my talent is so great that it needs more time than usual.’ Alex thought logically to calm down.
‘Cronos said that my darkness element talent is the best he had seen in his life, and even if it is only among the human race, it is still great, and there is no way the throne won’t acknowledge me as a good candidate for the legacy.’ Alex thought as he closed his eyes and waited for the trial to start.
‘My talent is at least three times better than the person who acquired this legacy in my previous life, as he entered the trial after four minutes.’ Alex thought
Alex stayed optimistic, knowing that Cronos had no reason to lie to him, and he also had tested the death mana, which was a branch of darkness element, and the result of his test was comparable to any genius.
‘It’s been twenty minutes. Let’s hope the trial starts before one hour, or I would need to use the second Intangibility potion, but the good thing is I bought three to be on the safe side.’ Alex thought.
Alex believed the throne was checking his incredible talent, not knowing that the throne completed that step in the first minute, and from the last nineteen minutes, it was devouring the deadly miasma in the area.
——————
‘This throne has been consuming mana for the last twenty minutes, and he is still conscious, meaning the legacy hasn’t even started yet.’ Okrosh said, standing beside Nachtor high in the air, looking toward Alex.
‘The throne is slowly but continually gathering the darkness mana in the area, and the death miasma field is the result of the highly concentrated mana gathered in the last few decades.’
‘The throne would only use a small amount of mana to start the trial and maintain it, but this is indeed unusual.’ Nachtor replied with an intrigued look.
‘This is beyond unusual, the throne didn’t didn’t consume this much mana even when the prince from the Orpheus Dragon Clan took the trial and stayed in the trial ground for three days.’ Okrosh said with an amazed look as he watched the throne consume the massive amount of mana with every passing moment.
‘The throne will eventually complete its preparation, and we will get the answer to all our questions, so let us peacefully wait for it to end.’ Nachtor said while keeping her focus on the throne and Alex to not miss any new development.
——————
‘It’s been an hour already, but why is the legacy trial not starting.’ Alex thought after the completion of one hour.
‘The worst thing that could happen is that I won’t get this legacy which would be disappointing, but it wouldn’t be the end for me because I can still get some other good legacy related to the dark element.’ Alex thought.
‘Let’s wait for another hour and think positive because thinking about the negative won’t change my situation.’ Alex thought after taking a few deep breaths to stay calm and positive. .
‘The second hour is also over, and the legacy trial hasn’t started, which is disappointing, but I still have hope.’ Alex thought as he drank the second Intangibility potion to reset the six-hour effect time.
‘I hope I don’t need to drink the last Intangibility potion.’ Alex thought.
After drinking the second potion bottle, Alex kept waiting for the trial to start, but to his dismay, even after the longest five hours of his life, the trial didn’t start.
