Chapter 370 Beast Tide

Chapter 370 Beast Tide

[Red Alert] [Red Alert] [Red Alert]

[Incoming Beast Tide] [Estimated Number: 7,000 Creatures]

[The Thunderstorm Reavers, a rogue clan of Thunderhoof Minotaurs, are leading a Beast Tide directly toward our city walls, and they are being led by the third clan Genrel, a true Beast King]

[Fall Back to City Premises and Prepare for Defense]

“Secure the gates! Evacuate the outskirts and retreat to the safety of the city walls. The Thunderstorm Reavers show no mercy, and we must fortify our defenses.”

“The neighboring cities are also under attack, and the surrounding space of the city has been isolated so that no reinforcement would be arriving any time soon,”

“City guards and all able-bodied citizens, arm yourselves and prepare to defend the city if you wish to live because the fate of our city depends on our collective strength and resolve.”?The announcement resonated through the entire city, echoing with urgency and a call to unity.

In the wake of the urgent situation, the city stirred with frantic activity as the metallic clatter of armor was hastily donned, mingled with the muted murmurs of concerned soldiers and adventurers.

The streets, once bustling with everyday life, transformed into a makeshift war front as those incapable of fighting hurriedly gathered what weapons they could before rushing into their homes.

The city guards, clad in armor adorned with the city’s emblem, took up strategic positions along the fortified walls while those taking their break rushed to defend their land.

Mana cannons roared to life, and so did the mage tower, the city barrier, and other defensive measures. The air hummed with an electric tension, a palpable anticipation of the impending clash.

‘This is a great opportunity, but time is going to be an issue,’ Alex thought, troubled by the situation.

A Beast Tide was a great opportunity for him to rise to fame and save weeks of time, but its timing was not the best because, in four hours, Venedikt and Andrei’s flight would land in America, so in four hours, he needed to be at the airport to pick them.

The time was not an issue because the raid would end in two to three hours, but the issue was the aftermath because after he shone among the combatants, the higher-ups would surely want to meet him, and that could take hours.

‘But what if I get heavily injured in a final battle and go unconscious,’ Alex thought, as an idea popped into his mind to make the most of the situation.

“Aeon, why are you standing here with a goofy smile when you should be on the front lines,” A female voice interrupted his chain of thought, and looking to the side, he saw an elven archer giving him a cold stare.

“Guardian Liayra, I was heading to the wall,” Alex said with a smile before he used the phantom walk to disappear.

Alex gazed at the towering wall crafted from the manipulation of ancient trees, and as his eyes scanned the horizon, he witnessed the growing chaos wrought by the approaching Beast Tide.

The elven city, nestled within the heart of the dense forest, was a?marvel of both natural and elven craftsmanship, with winding passages, like a labyrinth carved from the very trees surrounding it, created a formidable barrier against the oncoming Beast Tide.

All the massive trees in the vicinity had platforms with various offensive weapons mounted on them, while groups of individuals also used them to pick the beasts from a distance.

In the distance, the rhythmic rumbling and crashing of trees heralded the advance of the Beast Tide. Fourth and fifth Rank creatures, Thunder Bulls, Titanhorn Bisons, and berserk Oxen plowed through the living walls of the passage, leaving chaos in their wake as they barreled towards the city.

At the edge of the city boundary, A small group of towering figures of Minotaurs, fifteen feet tall, stood with their weapons prepared and mounted above the Stormbellow Wolves, with their number being no more than two hundred.

But each of them was a fifth Rank warrior, and the towering ferocious wolves they rode also ranged from fourth to fifth Rank, with three Sixth Ranked individuals leading them.

The two Minotaur commanders were hulking figures covered in crimson red fur with dense fur on their necks and shoulders, with menacing dark horns, stood clad in dark arms, wielding massive weapons.

At the forefront of the approaching horde stood a humanoid figure, an eight-foot-tall man whose sheer presence exuded an aura of dread, with the only feature making him look like his followers being his pitch-dark horns.

The creature held a smile as his piercing gaze clashed with the Commander-in-Chief of the elven army who stood in the sky, a silent clash of wills that rippled through the tension-soaked air.

‘Killing one of the commanders would get me a promotion,’ Alex thought, setting his eyes on the middle stage Sixth Rank Minotaur.

It took only mere minutes before the horde of towering bulls tore through the maze walls and reached closer to the city, and the Minotaurs that stood roaring with weapons prepared finally moved forward with their wolves bridging the distance in mere moments.

The chief commander, who had stood ready, having given his speech of valor, roared the order of charge for the mele warriors while he himself moved like a phantom toward the beast king in the distance with two Moonblade Guardians following right behind him. 𝘳𝘦.𝒸𝑜𝘮

Guardian Liayra and Balric, both being Sixth Rank individuals, led the charge, the man wielding two curved blades leading the mele fighters, while the elven beauty stood midair and used her bow to rain down the destruction.

The Minotaur road into battle with wolves, but only a small portion stayed mounted, as the majority leaped into the air the moment they reached the wall of mad creatures that was tearing open a way for them.

The Minotaur utilized the creatures as platforms as they swiftly made their toward the city, while the beast king had also engaged with the commander, not showing any struggle as the battle was a peak and middle stage Six Rank warriors.

All Beast kings needed to reach Sixth Rank before they could undergo the evolution to become a Beast King, but not all Sixth Rank beasts gained the ability to turn human.

All Beast kings were special creatures, and to fight one on even ground, one needed to be an exceptional warrior as he far surpassed any same rank warrior in all aspects of strength or intelligence.

Alex also brandished his sword and darkness manipulation against the tide of creatures, waiting for a stage to be built before he made his way to his target, who was being stopped from going on a rampage by Lady Liayra.

As minutes passed, the battle finally came to the city’s gates as the horde of rampaging bulls, who were bloodied and only charging ahead because of rage, slammed into the walls.

While the Minotaurs and their wolves were going on a rampage, with many having gone berserk, they clashed with the elves and adventurers both outside and inside the city.

‘It’s about time I unleash a necromancer on this battlefield,’ Alex thought as he scanned his with a smile, seeing the hundreds of corpses.

“Summon Undead”

Alex utilized the skill, burning through a tenth of his total mana reserve, which was more than enough to summon a peak Fifth Rank Lich that was not a pushover on his own on the same level and on a battlefield filled with strong corpses, he would be a force to reckoned with.

As a giant dark circle appeared on the ground, it went unnoticed in the ensuing chaos for the first few seconds, but as the mana of death radiated out like wildfire, it turned many heads.

Many observed as a silent hum echoed from the dark smoke, followed by a dense dread pressure laced with death, and from the smoke, a pale figure with dark hair falling down his shoulder, walled out adorned in bony armor and tattered robe with a jagged saw-like sword strapped to his waist.

‘A Battlelich and a pretty strong one,’ Alex thought, smiling as the creature first observed his surroundings before shifting his deep, pupilless eyes toward him.

“Kill the Minotaur and the Beasts, and help any others who are in need,” Alex said, and the lich nodded as he casually created an energy barrier to stop a bloodied wolf from devouring him.

“Guardian Liayra, I will handle the dark brute,” Alex utilized phantom and air walk to appear closer to the elven archer, who was zoned in on maintaining the commander at bay, but she was clearly struggling.

Guardian Liayra was early sixth Rank, and as good of a wind elemental as she was, she could do little to keep the brute at bay when her focus was divided between maintaining him at bay while also saving her soldiers.

Alex didn’t wait for her reply and zoomed toward the rampaging brute who was clashing against multiple Fifth Rank soldiers, individuals of the same Rank and strength as him but having served the army for much longer.

“Dragon Might” “Mana Amplification” “Death’s Mirage”

As he got closer, Alex utilized the Dragon Might, pushing his strength and mana by 100%, followed by Mana Amplification, making his second heart circulate his already fast mana by three times, pushing his strength further, before finally using the Death’s Mirage on the commander, aiming to deal a lethal blow.
