Chapter 323 Predicament
Chapter 323 Predicament
“So you want us, five factions who stand at the world pinnacle, to not officially sign slave contracts but still become slaves of your organization?” Scarlett said, her voice dripped with disdain, her words laden with a cold, killing intent as her mana pressure began to build, showing her displeasure.
Alex effortlessly suppressed the wild mana pressure, making it not affect Venedikt, and what followed was a heavy silence.
Venedikt looked at every individual in the room like he was waiting for them to say something, and after moments of cold, heavy silence, he spoke his mind.
“I sure never heard of any slave keeping 70% of everything they make, and also, do you expect us to gift you a gold mine and not expect anything in return,” Venedikt said, his expression calm and emotionless, his words cold and carefree.
“Lady Scarlett, believe me, my organization is giving your five factions a grand gift, an opportunity that you can’t possibly hope to get or acquire on your own, no matter how much power or influence you have in the real or Ancient world,”
“You, me, and everyone else in the world with a brain know that the days of having power and influence in the real world are gone, and now whoever has strength and influence in the ancient world is the true king,”
“The Malefis Domain is a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity that would give you all a chance and a much easier route in the race of Supremessy,”
“The price you need to pay for this opportunity is nothing compared to what you are going to get in return, but if your factions still don’t want it, then no one is forcing them to accept it,”
“Our Offer is not negotiable,”
“We will reach out to you again in a few weeks. In the meantime, feel free to explore the Malefis Domain, learn about its value, and make your decision,”
“After we contact you, and depending on your answer, the organization will decide whether we want to give the same offer to every guild in the top hundred or delay it for some time,” Venedikt said as he took out seven space rings that had gold coins in them and slid one toward each of them.
Venedikt stood up, followed by Alex, and without any more words said, they left the room.
What followed was a few seconds of silence before Lady Rosalba’s calm and measured voice broke it.
“What he said about the Malefis Domain having a unique environment to help us understand the mysteries of the worldly laws much faster than normal and the fact of there being no faction operating in the domain except the Shadow Oblivion organization,”
“Everything they said is true, and it means we have a grand opportunity in our hands,” Lady Rosalba said, her voice tinged with uncertainty.
“So you are suggesting that we become slaves to those shadow fuckers?” Vlad said, his frustration palpable, as he slammed his fist on the table, cracking a section of it with his aura going wild.
“Vlad, you need to calm down because I sure do not want to leave this place for the next few minutes,” Alden said, and Mike also gave him a nod before starting to speak his mind. 𝘰𝑣𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
“Architect made it clear that if we decline the offer, they would give the same offer to everyone else, and if we accept, they could delay doing that, and for how long, we don’t know.”
“But this means that the organization will make the Malefis Domain public sooner or later, no matter what choice we make.”
“All this leads me to believe that it’s not in their control when the Malefis Domain is opened to everyone, and they are on a time limit,”
“They are trying to trap big factions like us, so they set themselves up for life to have many big factions contracted to pay them a percentage of their earnings for life,” Mike said, with everyone intentively listening to him, and after moments of silence, he continued.
“The domain, as he said, is struggling with a curse, and it is absolutely in need of players, so sooner or later, it should be opened to players by Zero.”
“If my theory is true, then we just need to find out how long the organization can wait before letting everyone get a piece of this lucrative pie, and from there, we would have an easy decision to make.”
“There is also a second option where we pick a few of the organization members, buy their loyalty by setting them up for life in the real world, and make them a mule so they could find us info as to how we can get our hands on the domain entry tokens,”
“I am telling you this because you all are going to pull the same trick, and as we are the only ones in the Malefis Domain, it is better if we cooperate and work together,” Mike said with a smile, and even though no one spoke they all had agreeing look in their eyes.
“Fucking bastard,” Scarlett said in a suppressed tone, making everyone shift their focus toward her.
“Guys, I just talked with Zero to ask him what he knew about Malefis Domain, and what he told me is not pretty,” Scarlett said and then began to tell them everything she learned about the domain.
“So, The domain is not going to open to everyone for years, and Zero is not going to do anything about it, and the domain has a Ruler who is a player, and only he has the means to get players inside the domain in large numbers,” Vlad said, frustration evident in his tone.
“Well, to sum it up, yes, and if anyone hasn’t caught on yet, then let me enlighten you that this Domain Ruler is most likely, if not certainly, a member of the Shadow Oblivion organization,”
“So Good Luck with your plans,” Scarlett said with a chuckle as she stood up and left the room.
“There is still a possibility that this Ruler guy is not a member of the organization, and we can make a deal with him, but the chances of that happening are extremely low,”
“This leaves us no choice besides a Yes or a No.”
“If we decline their offer, they will give the same offer to others, and I do not doubt that those guilds would jump at the opportunity, and with what the domain could offer, it would only take a few years for even the last ranked on top hundreds ranking to rival or even surpass us in strength and influence,”
“The offer the organization has given us is not bad, and I dare say it is generous if we see the upside. It is just our pride that is keeping us from accepting it,”
“Now, we either need to get comfortable with the fact that we would be working for someone, or we would be waiting for weaker guilds to surpass and replace us in a few years,” Mike said before he stood from his seat, his formerly calm expression now visibly tense.
“Ladies, Alden will create a chat group for us to share our discoveries about the domain and stay in touch,” Vlad said as he picked up the space ring, rose from his seat, and left the room, with Mike following closely behind.
