Chapter 168 Demon Sin Champions
‘This time, I will tell The Emperor about the demonic cult even though he probably already knows about them, but it would complete my quest.’ Alex thought as he silently followed a knight in white armor.
After reaching the palace, Alex took some help from Elder Darion to send a message to the Emperor as he had no other means to contact the Emperor.
Alex silently followed the knight, who the Emperor sent to guide him in the palace, and after following him for four minutes, they reached a beautiful garden.
The knight navigated his way through the fields of beautiful flowers, and after a few minutes, they reached an artificial lake covering a few hundred meters in area.
In the center of the lake was a miniature island with an open sitting area built in its center, with two beautiful-looking chairs and a red crystal table between them, and a familiar man was seated there.
Alex felt a hand on his shoulder, and the next thing he knew, he was standing on the island next to the man.
“Domain Ruler, Please have a seat.” Emperor Melvin said with a smile.
“Emperor Melvin, I came to give you a piece of good news,” Alex said as he accepted the cup of tea.
“Guardian Elmara has accepted your request, but the slight issue is that one of the ingredients is missing, so she can’t concoct the potion unless she has it,” Alex said as he took out the list of ingredients.
Emperor Melvin had a bright smile as he accepted the list, but after reading the name of the ingredients, it quickly vanished.
“I can find a few of them, but how many batches will be required,” Melvin said.
Alex quickly wanted to say just one, but after thinking, he realized he had never asked Lady Elmara for the number, which he should have asked as each high Ranking potion had a big chance of failure even when some grand master concocted them.
“It will depend on luck,” Alex replied with the best answer that came to mind.
“I am very grateful to you and Guardian Elmara for accepting my request, and as for the ingredient, I will inform you when I locate one,” Melvin said with a smile as he placed a White crystal slip on the table.
‘Now I have the personal communication slip of the Human Emperor.’ Alex thought as he took the crystal slip and placed it directly into the safe inventory. π»πΌπ―πΉοΌπ¨πΏπ΄
“Now that the big thing is over, I have some information I want to share with you,” Alex said and took out the diary with the cult information and handed it to the Emperor.
Emperor Melvin read the diary, or more like skimmed through it at a rapid pace, and even though his expression didn’t change, the aura around his body went from calm and serene to rage and intense killing intent for a mere moment.
‘I don’t know if he is pissed at the demonic cult or just angry seeing some big names, but who cares? Now I have one less incomplete quest.’ Alex thought, hearing the system notifications.
“Thanks for giving me the names of these filthy scums.” Emperor Melvin said, placing the diary into his space ring.
“Domain Ruler, Do you want to get involved in some thrilling adventure? If you don’t, I understand,” Melvin said after putting on a thoughtful look.
“If you don’t mind, could you also tell me what is happening on a bigger scale?” Alex questioned, hoping to discover some secret stuff happening in the shadows.
“The Demons want to control every continent from the shadows, and unfortunately, their first target is the Human continent because humans have the greatest greed and are easiest to control,” Melvin said calmly and then completely silent, showing his stance.
“So, what quest do you want me to complete,” Alex asked, seeing the Emperor had no plan to reveal too much sensitive information.
“I would like to ask a question first before I tell you my request,” Melvin said, and after taking a deep breath, he continued with his question.
“Do you have any knowledge about Demon Champions?” Melvin asked, and Alex nodded his head in confirmation.
“As you know, the Royal Demons chosen ones are champions, and the Demons protect those individuals, but they could be killed as their contractor could only use limited strength.”
“I want you to kill three such Champions, but they are not the champions of any Royal Demons. They are the Champions of three of the Seven Demon Dukes of Deadly Sins.” Melvin said.
The moment the Emperor finished his sentence, the temperature dropped by a few degrees as a shadow appeared next to Alex.
“Do you know the gravity of what you just said?” Elder Darion said in a chilling tone, every word laced with think-killing intent.
“Little One, You should stay in the shadows if you want to keep your life.” Lady Margaret coldly said, which baffled Alex.
‘What the hell is going on.’ Alex thought, looking at his two guardians, who were reacting way out of their calm character.
Alex knew that Demon’s Dukes were as special as demons could get, and then there was also the added title of Sin, but their mere mention shouldn’t create such a situation.
“I can take a law oath that I am telling the truth,” Melvin calmly said with a smile.
“Take a Law Oath.” Elder Darion spoke, his raging aura calmer than before but still present.
Emperor Melvin didn’t delay and took a law oath, claiming his previous words to be true, and after a few seconds of waiting, there was no punishment proving his words to be true.
“Did you have any encounters with those Champions? And if yes, what do you know about them?” Elder Darion asked.
“We first discovered the presence of the demonic cult eleven years ago, and a year after that, we got intel about a gathering in which one of the higher echelons, a true Royal Demon, would be present.”
“A squad led by a newly promoted Elemental Ruler and seven peak Elementalist Rank warriors were sent to capture the Demon but were all killed without being able to send any intel on the enemy.”
“The next two years passed in which we successfully captured a few true demons, but we didn’t gain much valuable information until one lucky, or, I say, an unlucky day where I received a distract signal from my direct subordinate.”
“The signal was from one of the captions of the demon extermination squad, and so I took two guards of peak Early Stage Elemental Rulers with me and went to the location to let out some steam because I was feeling bored.”
“After we reached the location, all the members of the squads were dead, and at the location, three individuals were waiting, and without delay, I used a legendary sealing array to prevent them from leaving.”
“Those three individuals introduced themselves as the Champions of three Demon Dukes of Deadly Sins, namely being the (Greed, Envy, and Wrath).”
“I didn’t know anything about the Champions, but with their strength only being at the peak of Fifth Rank, I didn’t think anything special of them, and that was quite a big mistake.”
“The time we wasted searching for the hidden demon tropes without worry, the demons used it to activate their sealing array.”
“After the sealing array was completed, the three individuals flung into action, and their bodies were possessed by their contracted Demon pushing their strength to the early stage Elemental Ruler Rank.”
“It was quite a surprise for us, but even after the Boost of Strength, they were no match for my guards and me as we easily dominated the fight.”
“I thought their purpose was to eliminate an Elemental Ruler of my empire to weaken us because this was not the first time the cult had pulled such a trick.”
“This line of thinking was a grave mistake on my part, as the purpose of their setup was to precisely lure me into isolation with as less protection as possible, and today they were successful in it.”
“After a few minutes into the battle, the demons activated the array isolating me from my two guards, and then instantly, all three of them used some unique Law abilities on me before vanishing into dark portals while having a mocking look on their faces.”
“This is a little story behind how I found out about the three Demon Sin Champions, and I believe you already know more than me about demons and champions, so point telling about such meaningless information.”
Melvin concluded his explanation so casually that he didn’t just reveal a lot of sensitive information that could threaten the very existence of his empire.
‘I didn’t know things were so messed up, and now I am not surprised that nothing big happened in my previous life.’ Alex thought as he processed the deeper meaning behind the new info.
