Chapter 407 – The Truth Jasmine Didn’t Know About Her Father
She went to stand at the window abandoning the blankets she used to shield her naked body on the bed.
Jackson climbed out of bed and went to where she stood. He wrapped her up with the blankets.
"Of course, I know how you feel about your old man but I think you are wrong about him. I would like to explain why I said so," Jackson hurriedly completed his sentence before she could cut him short.
"And what do you mean by that?" Jasmine asked turning to look at him.
"Your old man was the one who helped me with the situation in my company. I shouldn't be telling you this since he made me promise not to mention a word to you….,"
"What are you trying to say?" Jasmine asked in shock. She couldn't bring herself to believe what Jackson just said.
"Isn't your company now steady and your position as CEO still stable because of Jane's press conference and her family's help?" Jasmine asked curiously.
"How could a mere statement from a lady calm down the angry investors and the crazy shareholders?" Jackson asked seriously.
"I know you love me a lot but you shouldn't have fallen for that evil lady's scheme. How could your love for me make you so stupid that you had to fall…,"
"Stop joking around because this topic is quite serious than you think," Jasmine scolded in a firm tone.
"When did father intervene and why didn't you tell me about it?" Jasmine asked as she pulled him to the bed. She made him sit on the bed while she sat beside him.
Jackson went ahead to narrate what happened and how Mr Avans got in contact with him.
That night on the same day the news that Jasmine was responsible for the leak, he was so stressed out trying to take care of his company and photos that went viral when Max whispered something into his ears.
At first, he thought Max was playing around but seeing Max serious expression he had to excuse himself and let his teamwork for a few minutes along.
When he got to the parking lounge where Max said the Chairman of Avans Group was waiting for him, he didn't need to search for him since Mr Avans executive assistant was waiting for him.
"Mr Avans is waiting for you in the car, please come with me," Eric said as he urged him on.
What the hell is going on here? Is he here because he wants to tell me to stay away from Jasmine because of what happened?
Jackson walking behind Eric thought as he tried to come up with ways to tell Mr Avans about his feelings for Jasmine without sounding disrespectful.
Reaching the car, Eric opened the door of the car for Jackson and wait outside the car while they discuss.
"Good evening Sir…,"
"You can save that for later. I am here on an urgent business, I don't have a minute to waste," Mr Avans interrupted him coldly. He picked a brown envelope lying beside me and extend it to Jackson.
"When I learned that your company was going through a huge problem I ordered Eric to work on it. I know I shouldn't have meddled in your family affairs but I still did despite knowing this," Mr Avans said in a cold tone.
"I didn't go through all these troubles because I like you but I did this for my stubborn daughter. I know very well that no matter how hard she is struggling she would never ask me for help that is why I choose to help you discreetly," Mr Avans said sounding emotional at the mention of Jasmine's name.
"Also apart from helping you talk to the board members of your company, I also help you to resolve something even more personal," Mr Avans said as he brought out a white envelope from where he picked the previous one. Jackson only listened to him speak.
According to what he knows about Mr Avans he was shocked that someone like him will go out of his way to help him despite that he hasn't asked for his help.
"In that envelope contains information and evidence about those responsible for yours and Jasmine's recent attacks. The information about the one responsible for the leak of your company's project is also in there…,"
"Sir, why are you helping me so much? Why are you giving me the files instead of giving them to the police?" The confused Jackson asked seriously.
"I recall saying that I am doing this for my daughter…," Mr Avans trailed as he turned his head and look out through the window.
"And I am giving you the evidence instead of giving it to the police because I don't want to meddle in the two of you relationship. I want you to be the one to decide what to do with those scums who dare to hurt my darling daughter," Mr Avans said as he punched the driver's seat to relieve his anger.
"I feel like strangling all those who hurt her but I will let you deal with them in whatever way you choose," Mr Avans concluded in a firm tone.
"Sir, can I be so bold as to ask you a question?" Jackson asked politely. He went ahead to ask his question when Mr Avans permitted him to do so.
"Why did you help me and also give me the evidence without Jasmine's knowledge?" Jackson asked curiously.
"I am sure she would have been happy if she knew about this. She might even stop misunderstanding your love for…,"
"She hates me and I am sure she must have told you about this. If she knew I want to help you, she wouldn't hesitate to reject my help which is why I will ask you to keep what happened between us here a secret from her," Mr Avans said sounding sad although he tried not to make it show.
