Chapter 250 - Get Out
Evelyn, Jeff, Steve, Catherine, Elizabeth and her husband all turned to stare at Jasmine to see what her reaction to Jackson's confession will be. They were surprised to see that calm expression on her face.
It took Jane two minutes to get over the shock of Jackson's bold confession.
"Jack, are you even listening to what you are saying? How could you say you love a woman like her? How could you stoop so low to like a woman like her whose reputation with men is known all over the city?" Jane asked as she gave Jasmine a disgusted glance.
Jasmine who saw the way Jane stare at her flipped her hair to show that she caredless about what she or anyone else thinks of her.
"And even though you liked her like you want to make us believe Auntie will never agree to your union...,"
"What do others people opinion of her has to do with the way I feel about her? And is it my mum who is gonna marry her or me?" Jackson asked fiercely. Evelyn felt like applauding Jackson for the reply he just gave Jane.
"It's not my fault that others can't see what I see in her so why should I change my choice to make anyone happy?" Jackson added firmly.
This is exactly the type of man Jasmine needs. I can't help but feel that his attitude is similar to that of Jasmine. If Jasmine really wants to go against dad's plan for her and Kai, he is the only man in the city who I am sure will not be afraid to against our father for her sake. He has made me fall in love even more with his attitude with the way he defended my sister.
Elizabeth thought as she stare at Jackson with admiration visible in her eyes. While Elizabeth was staring at Jackson this way she did not know that Alfred had just turned and stared at her.
"I know you love him for Jasmine but don't make it so obvious. His words are not enough to access him, we still need to test him to make sure that he is the right one for little sister-in-law," Alfred whispered into Elizabeth's ears. Elizabeth just smiled when she heard his words.
"You...,"
"Apologise to Jasmine for what you said about her," Jackson said sternly before Jane could rebuke him.
"I should apologise to her? Never!" Jane said unwaveringly.
"Why should I do that when I am the one who is wronged here? She and her sister slapped me so they should be the one apologising and not me," Jane said standing on the fact that she was not wrong.
"You either choose to apologise to her for insulting her and her family or you get out of here. Choose one," Jackson said in a tone that showed that he was not kidding when he told her to apologise.
"I will never apologise to someone like her," Jane said firmly.
Look at her claiming to be right. I am sure she thinks that Jack is playing. She is still deluding that Jack likes her. I pity her stupidity.
Evelyn thought as she stare at the prideful lady.
"Then get out. Don't make me repeat myself because you won't like what I will do to you if you defy my orders," Jackson said more serious than he has ever been.
With the way he talked, Jane thought maybe he was talking to someone else. It took her a while to accept the cruel reality that Jackson was not talking to anyone else except her.
"Jack, how could you order me out of the room? How could you let yourself get enticed by someone like her? You are way more than this Jack, so how could you do this to me just for her sake?" Jane said acting like she wanted to cry.
"I am sure you don't want to see the cruel side of me right?" Jackson asked when Jane still did not leave the room as he ordered.
"You are being very unfair to me Jack. You are no different from them. If someone had told me that you of all people will join everyone else to bully me I wouldn't have believed it," Jane said with misty eyes as she turned to walk out of the room. The moment she want to walk past where Evelyn stood, Evelyn, extend her leg at the last minute. Jane who bumped into her leg almost feel had she not managed to stabilise herself.
Jane who knew that Evelyn's action was deliberate only turned and glared at her before she stomped out of the room in fiery.
How dare she look down on sister-in-law in a place which is filled with people who adores her? Didn't she know that it was suicidal? She should be grateful Evelyn decided to stay out of the issue because I am sure that she would have suffered more than she did.
Jeff thought grinning in satisfaction.
"Jasmine, I am sorry that you had to hear such words from her mouth....,"
"You are not the one who said those words so why are you apologising?" Jasmine asked raising her gaze to stare at him.
"I am used to hearing such words so there is no need for you to feel terrible because her words do not affect me," Jasmine said as she walked past him and went to sit on the bed.
"Guys, stop giving me that look because I am fine. If I were to easily get affected by what unimportant people say then I am sure I would have committed suicide since I hear such words from idlers all the time," Jasmine said in a carefree tone when she saw how they were staring at her.
"Instead of just standing there staring at me, get me discharged. Staying in the same space for a long time feels so suffocated so kind Big Sis and brother-in-law, get me discharged. Don't forget we are supposed to board the plane back home today," Jasmine said care-freely to show them that she was alright. Actually, Jane's earlier words did not affect her and this is because she knew it was words from a jealous and frustrated lady. If she had only insulted her, she wouldn't resort to slapping her but how dare she insults her beloved elder sister and her innocent parents. Who gives her the right to judge her parents?
