Chapter 176 - Did You Prepare This?
"What do his words mean?" Jasmine thought aloud as she stares at his departing back. She quickly followed him when he saw that he was a far distance away from her.
Jasmine joined Jackson in the elevator.
After she entered the elevator Jackson standing at her back stretched and press the button. Their journey to the rooftop was very quiet.
"Wow, it is pretty," Jasmine remarked the moment they reached the rooftop. She stares at the flowers surrounding the entire rooftop. The colourful lights decorated around the flowers added so much beauty to it.
"There are also scented candles here. Is this how the rooftop is originally is or did someone decorated it for a proposal or celebration of happy events?" Jasmine asked as she stares at the heart shape decorated with a red and white scented candle.
"Do you like it?" Jackson asked ignoring her question.
"Although it was not prepared for me, I love it. I find it very romantic," Jasmine said as she walked closer to the heart shape decoration on the floor. The rose petals spread on the floor looks very beautiful.
"That is such a relief," Jackson mumbled thinking that Jasmine standing some distance away from him would not hear.
"What do you mean? Are you the one who prepared it?" Jasmine asked as she turned and walk closer to him. She closed the gaps between them.
"Did you prepare this?" Jasmine asked staring at Jackson whose gaze was at different places at the same time.
"Why are you avoiding my stares?" Jasmine asked as she raised her right hand and turn his face around so that he was staring at her.
"Did you set up this place? If yes, then why?" Jasmine asked, staring right into his eyeballs.
"What are you saying? Of course, it is not me. I might be smart in every other aspect but when it comes to romance I am bad at it. I am sure you know this," Jackson said in a serious tone. His tone and expression looked so convincing.
"If that is true then why did you avoid my stares? Don't you know that it made you look suspicious?" Jasmine asked still staring into his eyes.
"I didn't know, I was just busy doing what I promised you. I didn't know I came out looking suspicious," Jackson said as he walked slowly towards the edge of the rooftop.
"Do I stir up your heart so much that you can't avoid looking at me anymore?" Jasmine asked as she walked and stood beside him.
"Jasmine, what was your dream man in the past? I said past because you said you no longer believe in relationships," Jackson said as he waited for her reply.
"My dream man? What was it again? It has been so long that I can't remember...,"
"How long has it been?" Jasmine interrupted her meekly.
"Five years," Jasmine replied without any hesitation.
"Back then the qualities I seek in a man was quite simple. I just needed a man who loves me very much. I didn't care about designers clothes, shoes, jewels and so on. All I wanted was someone who loved me for who I am but after what happened I guess finding someone who loves me for what I am is impossible," Jasmine said trying to hide her sadness.
"Why are you doubting yourself? You shouldn't let your self-esteem be crushed because of what one jerk did. He didn't see any good in you because he never deserved you. Although I don't know who the jerk is I can confidently beat my hand on my chest and tell you that you were too good for the scumbag," Jackson said to the surprise of Jasmine who never expected him to speak so highly of her.
"Although you are too bold, you are super fun to be with and I love this bold part of you...,"
"I meant no man in his right senses will not like a bold lady who can fight for herself and those she loves wherever she is. Your confidence and elegance are one of your charms. No matter what anyone says, don't change yourself for anyone, not even for the man you will love in the future. You taught me this so you should also practice it," Jackson said as he stares at her face.
"You are the first man to speak nicely about me after all the torture you went through in my hands...,"
"Maybe I am this way because you went easy on me," Jackson replied with smiles on his handsome face.
"Did I go easy on you? I don't think so," Jasmine staring at him too with her right hand resting against the iron bar said.
"What about you, what is your dream woman?" Jasmine asked seriously as she glare at him.
"The sky is so beautiful. The stars are shining so brightly...,"
"Yeah the sky is indeed lovely but answer my question first," Jasmine said as she rubs her hands when the cold night breeze hits her bare skin.
"You look cold," Jackson said as he took off his suit and gave it to her. Jasmine readily collected the suit from him since she needed it to shield her from the coldness of the night breeze.
"Answer my question now. If you refuse to give me an answer I won't talk to you again...,"
"I have never cared about a lady's background. As long as I love her every other thing or factor is unimportant. The next quality I want in a lady is confidence. As the wife of a business tycoon like me, she will inevitably attend parties and other functions with me and I would love her to look confident all the time," Jackson said his eyes still centred at her. He wanted to so much tell her that he has found that dream woman of his but he couldn't bring himself to do it.
"I like straightforward ladies. I love ladies, who will say let's make love or let's kiss and not those who will beat around the bush. I hate ladies who pretend to be a saint just to gain my affection. I like women who are faithful and has a good character," Jackson concluded firmly.
"Why is it that it is everything your fiance is what you hate? How are you both gonna get along when you get married if she is the opposite of what you desire in a lady?" Jasmine asked in a firm tone.
