Chapter 103 - Where Is My Contract?
"I will even though you didn't tell me," Jasmine said with pride as she opened the envelope. After bringing out the contract she began reading it. She turned and shot Jackson a murderous glare when she saw that the thing in her hand wasn't her contract.
"That is why I told you to open it," Jackson said carefreely as he shrugs his shoulders.
"Where is my contract...,"
"Right in front of you," Jackson said staring at the brown envelope lying on the brown table. Curious to see what was there, Jasmine followed his line of sight. She smiled triumphantly when her eyes met the brown envelope on the table. She quickly stretched her hand to pick it up but before her hand could reach the brown envelope someone had already grabbed it and pulled it away.
"Before you get your contract, you need to sign mine. I know you agreed to my conditions, I am a businessman after all so I can't afford to take risks. I won't be able to take you to court for theft if you run away with the contract without signing mine so let's make our agreement legal. As soon as you sign on my contract I will hand over yours to you, isn't that fair enough?" Jackson asked as he stares at the murderous glances directed at him.
"For how long did you plan to make me your chef? I mean you can't tell me you made it today so spill the beans Ice Prince? Did you know on our first meeting who I was even though I didn't reveal my family's name?" Jasmine asked in a serious tone.
"You are the first woman who has ever capture my heart and interest so how could I not recognise you?" These were the words on his mind while staring keenly at her.
"Are you going to sign it or not?" Jackson ignored her question. Jasmine just stares at him not uttering a word. She continues staring at him for two minutes.
"Of course I will sign it," Jasmine said as she picked up the black fountain pen on the glass table and scribble down her name and signature.
"Are you happy now?" Jasmine asked as she handed him the signed contract.
More than happy. If there is another word greater than happy that could explain my feeling right now then that is exactly how I feel.
Jackson thought, his lips curling into an evil smile.
"This is yours, are you happy now?" Jackson asked her the same questioned as he gave her the brown envelope.
"How could I not be happy when I worked my ass off to get it. You don't know the number of sleepless nights I pulled through just to get this goddamn contract you snatched away from me. You even had the guts to negotiate with me with my hard-earned contract," Jasmine who has opened the envelope and confirm that the content was indeed her contract said with gritted teeth.
I had to wait for six months for the opportunity to get you to notice me so how could I miss the opportunity when I learned about your bet with your father. I guess I should thank that old man for making such a bet with his daughter.
Jackson thought. Although his expression was blank as always he felt so happy. He felt so happy not because he has gotten what he wants but because he has given her what she desires.
"Believe it or not, I also worked very hard to get the senile old man to give me the contract," Jackson said seriously.
"Both parties have gotten what they wanted so the deal is fair to both sides," Jackson added.
"I have spent longer time more than I had planned so I better leave now," Jasmine said as she stood up to leave.
"Your job to cook me dinner thrice a week starts today so where are you going to?" Jackson asked standing up from the couch.
"To face slap someone who had the guts to get on my nerves just because I failed to get the contract," Jasmine said turning to look at him.
"And didn't you say you had a meeting....,"
"I can cancel it," Jackson replied firmly.
"Ok, but I am still leaving. It is not anywhere close to dinner so you can't force me to stay and cook for you," Jasmine said as she walked away.
"One more thing...," Jasmine halted when she was at the exit. She turned to face him.
"For daring to steal my contract from me, I will get back at you. I, Jasmine Avans is not the forgiving type so look forward to what my punishments will be. I don't even know what I will do to you but all you should know is that it is gonna be thrilling," Jasmine said smirking wickedly before she left the room.
"She is fierce, mean, scary but also fun. I love her so much and I will make sure she loves me too," Jackson murmured as he stares down at the contract lying on the table.
After Jasmine left, Jackson went into his bathroom and shower. He did all the necessary things before he went downstairs. All the way he was smiling to himself. Seeing how their boss was humming his favourite tune, his employees knew that their usual cold boss was in a good mood. They were happy to witness a change in his attitude. To make his celebration complete he drank an entire bottle of wine within two hours.
Jeff and Steve on the other hand were so worried about him. They both waited for his calls. For fear that things might not have gone as planned, they dare not call his line first. They are witnesses of how hard Jackson had worked just so he could realise his dreams of making Jasmine his woman. The two of them knows him best. They knew he would be in his worst mood if Jasmine gets the contract from him without him getting what he wants. He might even kill his employees if they dare disturb him at that state of mind, they were sure of it.
Jasmine on leaving Jackson's mansion went to her home, dress up in her most alluring outfit and set out immediately. After about thirty minutes of the steady ride, she stopped in front of a twenty-four glass storey building with the title Avans Group boldly imprinted on the wall of the building. The outside of the building was extravagant just like the building itself. The fortune water in the middle was a beautiful sight to behold not to mention other wonderful decorations situated at the right places to make the outside of the building look spectacular.
Jasmine who was on a mission was in no mood to admire the beautiful scenery of the huge company. She walked elegantly into the building flipping her hair at intervals to give the seductive vibes.
Passersby could not resist taking a second glance at the gorgeously dressed lady who gives off the vibes of a goddess. Employees on the ground floor on sighting the second Young Miss who hardly visits the company all gathered to greet her. Jasmine who didn't have a minute to spare asked them to return to their various desk after responding to their greetings. She approached the elevators afterwards. The moment she left some of the employees began to gossip.
"Are the rumours that the second Young Miss is going to start working here correct?" A lady whose hair was tied into a messy bun asked her accomplices curiously. The lady was in her early thirties, she was renowned for her gossiping habits.
"For her to be here, I guess the rumours are true," a guy dressed in a black suit replied staring in the direction of the elevator.
"Isn't it a known fact that second Young Miss hates working in the family's company? Isn't that the reason she opened a game company?" A young lady who seems to be in her early twenties and wears a green dress asked curiously.
"So what if she hates working for her dad, can she win against him? The boss is influential so no matter how hard she tries she will always end up obeying him. He is her dad after all," another lady said.
"If she had thought that she could win over the Chairman then that is just her wishful thinking," another lady wearing a white long sleeve shirt said. Just then Alfred walked past and on seeing him, they all dispersed.
Back on the fifth floor, Jasmine walked elegantly towards the direction of the CEO's office. When she got to the Secretary's desk, the Secretary stopped her.
"Young Miss, the CEO is on an important phone call," The Secretary said hurriedly.
"What I have here is more important than the goddamn phone call. Your boss will be thrilled to see it but if you are not convince try to stop me if you can," Jasmine said as she walked past the secretary's desk and approach the entrance to the CEO's office.
