Miss Witch’s Devotion Has Gone… Twisted
Chapter 615: Loren: I Am a Saint
As he spoke, the demon's words were filled with mockery, as if Loren had just said something ridiculous.
He stood up, lowered his head, and looked down at Loren from above, but Loren didn't bother to raise his eyes to meet him.
"Humans are truly hypocritical... you constantly devour other creatures, yet you forbid eating humans..."
The demon continued his verbal assault, for attacking others' hearts was also a demon's specialty.
But Loren didn't break down and curse as the demon had anticipated, nor did he rush to defend himself. He simply said calmly:
"Your head is too high..."
"What?"
The demon couldn't comprehend Loren's words for a moment and instinctively blurted out the question.
And Loren truly repeated himself:
"I said, your head is too high."The next moment, Loren swung the Requiem, directly cleaving the demon before him in half at the waist.
When the Requiem sliced through, the demon didn't even notice what had happened, until his upper body slid off and crashed to the ground.
Now it was Loren's turn to look down at him. At this moment, the demon's face was filled with shock, still unaware of what had transpired.
Since he was also a Follower of Pain, he felt no pain at this moment.
"Much easier on the eyes now."
Loren sheathed the Requiem and drew out the Bloody Battle.
Sensing the danger, the demons all rose to their feet, though not to counterattack, but to flee.
Yet before they could run far, Loren snapped his fingers, and the demons attempting to escape instantly lost their legs.
They crashed heavily to the ground, collapsing into pools of their own blood.
Blood had a lubricating effect, causing them to keep slipping, unable even to prop up their own bodies.
Such methods, combined with Loren's appearance, immediately made the demons guess his identity:
"It's Loren..."
Some demon muttered in a low voice, completely extinguishing the demons' hopes.
If it were an unknown powerful figure, they might still have a chance to fight back.
But they were facing Loren. They knew very well that Loren had countless ways to toy with them to death, and sparing their lives now meant he had other purposes in mind.
"Actually, regarding your cannibalism, I can't condemn you from a moral standpoint.
"As long as you don't live in human society, enjoy the conveniences of human society, and then spout this kind of nonsense, then there's no problem.
"After all, you're not humans, just beasts."
Loren walked up to the demon whose head lay before him, raised the Bloody Battle, and directly slammed the flat of the blade into his face.
Instantly, the demon's teeth flew out, but at least he managed to keep his life.
They didn't understand why Loren had suddenly started saying all this, but at least Loren hadn't killed them outright, so they were willing to listen.
"When humans are eaten by you, it's no different from being eaten by a tiger. There's no way to condemn it from a moral standpoint.
"But tigers that bite people in zoos are euthanized, and beasts that harm people are hunted to extinction by humans."
Hearing Loren's words, the group of demons grew tense, but even so, few dared to resist.
At this moment, Loren suddenly changed his tone:
"But, I'm a Saint at heart, and I'm willing to give you all a chance."
"Thank you, Master Mentor!"
One demon suddenly prostrated himself on the ground, making a kowtowing gesture, and the other demons followed suit one after another.
"Thank you, Master Mentor..."
Even the demon who had just been smacked flying by Loren hastily adjusted his posture and began to kowtow.
Demons themselves had strong self-healing abilities, and with the blessing of the God of Pain, although the half of his body that Loren had cut off still couldn't regenerate, at least he could hold onto his life.
As long as he could keep living, that was the greatest fortune within misfortune.
Loren raised the Bloody Battle and sent the demon who had just struggled back up flying again. He was the leader, so naturally he had committed the most evil deeds.
"I forgive you. I hope you'll cultivate virtue and good deeds from now on, cast aside all negative emotions, and atone for your sins."
Loren wore a humble expression as he traced an Inverted Cross over his chest.
"Yes..."
The demon imitated Loren's gesture, but instinctively traced a thorny spike, the symbol of the God of Pain.
So Loren gave him another smack across the face with the Bloody Battle.
"Trace the Inverted Cross with me. This is the symbol of the Perpetual Observer. For your carelessness just now, I forgive you once more."
"Yes..."
This time, the demon followed suit exactly, like the most devout believer, and Loren nodded in satisfaction.
The second forgiveness held no meaning, because he had already lost all hostility during the first forgiveness.
But forgiving the other demons was still useful.
So Loren, wielding the Bloody Battle, went through the process of smacking and forgiving one by one, until he had knocked this group of small fry completely askew.
These demons were actually quite powerful, it was just that Loren's strength was so absurdly overpowered that they couldn't demonstrate their might at all.
They were warriors among demons, far stronger than the group Loren had slaughtered in the village before.
Thus, after forgiving them all, the Bloody Battle had completely lost its edge, nearly reduced to a strip of iron.
Loren knew that the final step toward the Bloody Battle's complete transformation was now within reach.
"Alright, you can leave now."
Loren sheathed his blade, planning to kill them after they departed. But just then, Anna suddenly walked over:
"Master Mentor, the Plague Believers have all been killed, not a single one left, and the captives have all been released... Can I kill this group of demons? I haven't killed many demons yet."
Anna's appearance extinguished the faint hope that had risen in the demons' hearts, plunging them into utter despair. They knew clearly that they wouldn't survive this.
If it were simply Anna wanting to kill them, they wouldn't have died. They knew that the Witches obeyed Loren's every word and never went against his wishes.
But the problem was that Loren had the Witches kill every last Plague Believer, and their sins were far deeper than those Plague Believers.
Since Loren hadn't spared the Plague Believers, how could he possibly spare them?
Loren wasn't like those female Bountiful followers who worshipped demons so much that they willingly offered themselves up. How could he possibly treat them favorably?
Sure enough, Loren's next words confirmed their speculations:
"Alright, then you go ahead."
Loren yawned and turned to leave:
"Hurry it up."
"Wait..."
The group of demons tried to say something, but the blood within their bodies was forcibly drained out, turning them into mummified corpses one by one.
Before the other demons could even feel fear, they too were drained dry.
"Demon blood isn't really any different from ordinary people's..."
Anna observed the extracted blood, and apart from being a bit hotter in temperature, there was nothing special about it.
So Anna simply released her control over the blood, letting it fall naturally to the ground, then followed Loren's footsteps.
Anna's Arcane Ability was highly recognizable, so she used Return to Earth to clean up the corpses.
...
On the other side, Loren was tallying up the spoils of war. They had discovered an astonishingly large amount of grain here, grain that wasn't produced within the God of Bountiful Harvest's territory.
