Miss Witch, It's Time to Clean the Entries
Chapter 95 - 91: A Person of Passion
Chapter 95: Chapter 91: A Person of Passion
Lian successfully removed the red entries from the two Investigation Team members, earning 200 Points.
The Points for [Forest Spirit Invitation] were actually lower than those for [Infected with the Plague] and [Tree Monster Curse], which suddenly made Lian feel that the Spirit of the Forest had lost some of its prestige.
But it wasn’t hard to understand. The harm from [Forest Spirit Invitation] only targeted one person, whereas [Infected with the Plague] and [Tree Monster Curse] could harm those nearby.
In terms of how dangerous they were, the latter two were a cut above.
After all, [Forest Spirit Invitation] wasn’t a curse in the truest sense, but rather a "friendly invitation" from the Spirit of the Forest.
You could either stay, or leave your life behind.
The Spirit of the Forest was certainly a creature of passion.
After removing the red entries from the two Investigation Team members, they miraculously regained their youth.
This came as a pleasant surprise to Lian.
He wasn’t just happy for Tahid and Weber Aswede; he was thrilled to have found a way to quickly get closer to the God of Tiger.
The Southern Army force stationed in the Bone Forest numbered nearly 30,000. Even after subtracting the dead and seriously wounded Guards, there were still over 20,000.
’If every single one of them gets an invitation from the Spirit of the Forest, couldn’t I easily rake in over two million Points?’
’Most importantly, the God of Tiger has my back, so the Spirit of the Forest’s projection can’t come into other people’s Illusion Realms to mess with me!’
’This is a business that’s all profit, no loss!’
’On top of that, as long as the [Forest Spirit Invitation] entry is removed, the Guards will regain their youth!’
’In other words, the Guards don’t lose anything. At most, they just get a taste of old age.’
’As long as I manage the timing properly, sending out one batch and cleaning up one batch at a time...’
’...then there won’t be any accidents!’
’Suppose people receive the [Forest Spirit Invitation] when they leave the forest. I clear it when they return. Then they leave again and receive it, and return again for me to clear it!’
’The Spirit of the Forest will become my perpetual motion machine for Entry Points!’
’An endless supply! This is even better than conquering the entire Skeleton Monster territory!’
Suddenly, Lian wasn’t in a hurry to fight Skeleton Soldiers anymore.
He decided to adjust his plan: first, he would hoard a pile of Points to increase his strength, then go to the East District to capture a Skeleton Wizard, and then hoard another pile of Points!
Lian had the Guards go and meet Alex Pool, bringing the entire supply convoy into the Bone Forest.
Although Alex Pool was somewhat apprehensive, he still chose to stand with his Lord through thick and thin.
In fact, Alex Pool had already prepared for the worst. At worst, he would just never be able to leave the Bone Forest for the rest of his life.
But in that case, they could raze the Bone Forest and make it part of the Green Shade Territory.
Then they would still be living in the Green Shade Territory, they’d just have to be careful about how far they traveled.
Of course, this was the worst-case scenario.
After Alex Pool saw Lian, this worst-case scenario completely vanished from his mind.
Because he received good news from Lian.
Lian’s teacher, Pinocchio, had once taught him how to treat the "Aging Disease."
This so-called "Aging Disease" was caused by a certain aging pathogen contracted in the Bone Forest. It would lie dormant in the body for a period before flaring up. As long as it was treated in time, there would be no mishaps. It could even let people experience a taste of old age in advance, making them cherish their present lives even more.
After hearing Lian’s explanation, Alex Pool’s admiration for the great healer, Mr. Pinocchio, grew even stronger.
’I wonder if I’ll ever have the good fortune to meet this great healer in my lifetime.’
’He has single-handedly elevated the backward medical practices of the Holy Empire to an unprecedented new height.’
’Although his methods can’t be widely adopted.’
’Because it seems his only disciple is Lord Lian, and this sole successor is the Lord of the Green Shade Territory.’
’This blessing is destined to remain only within the Green Shade Territory.’
The next day, the rejuvenated Tahid and Weber Aswede were unconventionally promoted to deputy leaders of the Investigation Team, each leading a small team of 20 people.
Having survived the ordeal, the two not only gained honor but also received promotions and raises, which greatly diluted the sorrow of witnessing their comrades’ deaths.
Subsequently, Lian paused the strategy of attacking the East District of the Bone Forest. The army held the captured Eastern District 1, periodically clearing out Skeleton Soldiers but not expanding further. He then began granting leave to the entire Southern Army in batches.
The leave period was two days. Subtracting the one day of travel time, they would have 24 hours to enjoy themselves within the High Wall.
This was also the safe time limit Lian had calculated. Any later, and they couldn’t be saved.
Only 100 people were allowed to take leave at a time, and they had to return to the Bone Forest within the specified period.
Tahid and Weber Aswede were also on the list for the first batch of leave.
The men of the Southern Army supported Lian even more fervently. Who ever heard of an army granting its Guards leave in the middle of a war? Lian was probably the only one.
Although Kob didn’t understand why Lian was doing this, he firmly stated that he would not take leave and would always remain by Lian’s side.
Meanwhile, Father Simo and Sister Sally, who desperately wanted a vacation, were not included on the list.
Before the Guards departed, Lian told everyone in advance about the symptoms of the "Aging Disease." It became a consensus among the Guards that they must immediately return to the Bone Forest for treatment upon discovering any symptoms.
Therefore, for most of the Guards, getting a vacation was the same as not getting one.
They would basically leave the Bone Forest, cheerfully head to a pastry shop near the High Wall, feel their bodies aging, realize they were helpless, and then hurry back to the Bone Forest to have Lord Lian save their lives.
The Guards’ leave was too short to go home, so they could only go to the street of pastry shops closest to the High Wall to seek some physical comfort.
The first batch of Guards on leave rushed back to the Green Shade Territory. Lian worked overtime, Cleaning the Entries for 98 people. As for Tahid and Weber Aswede, they did not receive the [Forest Spirit Invitation] entry again.
Perhaps the Spirit of the Forest didn’t want to be endlessly exploited for free by Lian. This disappointed Lian slightly.
As for the Goblin Princess, Julia, she waited two more full days for Lian. When she realized Lian had no intention of entering her tent, she had no choice but to leave the human military camp with her Maids and return to the Goblin headquarters.
Lian even brought his fiancée, Catherine, to personally see Julia off, engaging in a public display of affection the whole way and leaving Julia with considerable psychological trauma.
Though Lian didn’t want to provoke Her Highness Princess so much, who could he blame but her for having ill intentions and trying to forcibly change his aesthetic tastes?
Lian spent the next period of time quite comfortably.
During the day, he was busy "treating" the Guards and clearing 100 entries. At night, he would accompany his fiancée Catherine to "Clean Entries."
So as not to disturb Lian, Sophie would stand guard outside the tent every time.
This made Lian feel a little guilty, so to compensate the innocent Miss Witch, he would take the time to pick wildflowers and make a wreath for Sophie, fulfilling his promise to give her a wreath every day.
This made Sophie very happy. She liked wreaths, but she liked the wreaths made by Lian’s own hands even more.
The clever Catherine could naturally see that Lian’s feelings for the Ice Witch were unusual, but she knew the Witch could never become an obstacle between herself and Lian.
Besides, she hadn’t been able to get out of bed for the past few days, so she was in no mood to care about what Lian was doing during the day.
A week later, Lian had successfully accumulated 70,000 Points and redeemed the [Silver Believers] entry, which was worth 41,000 Points.
