Miss Witch, It's Time to Clean the Entries
Chapter 93 - 89: Sophie’s Unexpected Intervention
Chapter 93: Chapter 89: Sophie’s Unexpected Intervention
Outside Lian’s tent, the maid Mina was anxiously pacing.
She was worried that Catherine Rochelle Hernandez Mehelban Jackson was being taken advantage of by Lian.
Knight Kage Mori, on the other hand, maintained a stern expression, his eyes fixed straight ahead. He was playing the part of ’I see nothing, I hear nothing, I know nothing.’
"Lord Kage, are we really not going in?"
Mina asked nervously.
"This is Miss Catherine’s own choice."
Kage said.
"But..."
Mina finally lowered her head, no longer complaining or anxious. She silently stood guard outside the tent, fulfilling the duties of a maid.
She knew there was nothing she could do.
Catherine was Lian’s fiancée to begin with. Besides, hadn’t she traveled from the Green Shade Territory all the way to the Bone Forest just to see him?
It was only natural for their relationship to become more intimate.
’She was just a lowly maid. What right or reason did she have to be jealous?’
When the silver-haired girl, Sophie, returned, she found that the light in Lian’s tent was out.
She was a little surprised. Usually, at this time, Lian would wait for her to come back before they rested.
Although the two had never been intimate, they almost always rested in the same room, sharing a close bond.
Usually, it was either Sophie waiting for Lian, or Lian waiting for Sophie.
They would look at each other and gently say good night.
’Why is the light already out when I’m not even back yet?’
Puzzled, Sophie walked to the entrance of the tent, only to be blocked by Mina and Knight Kage Mori.
"Lady Ice Witch, Miss Catherine and Lord Lian have already gone to rest."
Mina said with great reluctance.
In her heart, she actually adored the beautiful Miss Catherine. If she were a man, she would have gladly become Miss Catherine’s knight.
Unfortunately, she was just a maid and could only do such trivial things.
Sophie tilted her head, looking at Mina in confusion.
The knight then remembered Lian’s prior instructions: if Sophie returned, he was to take her to a nearby tent to rest.
"Lady Ice Witch, please follow me. We have prepared a separate tent for you."
Sophie was led to an empty tent.
’I don’t quite understand. All I did was go reinforce the ice room, so why can’t I go back?’
’Why would Miss Catherine suddenly come to the Bone Forest?’
Sophie lay on the bed, tossing and turning.
Even the Kingfisher singing by her ear couldn’t pique her interest.
In the middle of the night, Sophie returned to Lian’s tent after all.
For a Witch, she could easily enter any place she wished.
No one could stop her.
At this moment, Catherine was utterly exhausted, but Lian was still the very picture of "the golden spear that never falls."
But he suddenly felt the surrounding temperature seem to drop.
A sense of foreboding rose abruptly.
Lian looked back and, just as he expected, saw the silver-haired girl’s cold and stunningly beautiful face.
Sophie was looking at him and Catherine with curiosity.
Her beautiful eyes were filled with ignorance and bewilderment.
In the world of Witches, this sort of education was lacking.
One reason was the belief that they didn’t need such "unclean" worldly teachings. The other was the belief that they had no use for it; after all, the law explicitly forbade Witches from marrying, so what was the point of learning such things?
So, when Sophie saw Lian drenched in sweat and Catherine with her hair disheveled, cheeks flushed, and clothes in disarray...
...she was reminded of Anna, Annie, and herself.
Her first thought was that Lian was performing a "Cleaning Entry" on Catherine.
’No wonder no one was allowed in, and the light was turned off.’
Understanding that Lian was busy with important business—saving the girl on the bed—Sophie suddenly felt that she had arrived at an inconvenient time.
She hesitantly walked to Lian’s side, wiped the sweat from his brow with a handkerchief, and then quietly lay back down on her own small bed.
This series of actions left Lian completely bewildered.
’Suddenly, I have no idea what to do next.’
The innocent Miss Witch put immense pressure on Lian.
’Should I keep going or not?’
Although he had already hit several home runs, the miraculous Goblin potion meant Lian didn’t feel the slightest bit tired. In fact, he even wanted to continue.
But Catherine clearly couldn’t take it anymore. She was a delicate rose; how could she possibly endure this for so long?
When she saw Sophie come in, she didn’t feel the slightest bit of resentment. Instead, she felt that she was about to be saved—that someone had finally arrived to share some of the burden.
But Sophie merely wiped Lian’s sweat, lay down on the small bed nearby, and quietly pulled the covers over herself.
This whole sequence of events left Catherine confused as well.
’What on earth did she come back for?’
’It couldn’t be for Learning, could it?’
’Suddenly, Catherine felt that the Ice Witch Sophie was not normal. To intervene in a situation like this just to wipe Lian’s sweat! It was nothing like the legends said. Did she not understand what adoration was at all?’
’Lian wasn’t normal either. What kind of man could last this long? Doesn’t he get tired? Or am I just too ignorant, and all males are like this?’
’And I’m not normal either. As Lian’s fiancée, I should be thinking about having him all to myself, but right now, my lack of physical strength has me wanting to call for reinforcements.’
Lian and Catherine exchanged a glance and, with a tacit understanding, brought things to a close.
Thanks to Catherine’s efforts, Lian’s mind was no longer occupied with thoughts of Goblins.
Though he was left wanting more, he was still full of gratitude, his body and mind content.
He gently helped Catherine get dressed and then cast a Healing Technique on her.
Although it was just a common Healing Technique used by High Level Believers, it could restore one’s spirits and recover their Physical Strength.
Seeing the color return to Catherine’s face, Lian asked,
"Why did you come here?"
Catherine lifted her eyes and said in a low voice,
"I know everything. The Spirit of the Forest has trapped you in the Bone Forest. This is all because of me. I can’t watch you bear this curse alone. I’m your fiancée; I should always be with you, even if our fate is to be trapped in the Bone Forest forever, waiting for death."
Catherine had spoken what were, to Lian, the most moving words of love.
Only then did he realize what had happened.
The members of the investigation team he had sent out must have returned to the Green Shade Territory, and they must have indeed undergone some strange transformation.
Catherine must have received the news and rushed to the Bone Forest without stopping, ready to share in his hardships.
Catherine knew that Lian was her last pillar of support. If something happened to him, her quest for revenge would be utterly hopeless, which was why she was willing to risk everything.
If they survived together, their bond would become even stronger.
If they died together in the Bone Forest, then that could only be attributed to fate.
Catherine had never feared death. She feared being abandoned, being left all alone again.
She had already lost her dear friend Dora; she didn’t want to lose her fiancé as well.
"Catherine, thank you."
Lian wanted to let Catherine rest alone, so as he was leaving the tent, he woke Sophie up.
He just felt it wasn’t quite right to have the two of them stay together.
Catherine fell into a deep sleep. After Lian left the tent, her maid Mina was allowed inside to take care of her.
Beside Knight Kage Mori stood two men in black cloaks.
They wore the uniforms of the Green Shade Territory’s Southern Army, their faces hidden beneath their hoods. Upon seeing Lian emerge from the tent, they immediately dropped to one knee.
"Lord Lian, we... have returned."
