Chapter 904: Huo Yao Didn’t Seem Like A Liar
Fang Chen shook his head. “Huo Yao is my mother’s friend’s daughter. She isn’t from the Apothecaries’ Association.”
If she was from the Apothecaries’ Association, the Pei family’s eldest son would have known her and things between them would not have gotten so intense.
“I see. I thought she was from the Apothecaries’ Association for a moment there.” Li Fang put down the teacup. “She seems quite young. Is she still in school?”
“She is the top scholar for the national college entrance exam. Also, she had guaranteed placement at Tsing University,” sighed Fang Chen.
The moment Li Fang heard this, he looked amazed. “Is she that good?”
Fang Chen smiled. “That’s right. She is an outstanding girl.”
Li Fang went into a daze. No wonder Fang Chen trusted the young woman so much. She was genuinely very impressive.
A thought emerged in Li Fang’s mind, so he turned to look at Fang Chen and said, “You are not getting any younger. When are you going to start dating?”
Fang Chen’s smile froze instantly.
Why did the subject of the conversation suddenly take this turn?
**
The next day, Fang Chen got a private doctor to draw a blood sample from Li Fang. After placing it in a special container and closing the lid, he told Lin Shuwen to send it to Huo Yao.
Huo Yao did not have the right apparatus to test the blood at home, but the university was bound to have one in the laboratory block, so she went to ask Liu Qian about it.
Ever since Liu Qian saw the successful comparative test results on his computer a couple of days ago, he kept thinking about why it suddenly worked out. The moment he saw Huo Yao, a bold notion emerged in his mind.
“Were you the one who corrected the data in the test scenario on the computer?”
Liu Qian looked at Huo Yao intently as he asked as though he was trying to read every micro-expression on her face.
“What test scenario?” Huo Yao’s eyes looked bright and unsullied and did not seem to be lying.
Liu Qian instantly felt puzzled in his heart, but he did not keep harping on the subject. “Oh yes. Did you want to know if Biology students had full access to the laboratory block?”
Huo Yao nodded.
“You do have access, but you need to apply for it first. Typically, students are only given access to the laboratories if they are from the same faculties. Since inter-faculty research does exist, we aren’t very strict about access. If you have a legitimate use for it, access can be granted.”
Liu Qian paused and looked at Huo Yao after he finished explaining the situation. “Why did you suddenly ask about this? What kind of experiment are you planning to run?”
Huo Yao pondered before she answered. “I am not doing an experiment. I just want to study some blood samples.”
Liu Qian felt startled by what she said. People who did blood sample analysis needs were generally medically trained.
“Mr. Liu, may I apply to use the apparatus then?” asked Huo Yao.
Liu Qian pondered briefly before he said, “In that case, I will give the Life Science teacher a call.”
Huo Yao answered. “Okay.”
Liu Qian took out his phone and went to the side to make a call. After talking briefly on the phone, he came back and asked Huo Yao. “When do you want to use it?”
Huo Yao raised her head. “I can go now.”
Before long, Liu Qian hung up the phone and looked at Huo Yao. “I have spoken to the teacher. I will give you a permission slip to use it. Just show it to the teacher in charge of the laboratory block when you get there.”
“Thank you, Mr. Liu.” Huo Yao nodded.
Liu Qian smiled. “You are welcome.”
He turned to walk over to the computer and printed a laboratory permission slip and signed it before handing it to Huo Yao. “Go ahead and use it.”
