The beam unleashed by Zog, the Angel of Radical Destruction, hammered relentlessly against Mechagodzilla’s energy barrier. Though the sheer force drove the massive machine steadily backward, it wasn’t enough to shatter the shield completely. Mechagodzilla’s colossal frame plowed a deep trench through the earth, crushing countless buildings into rubble along the way.

“Wait, they aren’t on the same side?”

Struggling to pull themselves up from the ground, Gaia and Agul stared at the clash between Zog and Mechagodzilla in pure disbelief. The moment Mechagodzilla had appeared, both of them assumed it was Zog’s backup. Now, it was obvious that wasn’t the case at all.

As soon as the Angel of Radical Destruction’s barrage let up, Mechagodzilla launched its counterattack. The power core in its chest hummed loudly as it charged up. Countless glowing blue high-energy particles materialized out of thin air, surging into Mechagodzilla’s maw to form a sphere of eerie blue light crackling with lightning.

ROAR!!

Mechagodzilla let out a thunderous roar as the particle stream converged, unleashing a blinding brilliance that drowned out the entire sky.

Hovering high above, Zog flared the wings of light on her back, erupting with a dazzling “auspicious light” that condensed into a torrent of energy of its own. The two beams collided in midair with an unimaginable impact, kicking up a catastrophic storm that tore out in every direction. The already battered city was pulverized even further by the clash, its ruins ground into dust and swept away into nothingness by the raging shockwaves.

The colliding energies surged and clashed violently, sending out increasingly destructive shockwaves that looked ready to tear the world apart. Yet Mechagodzilla’s firepower was clearly a cut above the Angel of Radical Destruction’s. Zog’s energy beam was steadily pushed back, compressed inch by inch until it collapsed completely, and Mechagodzilla’s blast slammed straight into her face.

“It actually won!”

People watching the battle unfold on the livestream erupted into cheers. Just moments ago, that radiant, seemingly invincible angel had radiated such suffocating pressure that nobody could even catch their breath. Both Ultraman Gaia and Ultraman Agul had been beaten down without even managing a decent fight. And now, this giant mechanical kaiju that had shown up out of nowhere was actually overpowering her.

Blasted full-force by the terrifying energy, the Angel of Radical Destruction Zog let out a piercing shriek. Moments later, right before the eyes of the entire watching world, she underwent a horrifying mutation. Her white outer skin peeled and sloughed away as her body rapidly ballooned in size, transforming into a four-legged super-behemoth standing a staggering 666 meters tall. The holy light that once shrouded her vanished completely, replaced by a pitch-black carapace veined with dark crimson energy conduits. Weighing an absurd 660,000 tons, even a single casual step made the entire battlefield violently tremble.

“Taller than me, huh?”

“You think you’re the only one with a second form?”

Vane triggered Mechagodzilla’s infinite nanometal proliferation. As long as it had enough power, Mechagodzilla could grow without limit. And for someone with the Equivalent Exchange mod like Vane, energy was the last thing he would ever run short of. Cashing in the EMC points he had saved up earlier, he exchanged them for energy fields, Ender generators, and other power sources, fusing them directly into Mechagodzilla’s frame.

As endless energy flooded its systems, torrents of nanometal gushed out from Mechagodzilla’s body, billowing outward like crashing ocean waves before folding back in on themselves. In mere moments, Mechagodzilla had expanded into a colossal mechanical monster towering well over 700 meters tall.

Zog froze, staring blankly at the sight.

Wait a second—I grew bigger, so you just grow bigger too?!

With earth-shattering footsteps, Mechagodzilla charged straight at Zog, its monstrous weight making the ground quake beneath it. Letting out a hideous roar, Zog unhinged her massive jaws and fired a dark purple shockwave blast. Space and time warped along its trajectory as the projectile rocketed forward. Across its chest armor, Nanometal Mechagodzilla deployed a nanometal forcefield hundreds of meters wide, its surface humming with countless nanoparticles vibrating at ultra-high frequencies to form a kinetic buffer. When the shockwave sphere slammed into it, it was like a boulder plunging into thick asphalt—kicking up an unbelievable tremor, yet stopping the blast dead in its tracks.

ROAR!!

Mechagodzilla’s dorsal armor split open. Propelled by electromagnetic fields, dozens of gleaming metal armor-piercing spikes shot out at hypersonic speeds. Carrying devastating kinetic force, they struck Zog squarely in the chest and right foreleg. Once the reinforced metal tips punched deep into the monster’s body, the nanometal began frantically multiplying and eating away at her insides, converting her flesh and tissue at the molecular level.

Zog shrieked in agony just as the charging Mechagodzilla rammed right into her, sending her flying backward. When her massive, impossibly heavy body crashed back down, the impact shook the earth to its core, splitting the ground open with massive fissures.

Howling in pain, the Angel of Radical Destruction struggled to push herself back up. Mechagodzilla strode forward and planted a heavy foot squarely on her back, pinning her to the dirt. Its dorsal fins flared with blinding light as terrifying energy converged in a split second.

ROAR!!

With a ferocious bellow, Mechagodzilla wrenched its jaws open and poured a devastating energy beam straight down into her head.

Zog wailed pitifully and thrashed to break free, but it was no use—Mechagodzilla’s sheer physical strength was impossible to shake off. The beam bored relentlessly into her skull until it blasted clean through. The dark crimson veins glowing between the cracks of her carapace flickered out, leaving behind a lifeless corpse. Immediately, the metal spikes embedded in her body spread rapidly, devouring and converting her remaining flesh.

“That’s all you’ve got?”

Looking down at the defeated Angel of Radical Destruction Zog, Vane felt a twinge of disappointment.

Ultraman Gaia and Ultraman Agul walked up to Vane.

“Thank you for your help.”

“If there is anything you need assistance with, please, just say the word.”

“Help me blow up the sun, and then blow up the Earth while you’re at it,” Vane replied casually.

Huh…? Gaia froze. I was just being polite! Why did he actually make a request?!

“Didn’t you tell me to just say the word?”

“Well, yes, but that’s…” Gaia was completely at a loss for words.

“The living beings on Earth need their home, and they need the sun. Ask for something else,” Agul stepped forward. “As long as it’s within our power, we won’t refuse.”

“Alright then. I’m getting ready to take down an evil race. You two can tag along. Pitch in if you can, and if you can’t, just stand there and look intimidating to hype up the numbers.”

Gaia and Agul exchanged a glance. Figuring this was a whole lot better than his first demand, they nodded in agreement.

“Deal. We’ll help you defeat that evil race.”

“In exchange, you keep your hands off the Earth and the sun.”

Vane dropped his transformation. “Then it’s settled.”

Naturally, Vane had just been messing with them about blowing up the Earth and the sun. There was no way he would actually do something like that; he was just yanking Gaia and Agul’s chains to save himself the trouble of coming up with a whole speech to convince them.

Ultras were always sticklers for moderation and peace. If you asked them out of the blue to go attack the evil Absolutians, they would immediately question your motives and wonder if you were trying to start an unjust war. Threaten to blow up their home planet first, though, and suddenly they would happily agree to go fight evil with you as a compromise.
