Chapter 99: Hardens his heart

Khaldun Wolfe who was used to being gossiped about and followed around by the paparazzi when with his famous parents, was blushing!

Of course, some tried to sneak a rare photo of the S-tier sentinel turning red.

It was partly due to guilt, he didn’t expect Sly to read him so easily and then have the gall to announce it for the entire cafeteria to hear.

Instead of responding and sounding like a cheesy cornball romantic and ruining his reputation as brooding, straightforward alpha.

Khaldun deliberately bit Sly’s right ear while tickling him in front of everyone, let him beg for mercy!

"Stop it!"

"Uggghhh... your evil..."

"Stop ticking me!"

"Knock it off Khaldun."

Sly laughed heartily and didn’t resist being fondled, tickled or poked in the belly and obediently allowed Khaldun to let off some steam and play around.

Lunch time was going, suddenly conscious of the time Sly asked Khaldun, "aren’t you going to eat?"

"I’m not really hungry but I should get something to munch on since we both have gym class after lunch."

Sly looked up at him with a cute puppy dog look, no one could refuse those adorable, pleading eyes.

"Ehhhhh, still not full. What do you want me to get for you?"

Pleased that Khaldun fell for his charm, the little omega perked up and raised his eyes to meet Khaldun’s, Sly happily declared what he craved the most.

"Dessert please! Something sweet like ice cream or strawberry cake."

Seriously, all the single omegas and sentinels in the main cafeteria just wanted to barf at this cutesy display of romantic affection.

Even though neither Khaldun or Sly had come out and officially stated that they were a couple, everyone in the main cafeteria that day would all be in agreement.

That the Royal Alpha known as Khaldun Wolfe was off the market and had been caught by Sly Foxx who had him wrapped around his itty bitty finger.

As a Royal Alpha, Khaldun Wolfe had his own apartment but was seen on multiple occasions from different eyewitnesses going back and forth from Sly’s apartment.

Don’t forget the whole tent fiasco in the Sunken Garden where several guides reported that Sly Foxx was the last omega to see Khaldun Wolfe.

Reports speculate that the couple must have done more than just hold hands for Khaldun’s rampage level to drop so significantly overnight.

Khaldun Wolfe got himself a club sandwich and bottled water while returning to the table with strawberry ice cream and cake for Sly.

Sweet and delicious, Sly was nearly tempted to lick the spoon, he devoured both desserts and left no crumbs.

While the other omegas in the main cafeteria looked on in envy, the annual ball was around the corner and they were all watching their weight so they could look good in their tuxedos.

Lunch time was up.

They would have to separate and go join their separate gym classes.

Since Khaldun had been so kind to Sly earlier, Sly voluntarily emptied but not before finishing Khaldun’s remaining half of the club sandwich and unopened bottled water.

Sly waved goodbye to Khaldun, tossed the trash in their respective bins and headed off to class.

JJ and Terrence joined Khaldun, Shelby was noticeably missing but none of the friends were ready to talk about it.

Only when Sly disappeared around the corner did Khaldun’s friends start to gossip.

JJ said, "damn, those stacks of plates piled high were no joke, who knew guides could eat more than sentinels. How can such a slender person eat like he has a bottomless stomach?"

The conversation about Sly’s eating habits continued while the sentinels made their way to the changing room.

Terrence agreed, "he’s certainly not a B tier guide, Khaldun it’s only a matter of time before everyone else realizes he’s S+. If the Duncan family is forced to recognise his talent someday. Do you think they’ll regret how they treated Sly?"

Khaldun Wolfe had also changed out of his sentinel uniform by now and was wearing a dark green tracksuit with the academy’s logo and his name on the back.

He was about to head out when Terrence voiced this thought provoking question and it made Khaldun pause in his tracks.

The Royal Alpha was convinced from now on he was the only family Sly needed as the opinions of others were irrelevant.

Khaldun responded, "Whether or not the Duncans regret their harsh treatment of Sly it’s already too late for them. Thanks to the temporary mark whenever the mention of family comes up Sly gets upset and hardens his heart. I don’t think he’ll be forgiving them anytime soon."

Just looking at the way Sly dealt with Victor anyone could tell there was no unison or deep sentiments between siblings.

Sly Foxx was unaware of the conversation between Khaldun and his sentinel friends after he left the main cafeteria.

When he came out of the guide changing room he was surprised to see that Victor was waiting for him on the outside.

Sly held his straight and walked past William with his shoulders straight and his head held high deliberately ignoring the alpha sentinel but William wasn’t so easily deterred.

William had seen when Sly entered the guide changing room alone without any of his classmates for an audience or Khaldun hovering nearby this was the best time to speak to him alone.

Exams were taking their toll on William, with studying and trying to break through to S tier so he could be on equal footing with Victor, William was very busy during this season.

His schedule had changed with his daily training and his family privately paid his teacher to add private lessons guaranteed to have him seeing some good results soon.

William wasn’t immune to all the gossip that still reached his ears from time to time but when it involved Victor he found it hard to concentrate.

In William’s mind the source of all the contention was obviously Sly and his actions which were getting bolder of late needed to be curbed because it was not something William would tolerate.

He still had every intention of making Victor his spouse and Sly his mistress, William wanted peace in his household, so he thought it best to make things clearer to Sly before it was too late.

William’s anger was triggered when Sly brushed past him, hellbent on ignoring him as if they were strangers with no connection to each other.
