Millennium Witch
Book 3: Chapter 307: Is Anyone There?
Inside the sealed black sphere constructed from Shadowtouch, Yvette was still stunned by the memories she had absorbed when, all of a sudden, a familiar sense of danger began spreading through her heart. She froze for a moment, then immediately realized what it was.
It was that super-giant aberrant entity!
No wonder the Demon Angel had been dragging her through one frantic teleport after another. She had been trying to find that aberrant entity and use its power to free herself!
With her nerves drawn tight, Yvette immediately formed a mimic eye on the surface of the black sphere. She saw that enormous outline, like a mountain range, appear before her far more clearly this time. Just the small part of it that had emerged was already impossible to see from end to end. Even the mobile city-state she had seen earlier in the Ultra-ancient Civilization looked as adorable as a child before it.
And that mobile city-state had been roughly forty kilometers in diameter. With that comparison, did that not mean this giant aberrant entity was as large as a mid-sized island?
Before she could come up with a countermeasure, all the eyeball organs on the colossal creature before her aimed themselves at her, like red-and-white sunflowers. At the same time, its mouth slowly opened, revealing layer upon layer of sharp teeth within, like the inside of a grinder.
If she was eaten by a super-giant monster like this, its pure physical force alone would probably be enough to crush through Shadowtouch’s physical defenses.
She could devour and absorb its aberrant factors too, but one only had to look at the difference in size. If they truly fought it out, it would be like a mosquito sucking blood from an elephant. She would need a very long time to devour an aberrant entity this large, and there would be plenty of unpredictable risks along the way. Meanwhile, an attack from the giant aberrant entity would be much more terrifying than the Demon Angel’s fists. It was entirely possible for it to flatten her into a meat patty with a single slap, although this aberrant entity had no clearly defined limbs, much less palms.
Rеаԁ оn КαtRеаdiոgCαfeOf course, one still had to dream big. In Jungle, even a rat could beat an elephant, not to mention that she was a nimble female mosquito.
Any other time might have been fine, but it had to be now. She was still using her tentacles to restrict the Demon Angel’s movements while devouring and extracting her memories. Under this incomplete state of control, she could not transfer the Demon Angel away. She could only keep wearing her down in place. At a time like this, the additional pressure from an external giant aberrant entity would become the key variable that allowed the Demon Angel to escape alive.Soon, the giant aberrant entity’s gaping maw finally descended, with such force that it seemed intent on biting through the structure of space itself.
Now inside the aberrant entity’s mouth, Yvette saw countless sharp teeth and tentacles surging in from every direction like a blood tide blotting out the sky. Mixed among them were even some independent small aberrant creatures, though she had no idea whether they were parasitic organisms living here.
Yvette decisively adjusted her method of defense. She directly abandoned the black spherical structure. In its place, dense black tendrils poured out, like a black waterfall flowing in reverse, instantly filling the surrounding space.
Ninety percent of the tentacles gathered into one black pillar after another, rising from below like pillars propping up the heavens. They extended to a height of more than ten kilometers and braced against the gradually closing upper and lower jaws. The remaining ten percent were used to clear out the small aberrant entities nearby, while also recovering some Aberrant Mana along the way.
But this contest of strength did not last long. Under an astronomical level of bite force, after barely ten minutes or so, Yvette saw that the Shadowtouch she was outputting at maximum power had already begun to crack and collapse.
Rеаd οո ΚаtReaⅾinɡСаfeAt the same time, the pressure on the Demon Angel’s side sharply decreased as well. She struggled even more frantically, using her formidable close-combat ability to smash apart the dark tendrils biting toward her, punch after punch. Finally, at a certain instant, she broke free from the tentacles’ control, tore open a spatial rift beside her, and slipped inside.
The remaining tentacles immediately chased after her, tangling with the Demon Angel at the entrance of the rift and preventing it from closing. But under the immense pressure brought by the giant aberrant entity, stopping the Demon Angel from escaping was already impossible.
So, before the previous spatial rift had closed, after shattering all the tendrils around her, the Demon Angel tore open another spatial rift and began teleporting again and again. Only after more than a dozen consecutive teleports, when the surrounding environment had grown so unfamiliar that even she could not recognize it, did she finally let out a long breath. Patting her chest, she muttered with lingering fear, “Hah… That was close… I almost died…”
When the tentacles had torn into her, the pain was only one part of it. The other part was that she could truly feel her soul being siphoned away by those tentacles, little by little, leaving her body behind. That terrifying sensation was something she never wanted to experience a second time in this life.
What exactly were those tentacles?
A divine art? But what kind of dark and twisted mind could create such disgusting and perverted divine art?
Could it be that she was not twelfth tier at all, but a True God? Or had she already stepped halfway into the level of a True God…?
Reаԁ on KαtRеaԁіոɡСαfеThe Demon Angel’s expression shifted uncertainly. She felt both the relief of surviving disaster and fear toward the Silver Witch. That fear was so profound that, even in the final moment of her escape, she had not remembered to leave behind a mocking threat.
Forget it. If she forgot, then she forgot. As long as she was alive, as long as the result was good, then she had won… she thought. Then she turned her head and looked in a certain direction within the dark void, thinking, This time, you should be finished, right?
…
Inside the giant aberrant entity’s mouth, after the Demon Angel had made her escape, Yvette also prepared to withdraw.
Through her brief contest of strength with the giant aberrant entity, she had already confirmed that this big fellow was not something she could deal with right now. She would have to sustain herself through battle and maintain endless endurance before she would have a chance to devour it. But her absorption rate could not keep up with her consumption rate at all, so the logic did not hold at the tactical level. And that was without even considering whether this aberrant entity was hiding any other secrets.
Then I should go back, she thought. In the mobile city from before, she had left behind other markers, so she could return at any time.
In addition, through the final information she had read from the Demon Angel’s memories, she had also confirmed that Lant and some of his subordinates had already been sealed and exiled in that world. Moga was not there, but that was not urgent. She would first find Lant, then return to the Western Continent and meet up with Moga. As fellow disciples, they surely had a specific way to contact each other. She believed that, when the time came, everything would go smoothly.
Rеаⅾ οո КαtRеаԁіոɡСafеAs she thought this, Yvette’s delicate brows relaxed slightly, and she felt a rare sense of ease. Yet in the next second, an abnormal sound, like a faint breeze, drifted into her ears.
“Is anyone there?”
“Is anyone here?”
“Can someone come save me?”
“…”
Yvette felt certain she must be hearing things. This was inside the mouth of a giant aberrant entity. There were sharp teeth clamping up and down, crushing everything. There were all sorts of strange, aggressive proliferated organs, and there were also swarms of independent aberrant creatures.
In a hellish place like this, how could anyone be calling for help here? And judging from the voice, it was even a young girl.
