Chapter 3135: Chapter 1047_2
So at that time, the multitude of Divine Kings were definitely a thousand times unwilling for their comrades to face Zhou Tian under such conditions. But due to their own inability to stop Zhou Tian, even if those Divine Kings were extremely unwilling to see Zhou Tian confront their comrade, they ultimately had no choice but to watch the event occur with their eyes wide open.
With Zhou Tian’s power, if he truly had the opportunity to approach those Divine Kings, it was without a doubt, given the circumstances, that the Divine King would be undeniably doomed.
Zhou Tian wouldn’t be polite to his enemies; they’ve reached this stage where it truly is a matter of life or death.
And the injured Divine King probably had this mental preparation long ago!
Therefore, when Zhou Tian approached, the Divine King seemed unusually calm, as if he already knew this scenario would unfold. Facing Zhou Tian’s approach, he merely said a plain phrase, and then without hesitation, assumed a defensive posture.
Clearly, this Divine King had accurately recognized his circumstances at the time, and even understood that given the situation, surviving was likely very difficult. But even though this Divine King understood his own dire circumstances, when faced with Zhou Tian, he still prepared a defensive stance, indicating he wasn’t ready to surrender.
"Boom boom boom!"
Explosions erupted almost instantly after Zhou Tian confronted this Divine King, and soon after, within less than an hour, the Light God King group sensed their comrade’s aura had vanished.
Without a doubt, the situation only pointed to one conclusion: the previously gravely injured Divine King ultimately could not escape Zhou Tian’s poisonous hands. After some resistance, it ended with Zhou Tian personally killing him.
Concerning a comrade’s life or death, to say it had no impact on the remaining Divine Kings would be impossible. Since Zhou Tian had acted on that Divine King, it’s uncertain when he would strike others, and even though the other Divine Kings weren’t as heavily injured, none could confidently ensure they could definitely withstand Zhou Tian’s assault when the time came.
Given the situation, purely out of self-preservation, those Divine Kings realized they needed to do something. If they allowed Zhou Tian to eliminate them one by one, regardless of whether Zhou Tian could be besieged by the remaining Divine Kings in the future, everything would be irrelevant to them.
Those fearful Divine Kings wouldn’t let that situation arise. Thus, naturally, not long after Zhou Tian killed the already injured Divine King, he found those Divine Kings intended to gather stopped their fruitless actions, instead starting their defense preparations.
Clearly, those Divine Kings had already probed and found that unless the Abyssal Consciousness relented, bringing them together was nearly impossible. And, since gathering together now seemed liable to separate them as well, wasting time on this was unreasonable.
Zhou Tian had already taken action, and if they wanted to survive, those Divine Kings knew they could only rely on their own strengths. Given the power Zhou Tian displayed, whoever Zhou Tian targets next, none of those Divine Kings could confidently guarantee their own safety.
However, those Divine Kings had no other choice. Since Zhou Tian wouldn’t possibly spare them, and they couldn’t gather again, the only method was to rely on their own strengths to resist Zhou Tian.
Though it seemed it would be challenging for those Divine Kings to rely on their abilities to block Zhou Tian’s assault, given Zhou Tian’s past prowess, those Divine Kings surmised when he comes, Zhou Tian would likely clean them up one by one. Without any other options, even knowing defending solely would be difficult, they still proceeded.
And...
Although given the circumstances, if Zhou Tian truly confronted those Divine Kings, defeating them shouldn’t pose much of a problem. None of those Divine Kings were weaklings; hence, if a fierce fight ensued, Zhou Tian undoubtedly wouldn’t suffer at their hands. However, should those Divine Kings truly choose to fight to the death, Zhou Tian might need some effort to defeat them.
Without doubt, though those Divine Kings seemed inadequate against Zhou Tian, it was merely their way of securing their safety. Honestly, if placed in a desolate environment with no vitality, precisely how those Divine Kings would react is uncertain.
Because Divine Kings possess strength and status, claiming their hearts lack any pride would be impossible. However, due to lacking strength compared to Zhou Tian, they appeared submissive in his presence. Were this not the case, those Divine Kings wouldn’t be such easy opponents.
In that desolate moment, though those Divine Kings seemed doomed, it was precisely their dire circumstances that left them without hope, allowing them to prepare normally for battle.
Undeniably, previously when those Divine Kings were entirely focused on survival and lacked the mindset to combat Zhou Tian, Zhou Tian either couldn’t find an opportunity to strike or, on encountering such an opportunity, might have found overcoming those lacking any fighting spirit not as arduous as imagined.
But now, with those Divine Kings transformed, no longer fearing battle and now confident enough to take on Zhou Tian, given their power, one could not guarantee victory. Yet if they truly intended to fight Zhou Tian, even if Zhou Tian was slightly stronger, even with help from the Abyss, winning isn’t straightforward.
Those Divine Kings were indeed not weak!
Judging by that heavily injured Divine King, who seemed near death yet persisted in Zhou Tian’s grasp for so long, if those Divine Kings genuinely wanted to contest Zhou Tian and exerted their full power, even if Zhou Tian could win, it would take considerable effort.
No doubt, however, if Zhou Tian expended too much energy on those divine opponents, even though he might kill some, fundamentally, it would still be seen as Zhou Tian’s failure.
After all, Zhou Tian’s enemies weren’t solely those Divine Kings; in fact, his weakest adversaries might precisely be them. And if addressing those Divine Kings took such exertion to succeed, against other enemies, what greater cost would he need to pay for victory?
Therefore, though it appeared doubtful those Divine Kings could defeat Zhou Tian by any means they attempted.
Yet, realistically, though those Divine Kings had slim chances of survival, if they could prolong their resistance against Zhou Tian, making victory less straightforward, from another perspective, this would still signify triumph.(To be continued.
