Mesmerizing Ghost Doctor

Chapter 5074: Restless

Chapter 5074: Restless

“That may be true, but it’s still best to be cautious. After all, our Master is no longer here. If anything happens, we’ll be the ones left to deal with it.” Luo Yu spoke with rare seriousness. “Perhaps you haven’t paid much attention to the affairs of the various celestial realms while at the ancestral home, but we’ve recently received intelligence that some rulers are growing restless and beginning to stir.”

Guan Xilin froze slightly at these words, his sword-like brows furrowing. “Do you mean someone dares to target you? Setting aside Little Jiu’s absence, your strength alone is enough to intimidate any powerful figure. Who would be so reckless as to stir trouble?”

“They likely see that our master has ascended to the Immortal Realm and won’t return, so they’ve grown bold.” Leng Hua said softly, pouring more tea for the two.

“Recently, some rulers in the Celestial Realm have been annexing other territories to expand their influence. While no one has dared to target Master’s domain yet, they’ve already set their sights on it. We’ve received intelligence that several groups have been monitoring the Pill Tower for some time now. That’s precisely why Fan Lin and the others remain stationed there, maintaining vigilance to respond to any developments.”

Luo Yu took a sip of tea before continuing, “Since nothing has happened yet, we didn’t inform you—we didn’t want to worry you. Should they make a move, our strength is sufficient to handle it.”

Guan Xilin frowned, his expression grim as he stared at the two men. “That’s where you went wrong. How could you not inform me of such a matter? I am, after all, Little Jiu’s brother. With her absent, if her holdings are truly being targeted, I must step in to protect her interests.”

“Rest assured,” Luo Yu replied with a smile. “Should that day ever come, you will be the first to know.”

Just then, a thunderous crash echoed across the sea, as if a massive boulder had plummeted into the water, sending countless splashes skyward.

“What’s happening?!” Luo Yu sprang to his feet, rushing to the bow and barking the question as his gaze fixed on the sea.

A Phoenix Guard swiftly returned to report: “Captain, something plunged from the sky into the sea. Two guards have already gone down to investigate.”

“Why would something suddenly crash into the Eastern Sea Spirit Domain? Did you see what it was?” Guan Xilin asked.

“It came down too fast. I couldn’t make it out,” the Phoenix Guard shook his head.

“Look!” Leng Hua suddenly exclaimed, a hint of astonishment in his voice.

The others turned to where he pointed. There, amidst the splashing sea, a vortex seemed to be forming. It grew larger and larger, deepening into the ocean.

“Go check it out!” Luo Yu declared, immediately rising on a surge of energy toward the vortex.

But just then, drumbeats echoed from behind the clouds on the horizon. Startled, they looked up to see figures gradually emerging from the white clouds.

A dense, dark mass of figures stood within the clouds, all clad in armor and wielding weapons. At the front, amidst the white clouds, three drummers beat three large drums. The rhythmic thudding echoed across the sky, its sound nearly piercing the heavens.

“Dong! Dong! Dong! Dong-dong-dong-dong-dong!”

The drumbeats carried a powerful spirit energy, forming visible sound waves that rippled outward, echoing across the sea and beyond.
