Maybe My Soulmate! (GL)
Chapter 364: The thousand dao city 33.
Only Ning Shuyue, Luo Qinghe, Ji Ruyan, Su Lian, and Bai Ruxue joined them.
Tang Yuer wanted to come too.
Bai Ruxue refused.
They argued for almost five minutes.
Tang Yuer finally crossed her arms.
"You are doing the same thing you always accuse me of doing."
Bai Ruxue frowned.
"What?"
"Putting yourself in danger because you think being responsible means doing everything alone."
Bai Ruxue went quiet.
Luo Qinghe whispered to Su Yubing, "That is a familiar argument."
Su Yubing smiled.
"Very."
Bai Ruxue eventually agreed to stay behind.
Tang Yuer hugged her before leaving.
"Come back."
Bai Ruxue said softly, "I will."
The words sounded simple.
But Mo Yuxin noticed how seriously they meant them.
The group hid near the warehouse district as night fell.
Dozens of spirit carts entered the area.
The Golden Mountain Sect’s emblem was clearly visible.
Their guards were well trained.
Everything seemed normal.
Then Mo Yuxin sensed another group approaching.
They were using concealment techniques.
She looked toward the rooftops.
"There."
Sixteen masked cultivators appeared.
They moved in silence.
The first wave attacked the guards.
Golden Mountain disciples immediately responded.
The fight broke out in the narrow street.
Flames filled the air.
Metal weapons clashed.
Formation lights appeared along the rooftops.
Ji Ruyan wanted to move.
Mo Yuxin raised a hand.
"Wait."
Ji Ruyan stopped.
The attackers pushed toward one specific cart.
It contained a sealed case.
Mo Yuxin noticed three different spiritual seals on it.
Then she saw something else.
A figure stood on the roof above the street.
He was not wearing a mask.
He was watching the battle calmly.
He wore the robes of the Azure Cloud Sect.
Su Yubing whispered, "There is our second piece."
Mo Yuxin nodded.
The Azure Cloud elder lifted his hand.
A formation activated beneath the street.
The Golden Mountain guards suddenly lost their ability to move.
The attackers seized the case.
Then another group of cultivators arrived from the western road.
Their robes belonged to the Heavenly Sword Sect.
The situation was changing exactly as planned.
The masked attackers were going to steal the Golden Mountain shipment.
The Azure Cloud elder would provide the formation.
The Heavenly Sword disciples would arrive afterward.
Then someone would discover evidence linking the Battle Maiden Sect to the attack.
Mo Yuxin smiled faintly.
"They are not even hiding it properly."
Su Yubing nodded.
"They probably thought nobody would see the whole picture."
Mo Yuxin looked at her.
"Should we step in?"
Su Yubing considered it.
"Not yet."
Mo Yuxin looked pleased.
"I like when you say that."
"Why?"
"Because it means we can hit them later."
Su Yubing sighed.
"You are hopeless."
"Yes."
The situation escalated.
The masked attackers opened the case.
Inside was not a weapon.
It was a sealed spirit ore core.
The Azure Cloud elder looked satisfied.
The Heavenly Sword disciples arrived.
Their leader stepped forward.
"Stop."
The masked attackers immediately scattered.
One threw the ore core into the street.
It landed beside a broken Battle Maiden talisman.
Ji Ruyan’s face changed.
"That talisman is ours."
Su Lian whispered, "They planted it."
Mo Yuxin nodded.
The Heavenly Sword leader picked up the talisman.
He looked around at the destruction.
Then his gaze fell on Ji Ruyan.
"Why are you here?"
Ji Ruyan stepped forward.
"We followed the attackers."
The man smiled coldly.
"Or you came to steal from the Golden Mountain Sect."
Ji Ruyan’s eyes hardened.
"We did not."
The leader raised his sword.
"Then explain why your sect’s talisman was found beside the stolen treasure."
The street became silent.
The evidence was almost too perfect.
Mo Yuxin finally stepped forward.
The Heavenly Sword cultivators looked at her.
She calmly picked up the talisman.
Then she broke it in half.
The Heavenly Sword leader’s expression changed.
"What are you doing?"
Mo Yuxin looked at the broken pieces.
"Showing you something."
She touched the inside.
A tiny formation mark appeared.
Su Yubing immediately saw it.
"Azure Cloud."
The Heavenly Sword leader frowned.
The Azure Cloud elder on the rooftop disappeared.
Mo Yuxin looked up.
"There goes your witness."
The Heavenly Sword leader stared at her.
Mo Yuxin tossed the broken talisman at his feet.
"Your evidence was planted."
He said nothing.
Ji Ruyan looked shocked.
Su Lian quietly smiled.
For the first time, the Battle Maiden disciples felt as if someone outside the sect was willing to stand beside them in public.
Mo Yuxin turned to Su Yubing.
"We should leave."
Su Yubing nodded.
The Golden Mountain guards began shouting questions.
The Heavenly Sword leader started to chase them.
Then Mo Yuxin stopped.
She looked back.
"Actually."
Su Yubing raised an eyebrow.
"What?"
Mo Yuxin pointed toward the rooftop.
"I want to see where he ran."
A moment later, the two women vanished.
They reappeared on the roof where the Azure Cloud elder had stood.
No one else could follow.
The elder had already escaped through a teleportation formation.
Mo Yuxin studied the residue.
"They have another base."
Su Yubing stood beside her.
"Can you follow it?"
"Yes."
"Should we?"
Mo Yuxin looked toward the city lights.
Then back at her wife.
"Tomorrow."
Su Yubing smiled.
"Why tomorrow?"
"Because I want to have dinner with you first."
Su Yubing laughed.
"That is a very good reason."
They returned to the Battle Maiden residence.
By then, news of the warehouse incident had already spread.
The Golden Mountain Sect had not publicly accused the Battle Maiden Sect yet because the planted evidence had been exposed before they could control the story.
But the incident had proved something important.
The conspirators were willing to attack even one of the most powerful sects in the Southern Continent merely to create an excuse for another conflict.
Ye Qinglan listened to the report quietly.
When Ji Ruyan finished, the sect master looked at Mo Yuxin.
"You could have left this city at any time."
Mo Yuxin nodded.
"Yes."
"Why stay?"
Mo Yuxin looked toward Su Yubing.
Su Yubing was smiling.
Mo Yuxin smiled too.
"Because my wife likes your sect."
