"Because you feed me better."

Qinghe groaned playfully.

"You two are dangerous to single people."

Ning Shuyue calmly took a piece of fruit and held it to Qinghe’s mouth.

Qinghe paused.

Then she smiled.

"See? We can do it too."

Ning Shuyue quietly said, "You were complaining."

"I was making a point."

"Fine."

Su Yubing smiled.

"You four are going to give me a headache."

Mo Yuxin looked at her.

"Then I will massage it."

"No."

"Why?"

"Because you will use too much force."

"I can be gentle."

Su Yubing gave her a skeptical look.

"You broke a stone chair yesterday by leaning on it."

Mo Yuxin defended herself.

"It was old."

Everyone laughed.

The afternoon was nearly perfect.

Then a messenger arrived.

He carried the insignia of the Battle Maiden Sect.

He bowed to Ye Qinglan’s absent companions, but the message itself was addressed to Su Lian.

Su Lian read it.

Her face changed.

Ruyan immediately noticed.

"What happened?"

Su Lian handed her the jade slip.

Ruyan read it.

Then stood.

"Another convoy."

Ye Qinglan, who had joined them at the tea house earlier, asked, "When?"

"Location?"

"Southwest trade road."

Mu Qingru’s expression became cold.

"How many?"

"Seven carts. Six guards injured. One missing."

Mo Yuxin looked toward the city center.

"What was being transported?"

Su Lian answered, "Formation materials and healing herbs."

Mo Yuxin frowned.

The timing was too convenient.

The assembly had just reduced their resource access.

Now their remaining supplies were being attacked.

Su Yubing stood.

"Let’s go."

Ye Qinglan looked at them.

"You do not have to become involved."

Mo Yuxin answered, "We know."

She took Su Yubing’s hand.

"We are going anyway."

The group left the tea house.

They moved quickly through the city.

The southwestern road was almost empty when they arrived.

The convoy was scattered across a stretch of broken stone road.

Several spiritual carts had been destroyed.

One horse-like spirit beast lay injured.

The guards were alive but badly wounded.

Ruyan immediately ran toward them.

Su Lian followed.

Luo Qinghe began treating injuries.

Ning Shuyue searched the surroundings.

Mo Yuxin walked slowly through the wreckage.

She found footprints.

Seven people.

Maybe eight.

The attackers had used masks.

Their spiritual energy had been hidden.

But there were traces.

Small traces.

Mo Yuxin crouched beside a broken cart.

She touched a piece of shattered metal.

Su Yubing came over.

"What is it?"

Mo Yuxin rubbed the fragment between her fingers.

"Formation-cutting technique."

"What sect uses that?"

Mo Yuxin looked toward the direction the attackers had fled.

"I know who."

Su Yubing’s expression became serious.

"Who?"

Mo Yuxin stood.

"The Heavenly Sword Sect."

The words had barely left her mouth when Ning Shuyue turned.

"Are you sure?"

Mo Yuxin nodded.

"Their disciples use a specialized sword aura that can cut through formation barriers without causing explosive backlash. The technique leaves these marks."

Ning Shuyue crouched and examined the damage.

Her expression changed.

"She is right."

Ruyan came over.

"Then they attacked us?"

Ye Qinglan’s expression was cold.

"We cannot accuse an entire sect based on traces alone."

Mo Yuxin nodded.

"Agreed."

Su Yubing looked at the road.

"But someone wanted it to look like the Heavenly Sword Sect did it."

Mo Yuxin smiled faintly.

"Exactly."

Everyone became quiet.

The difference mattered.

If the Heavenly Sword Sect really carried out the attack, the political situation was simple.

If someone deliberately used their techniques to frame them, then the conspiracy was much larger.

Mo Yuxin searched the area again.

This time, she found something else.

A tiny black thread caught on a broken branch.

She picked it up.

The material was strange.

Not cloth.

Not metal.

Some kind of spiritual fiber.

Su Yubing looked at it.

"You recognize it?"

"Not yet."

She examined the thread.

Then she looked toward the city.

"But I will."

Suddenly a wounded guard cried out.

"Senior!"

Ruyan rushed over.

The guard was trying to sit up.

"They took the jade case."

Ye Qinglan approached.

"What jade case?"

"The medicine shipment."

"All of it?"

The guard shook his head.

"No. They ignored the herbs."

Everyone froze.

Mo Yuxin looked at Su Yubing.

"Then they were not stealing supplies."

Su Yubing understood.

"They were searching for something."

Ruyan said, "What?"

Mo Yuxin looked toward the wrecked carts.

"Something hidden in the shipment."

Ye Qinglan’s expression hardened.

"There was nothing secret in the convoy."

Mu Qingru interrupted.

"There was."

Everyone looked at her.

She took a breath.

"One item."

Ye Qinglan frowned.

"What item?"

Mu Qingru looked toward the city.

"A communication jade sent by the Central Continent branch."

The air changed.

Mo Yuxin became still.

Su Yubing looked at her.

Mo Yuxin did not react outwardly.

But she had heard the important part.

Central Continent.

Battle Maiden Sect.

She did not ask more immediately.

This was becoming more complicated than she expected.

And much closer to her own hidden background than she wanted.

Mu Qingru continued.

"The message was sealed. Only the sect master could open it."

Ye Qinglan looked at her.

"Why was I not told?"

Mu Qingru hesitated.

"Because the message was meant to remain confidential."

Ye Qinglan’s expression became slightly colder.

"You should have told me that a sealed message was being moved."

"I know."

Mo Yuxin glanced toward Su Yubing.

Her wife immediately understood the question in her eyes.

They should investigate.

But carefully.

Not because the missing message was dangerous by itself.

Because whoever wanted it had gone to enough trouble to attack a convoy under city protection.

That meant the contents mattered.

They returned to the city with the wounded guards.

The city authorities arrived shortly after.

Investigators surrounded the road.

Mo Yuxin gave them the basic evidence and said nothing about the Central Continent message.

That information belonged to the Battle Maiden Sect.

When they returned to the inn, Su Yubing closed the door behind them.

Then she turned toward Mo Yuxin.

"You are thinking about your mothers."

Mo Yuxin nodded.

There was a long silence.
