Maybe My Soulmate! (GL)
Chapter 330: Conclusion 12.
Mo Yuxin quietly said, "At least nobody was hurt."
The woman bowed.
"Thank you, seniors."
Su Yubing smiled.
"Take care."
They left.
Mo Yuxin waited until they were far enough away.
"That was stupid."
Su Yubing nodded.
"Very."
"I think sect disciples are somehow more troublesome than demonic beasts."
"Sometimes."
They continued north.
By the afternoon, the surrounding landscape opened into a massive basin.
At the far end stood a line of mountains with peaks covered in snow.
The Central Spiritual Highway ran between them.
The snow mountains were called the Nine White Peaks.
The weather changed abruptly.
Cold wind swept over the road.
Even strong cultivators put on heavier robes.
Mo Yuxin looked at Su Yubing.
"Cold?"
"A little."
Mo Yuxin immediately took off her outer robe and put it around Su Yubing’s shoulders.
Su Yubing looked at her.
"Then what will you wear?"
"I am fine."
"You will be cold."
"No."
"Mo Yuxin."
"Yes?"
"Put it back on."
Mo Yuxin obediently took it back.
Su Yubing laughed.
"Good wife."
Mo Yuxin looked pleased by the praise.
"Again."
"No."
"Please."
"You are shameless."
"Again."
Su Yubing shook her head.
"Good wife."
Mo Yuxin smiled.
"Very good."
The road through the Nine White Peaks was spectacular.
Snow gathered on the mountain walls.
Ice crystals formed around spiritual veins.
Flying fish moved through frozen waterfalls.
At night, the entire range glowed faintly from buried spirit stones.
They stopped at a mountain station overlooking the peaks.
The station had a small tea room with a giant window.
Mo Yuxin ordered hot tea.
Su Yubing ordered sweet rice cakes.
They sat by the window.
Su Yubing broke one rice cake in half and fed Mo Yuxin.
Mo Yuxin looked satisfied.
"Good?"
"Very."
"You have become easy to feed."
"Only when you feed me."
"You were already easy to feed."
"Then why did you marry me?"
Su Yubing smiled.
"Because you are cute."
Mo Yuxin looked stunned.
"Me?"
"Yes."
"I am handsome."
"Handsome and cute."
Mo Yuxin thought about it.
"I accept."
They drank tea until the sky became dark.
The following morning, they finally left the snow mountains.
The road descended toward a huge plain.
And beyond that plain, for the first time, they could clearly see the central skyline of Thousand Dao City.
Its tallest towers were visible even from more than a hundred kilometers away.
The city seemed to pierce the sky.
Thousands of spiritual ships moved around it.
The faint glow of its defensive formations covered the horizon like a second sunset.
Su Yubing stopped walking.
She stared.
Mo Yuxin stopped beside her.
"Beautiful?"
Su Yubing nodded.
"Very."
Mo Yuxin looked at the city.
Then back at her wife.
"I think we picked the right destination."
Su Yubing smiled.
"I think so too."
They resumed walking.
This time, the distance did not feel far.
The road ahead was crowded with travelers heading in the same direction.
The closer they came to the city, the more enormous the movement of people became.
Everywhere they looked, there were signs pointing toward Thousand Dao City.
Merchant banners appeared on roadside towers.
Cultivation academies advertised entrance examinations.
Auction houses announced upcoming events.
Major sects displayed lists of disciples expected to participate in the coming season’s competitions.
Even the restaurants advertised special dishes for travelers arriving from the outer regions.
The entire continent seemed to be pointing toward one place.
The heart of the Southern Continent.
Thousand Dao City.
Mo Yuxin looked at the road one last time.
Then she took Su Yubing’s hand.
"Come on."
Su Yubing intertwined their fingers.
"Together."
"Always."
On the twelfth day, Thousand Dao City became visible.
They were still more than a hundred kilometers away.
Yet the city already dominated the horizon.
Its outer walls rose like mountains.
Towering pagodas stretched into the sky.
Flying ships moved around the city in every direction.
Some were tiny personal vessels.
Others were enormous merchant ships with hundreds of passengers.
The central spiritual formation above the city was so large that Mo Yuxin could feel it from where they stood.
Su Yubing stared.
"So that is Thousand Dao City."
Mo Yuxin nodded.
"Yes."
Qin Lian looked relieved.
"We finally made it."
The merchants cheered.
The guards relaxed.
Everyone looked toward the giant city.
Mo Yuxin, however, looked at Su Yubing.
Su Yubing smiled.
"What?"
"Nothing."
"You are staring again."
"I like looking at you."
"You could look at the city."
Mo Yuxin glanced at it.
"I will look later."
Su Yubing laughed.
"Hopeless."
The caravan resumed its journey.
The closer they got, the more crowded the road became.
There were lines of carts stretching for kilometers.
Cultivators were being checked at the outer gates.
Merchant groups displayed their clan banners.
Sect disciples flew overhead.
There were even giant spirit beast mounts carrying entire families toward the city.
The road split into twelve lanes.
Then twenty.
Then more.
The air buzzed with voices.
An old man advertised a seventh-grade formation manual.
A young woman sold spirit flowers.
A group of disciples argued about which sect had the strongest sword technique.
Two merchants were loudly negotiating the price of dragon blood.
A child was chasing a floating paper bird.
It was chaos.
Beautiful chaos.
Mo Yuxin smiled.
Su Yubing leaned against her shoulder.
"I think we are going to like this place."
Mo Yuxin nodded.
"I think so too."
They reached the outer checkpoint just before sunset.
A gigantic stone arch stood above the road.
Five ancient characters were carved across it.
THOUSAND DAO CITY.
Below the arch were dozens of guards.
Most were at the Core Formation stage.
Several officers were Nascent Soul cultivators.
The city clearly did not treat entry casually.
Every merchant group had to register.
Every foreign sect had to declare its purpose.
Some cultivators had to pay entry fees.
Others were exempt because of their sect affiliation.
Mo Yuxin and Su Yubing joined the line.
They stood together.
Mo Yuxin held Su Yubing’s hand.
She had no intention of letting go even in the middle of a crowd.
