Max Level Return—I'll Protect That Fragile One
Chapter 738: Scavenger Ying Chenzhou (Part 2)
Chapter 738: Chapter 281: Scavenger Ying Chenzhou (Part 2)
The flames had no time to be extinguished, as Ying Chenzhou’s gestures changed. His ten fingers intertwined, chanting under his breath, causing the flames on the convicts to grow larger and fiercer in a strange manner.
“Ah!”
“Ah!!”
The convicts screamed in agony as the intense fire burned them.
Some were burned to death on the spot, while others struggled to crawl toward the sea.
But once they reached the sea, they dared not return to shore…
Soon, corpses with charred skin were washed ashore by the sea.
In just a few minutes, 170 corpses lined the shoreline.
The man opened a gray Storage Bag and threw the dead convicts into it without any expression or pause in his actions.
He resembled a street cleaner disposing of trash into a garbage bag.
Truly living up to his title of “Scavenger.”
Ying Chenzhou held the space Storage Bag made by a Space Ability User, and as he turned around, he keenly sensed danger.
He raised his head and exchanged a distant gaze with the mysterious woman standing beside his Flying Car.
Under the moonlight, the mask on the woman’s face emitted a cold, silvery glow, and her sparkling, beautiful eyes were fixed on Ying Chenzhou with a peculiar smile.
Ying Chenzhou nodded at her and gracefully expressed his thanks, “Thank you.”
He appreciated Xu Xingguang for bringing all these convicts to justice together, sparing him the trouble of hunting them down one by one.
Xu Xingguang leaned casually against the front of Ying Chenzhou’s car, with arms folded, and gazed at his chiseled face, asking in good spirits, “What’s your name?”
Ying Chenzhou frowned and did not answer.
Xu Xingguang extended her right arm into the air, producing a printed document.
Ying Chenzhou eyed the item in her hand curiously, though he said nothing.
“This contains the entire list of members registered under the Hell Palace membership.” Xu Xingguang shook the booklet bound with printed paper, “There are over a hundred thousand names in total.”
Ying Chenzhou’s gaze wavered at that number.
Over a hundred thousand people.
The number was staggering.
Xu Xingguang flipped through the document casually and said, “Handsome boy, you look extraordinary. I wonder, is your name on this list?”
Snap!
She closed the document and asked Ying Chenzhou, “What’s your name?”
Ying Chenzhou lightly replied, “Ying Chenzhou.”
Nodding, Xu Xingguang said, “Congratulations to our little brother Chenzhou; tonight you are spared from death.”
Ying Chenzhou warily eyed the mysterious woman who had suddenly appeared.
He had watched Xu Xingguang’s livestream yesterday morning and was quite curious about her. But Ying Chenzhou was well aware of the saying that curiosity killed the cat; despite his curiosity about Xu Xingguang, he would refrain from investigating her or approaching her.
The more some people smile, the more ruthless they are in killing.
Though he couldn’t ascertain Xu Xingguang’s true strength, the fact that she single-handedly brought all the convicts on Bai Ze Island to justice suggested she was more than just a pretty face.
Ying Chenzhou walked back with the bag, staying vigilant, heading toward his vehicle.
He skirted around Xu Xingguang, walked toward the driver’s seat, and as he opened the car door, he heard Xu Xingguang say, “Please pass a message to the Alliance Government you serve.”
Ying Chenzhou paused, lowering his gaze to look at Xu Xingguang.
Without looking at him, Xu Xingguang, holding the document, walked into the depths of the night, her voice clearly reaching Ying Chenzhou’s ears, “Within five days, a lucky individual among the Eastern Alliance’s core high-level management will receive a notification letter. From the moment he receives the notification, within ten days, I will kill him!”
Ying Chenzhou watched Xu Xingguang’s retreating figure with a deep gaze.
Ying Chenzhou hadn’t experienced the Hell Palace’s live-streamed perverted game firsthand or witnessed the infamous moment when Xu Xingguang threatened the toys present on the night the Hell Palace was destroyed.
But the event had long spread throughout the Super Power User community.
Now, it was widely known among Super Power Users that Hell Palace had been destroyed by the Combat Doll No. 100 from the Toy Pool. That Combat Doll had also declared a hunt would ensue, involving every player member by obtaining the Hell Palace membership list.
The game rules were consistent with what this woman said.
So, is this masked woman really the Toy Pool’s Combat Doll No. 100?
Did she truly acquire the Hell Palace membership list?
So, amongst the Eastern Alliance’s core high-level administrators, are there members registered in Hell Palace?
Regardless of the truth, Ying Chenzhou decided to report this message truthfully to his superiors.
He was curious to see who would emerge as the victor in this blind box hunt game.
*
Ying Chenzhou only returned to Rizhao City, where the Eastern Alliance Headquarters is located, the next evening.
Ying Chenzhou was not a member of the Alliance Police Station or the judicial department. His department, known as the ‘Security Gate,’ was directly led by the Eastern Alliance Hierarch.
Their duty was to eliminate all obstacles on the East Ocean Continent and maintain peace.
In essence, they were official-trained assassins—the Alliance’s dogs of war.
Ying Chenzhou was the most outstanding “dog” in his line of work.
His personal Flying Car was parked at the rooftop high-altitude parking lot, and he took the direct elevator, stopping at the 19th floor.
The 19th floor housed the judicial department and Alliance Police Station headquarters.
Ying Chenzhou pressed his finger against the identity detection device installed at the office hall door, and a needle so fine it was nearly invisible pricked his fingertip, extracting a drop of blood.
A few seconds later, after successfully passing the DNA test, Ying Chenzhou’s large profile appeared on the device.
The doors opened, and Ying Chenzhou entered the General Police Office, placing the Storage Bag on the Governor’s desk. “Governor, the bodies of 170 convicts are all in here.”
The Governor, a man starting to show signs of aging, with a wide-shouldered, sturdy build that made his police uniform appear even more formidable, took the Storage Bag without inspecting it, placing it into a stainless-steel basket, and called his secretary in from outside.
“Take the garbage away for non-hazardous treatment.”
