Max Level Return—I'll Protect That Fragile One
Chapter 647 - 243: Ambition Inflating, Just Take a Dose of Ambition
Xingguang stood on the shore, arms crossed, leaning against a tree split by lightning.
A cold aura enveloped Xingguang’s beautiful appearance as she mentioned to Dongfang Yi, "The meteorite is a foreign object. The Super Power Users can awaken their superpowers, all due to the influence of external objects."
Her tone shifted sharply, "But if one day, the power granted by the meteorite disappears, what awaits them then?"
Dongfang Yi contemplated seriously after hearing Xingguang’s words before he said, "Would they lose their proud power in an instant?"
However.
Dongfang Yi pursed his lips without expecting much. "But such a situation shouldn’t occur, right?"
From the appearance of the first Super Power User to the era dominated by these superpower users, two thousand two hundred years have passed. It seems unlikely that the situation Xingguang mentioned would occur.
"Heh." Xingguang shook her head, imparting her wisdom to Dongfang Yi: "Remember, young one, any power obtained through external means contains uncertainty. Only through hard work, gaining skills by shedding blood and sweat, will you have power that remains truly yours."
Xingguang had personally experienced the dominance of the meteorite’s toxic fumes. Even a strong warrior like her couldn’t awaken superpowers.
Yet, subsequently, Super Power Users emerged one after another.
She always felt that this matter defied logic.
If that meteorite’s poison could truly awaken superpowers within the human body, she should have been the first to awaken.
Towards the meteorite that fell from the sky, Xingguang always had a repulsed mindset, "Two thousand two hundred years ago, the ancestors of that time probably never imagined that a meteorite fallen from the sky could alter the course of the world’s future."
Xingguang shrugged, "If meteorites can stimulate their superpowers, why can’t they destroy their superpowers too?"
Xingguang seemed quite eerie, with a knack for manipulating people’s minds, able to brainwash with just a few words.
After listening to Xingguang’s words, Dongfang Yi also felt that what she said made a lot of sense.
But when he realized how easily he was convinced by Xingguang, he couldn’t help feeling horrified.
This woman is so terrifying!
At least she didn’t resort to evil or indoctrination.
"I understand, Teacher Xingguang." Dongfang Yi didn’t believe that those Super Power Users would lose their powers one day, but he was nonetheless inspired by Xingguang’s words.
Xingguang didn’t correct his address, "Go back to class, I’m going to the farm."
"Farming?" Dongfang Yi quickly climbed out of the water, pulling up his wet pant legs and shoes, and chased after Xingguang, "Sister Xingguang, did you really manage to grow herbs in Field Number 18?"
"Yeah."
"Can I have a look? Our spring break isn’t over yet, I’ll help you out."
"Helping out, sure, as long as you’re not afraid of hard work."
Dongfang Yi thought, how hard could it be to help out at the farm—just watering plants and pulling weeds?
Xingguang led Dongfang Yi to Field Number 18, handing him a magnifying glass, a transparent plastic jar, and a pair of tiny chopsticks.
Dongfang Yi was baffled while holding the magnifying glass, "Teacher Xingguang, why are you giving me a magnifying glass?" It’s just planting herbs, right?
"Go on, use the magnifying glass to get rid of pests on the herbs."
Dongfang Yi was dumbfounded, "Find them with a magnifying glass? How small do those pests have to be?"
Xingguang raised an eyebrow, "Didn’t you say you wanted to help me out?"
He complied, "I’ll do it!"
"Be careful not to touch the sap on the herbs’ branches and leaves."
Dongfang Yi blinked curiously, "What happens if I do?"
"You’ll die." Xingguang replied earnestly, not like she was joking.
Dongfang Yi was stunned and uncertain if she was serious. Elder Tan Nan, leaning against the doorframe at the gate, added solemnly, "Xiao Yi, Field Number 18 is planted entirely with poisonous herbs, so be careful."
Dongfang Yi nearly dropped the magnifying glass but resignedly entered the field with a wry expression.
After Dongfang Yi entered the field, Elder Tan Nan asked Xingguang, "Do you have high hopes for this boy?"
Xingguang replied, "He’s not bad."
"He’s indeed not bad, smart and clever, bolder than his stodgy and overly-loyal father." Elder Tan Nan presumed Xingguang didn’t know Dongfang Yi’s family background and said, "Dongfang Yi’s family originally belonged to the Dongfang Family in Divine Hidden Continent Emperor City..."
"I know, the young one told me."
Elder Tan Nan found it a bit odd that Xingguang, though young, called Dongfang Yi a ’young one’. "A young one, you’re only a few years older than him."
