Max Level Return—I'll Protect That Fragile One
Chapter 532 - 186: The Astonishing, Unconventional Huo Family Members (Part 2)
Huo Jianghe is the only one among the three siblings who resembles their mother, Zheng Jiao’e, in appearance. He looks like a gentle man, yet he is the diplomat from Xia Country who international communities most fear and find troublesome.
It’s because of him that the saying ’crossing swords, disdainful of the world’ exists.
Huo Jianghe is the only person from the direct lineage of the Huo Family who opted to leave the Huo family’s conglomerate and pursue a political career. Though he is Huo Canghai’s son, he grew up with his maternal grandparents.
The Zheng Family is a military family, so it’s unsurprising that Huo Jianghe chose the political path.
Huo Jianghe rushed back overnight last night, looking somewhat tired. As soon as he entered the house, he pulled his pair of children over to stand before Huo Wen’an.
Huo Jianghe said, "Bow."
Huo Jianghe’s children knelt firmly in front of Huo Wen’an.
The two little ones kowtowed to Huo Wen’an, reciting words: "Nian Nian, Junjun, first wish uncle longevity, as immense as the southern mountains, as vast as the eastern seas."
"Second wish for uncle and auntie harmony in their relationship, prosperity with children, growing old together in white-haired unity!"
"Third wish for uncle’s health and well-being, free from illness and disaster."
After reciting blessings they had practiced along the way, the two little ones extended their chubby little hands to Huo Wen’an, smiling sweetly and cutely, saying: "Uncle, congratulations, wishing you wealth, now give us the red envelope!"
Huo Wen’an: "..."
He was completely caught off guard by Huo Jianghe’s children’s antics.
He hadn’t prepared any red envelopes.
Xie Jinyun and Huo Yinting were all wearing smiles as they watched Huo Wen’an looking awkward; even Huo Jianghe laughed, saying, "Nian Nian, Junjun, you startled uncle."
"Little brother," Huo Jianghe pointed to his children and spoke to Huo Wen’an: "Would you like a pair of such adorable kids yourself?"
Huo Wen’an rubbed his forehead, "Third brother, are you deliberately trying to embarrass me?"
Huo Jianghe smiled quietly.
At that moment, a figure dressed in a backless white strap dress appeared—it was Xu Xingguang. She walked over to sit beside Huo Wen’an and said to Nian Nian and Junjun: "Call me aunt once more, and aunt will give you toys."
Junjun and Nian Nian immediately called out, "Auntie!"
Xu Xingguang, as if performing magic, conjured two dolls out of thin air.
She gave Junjun a small robotic dog, which she had designed during the interstellar age—a companion-type robotic dog primarily used to accompany children left at home alone, elderly without caregivers, and visually impaired individuals requiring guidance.
For Nian Nian, she gave a bright and shiny necklace.
Xu Xingguang carefully placed the necklace around Nian Nian’s neck, saying, "This necklace is actually a disguised locator device."
She lightly tapped the necklace pendant three times, causing it to automatically open and reveal a pinhole camera.
Pointing at the camera, Xu Xingguang instructed Nian Nian: "Nian Nian, remember to wear this when going out to play. If you encounter danger, gently tap the pendant three times, and it will record your location and the faces of any bad people, sending them to your guardian."
"Do you like it?"
Nian Nian nodded vigorously, saying: "It’s sparkly, I really like it."
Meanwhile, Junjun, upon receiving the little dog, found that it was warm to the touch. Excitedly, he turned to his dad, Huo Jianghe, and said, "Dad, this little dog heats up!"
Huo Jiangyun took the robotic dog from Junjun, studied it for a while, and discovered that the dog held hidden mysteries within.
It turned out to be a super-intelligent companion-type robotic dog, equipped with a more comprehensive and advanced ’emotion simulation system’ than the market’s AI products.
In simple terms, it can perceive the user’s emotions and respond with the most considerate comfort based on those emotions.
In recent times, the domestic scientific research domain has hit a bottleneck, with technology at a standstill. If they can uncover the secrets of this dog’s internal chip and further develop it, they might be able to break through the bottleneck and create their own super-intelligent chip!
Huo Jianghe was beside himself with joy. "Sister-in-law, thank you for your generous gift!"
He called her sister-in-law with genuine sincerity.
Xu Xingguang waved her hand dismissively, saying, "Just a small gesture."
Huo Jianghe gave her a deep look, filled with admiration.
Xingguang’s small dog could easily fetch a sky-high patent fee from any country or research company if sold. Yet she gave it freely to him.
She was paving the way for him.
Huo Jiangyun smiled warmly and praised, "You are magnanimous, sister-in-law."
This birthday banquet wasn’t grand but was rather ceremonious, a rare family reunion within the Huo Family in recent years.
During the gathering, no one was foolish enough to bring up Huo Yunsheng and his equally absent-minded second son, Huo Wenbei.
After a few rounds of drinks, Huo Canghai took the initiative to announce the happy news about Huo Wen’an and Xu Xingguang. "On October 18th, make sure to clear your schedules and come to Divine Concealment Island to attend the wedding of Wen An and Xingguang."
Upon hearing this, although Huo Yinting and the others felt a bit surprised, they weren’t shocked.
That Huo Wen’an would marry Xu Xingguang was well-known among the elite circles of Xia Country; they just didn’t expect it to happen so urgently.
"Congratulations, little brother! Welcome sister-in-law to join the Huo Family."
Xu Xingguang and Huo Wen’an graciously accepted their blessings.
After lunch, Huo Yinting got busy with work and left Moon Palace, and Huo Jiangyun too was occupied; he left the pair of children on Divine Concealment Island, asking Huo Canghai and Andariel to look after them for a few days, before heading off.
Huo Canghai looked at the two chubby children and said, "Let your big brother take you to practice archery and horseback riding."
’Big brother,’ Song Chi, replied expressionlessly, "I don’t know how to take care of kids."
Huo Canghai asked, "Are you and Bai Xi not planning to have children?"
Huo Canghai was well aware of Song Chi’s affairs.
Seizing the opportunity, Song Chi asked Huo Canghai, "Then, do you agree to let me marry her?"
Huo Canghai countered, "What if I don’t agree?"
Without hesitation, Song Chi replied, "Then I’ll leave Divine Concealment Island and be an orphan." As a carefree wanderer accustomed to freedom, he didn’t care whether the Huo Family wanted him or not.
Huo Canghai coldly huffed, displeased as he glanced at Huo Wen’an. "Both one and the other, they’re all the same."
