Master's Untamed Wife

Chapter 1353 I'll Give You An Answer

Chapter 1353  I’ll Give You An Answer

“Brother Danhong, how can you treat me like this?” asked Lin Qiao. “Don’t forget that I’m friends with Lanhua! What are you gonna tell her after treating me like this?”

“This is my hospital, I can do whatever I want,” replied Gou Danhong. “You can tell Lanhua whatever you want as well. But even she can’t change my decision. You should be glad that I’m the one doing it. Because this hospital is as much of Chenyan as it is of mine. She also has the right to make you disappear from here if she wants to and if she hasn’t done that yet, it only shows that she has been treating you very nicely until now but you clearly don’t appreciate it at all.”

“I didn’t say anything wrong!” yelled Lin Qiao. “You niece is a curse! You should also stay away from her. Why do you think Lanhua always doesn’t want her to come over to your place? It’s because she also knows what kind of bad luck this woman is.”

Xia Hao also walked over and tried to stop the security as he said, “Uncle Hong, my mother is just worried about Dad and might have said something she shouldn’t have. Please, let it slide this once.”

Gou Danhong had no reaction when he heard his pleading. His eyes were on Xia Zhao as if waiting to see his response and his lips curled up a little when he realized that Xia Zhao had no such intention at all.

“Brother,” Xia Hao turned to Xia Zhao too. “Say something.”

“Your mother said so much that she has left me with no words now,” replied Xia Zhao. “Don’t expect too much from me. Rather than wasting time here, you should go and see Dad. He is awake now.”

Xia Hao was left in a dilemma now. On one side was his mother and on the other side… Argh! Why was this happening to him? Did he make a mistake by calling his brother over to see their father? Where did he go wrong? He obviously knew that his mother had said something wrong. Something very wrong and he accepted that she was the one in the wrong. But no matter what she was still his mother. He couldn’t condemn her like his brother too. There was no bond to speak of between his brother and his mother. However, he was really raised by his mother’s side. So, there was some love and attachment between them that he couldn’t just ignore or let go of.

He was feeling so tired right now being stuck in between all of this.

“Brother Danhong, I will sue your hospital for treating a patient’s family like this. I’ll make your hospital infamous. Mark my words!” shouted Lin Qiao.

“Please do so,” said Gou Jinjin who had been standing behind her grandfather silently until now. “But Madam Lin Qiao, before you do that, you’ll be getting a letter from our lawyer too. One for disrupting the hospital’s affairs with your hysterical act which has been recorded faithfully by our CCTV cameras. Two for all the verbal nonsense you just threw at my aunt. I assure you, I won’t let any of this slide.”

Lin Qiao was still shouting but getting annoyed, the security shut her mouth and dragged her out. Behind them, Mu Chenyan looked at her Uncle and then at her niece before saying, “You don’t have to do this.” She didn’t say this to anyone in particular but she seemed to have said this to the both of them.

“But we do have to,” said Gou Jinjin. “She attacked not just you but also our hospital. I can’t let this go. I’m your niece and I’m equally stubborn. Besides, she indeed disrupted the hospital. This is the VVIP floor. We have important patients here. If I won’t do it, I’ll have to give them an answer for the disruption they had to face. After all, they came her to rest and recover in peaceful and comfortable environment. We can’t just let anyone ruin that because of their status. We have to make a statement to let our patients know that we are very dedicated towards them.”

“All that formal nonsense could be translated into; I’m petty. I want to hurt her.”

Gou Jinjin pursed her lips before smiling at her, “Well, you can say that too.”

“Uncle…”

Before Mu Chenyan could say anything, Gou Danhong held up his hand. “Chenyan, don’t say anything to me right now. I’m sorry!”

“For what?”

“For not knowing what your aunt had been thinking about you. I always knew that she had some opinion towards you but I never thought her opinion would be so strong. I’m genuinely sorry for that.”

“Why are you being so serious about it? I’m alright.”

“You might be but I am not,” replied Gou Danhong. “I’ll give you an answer for this.”

“Uncle,” Mu Chenyan held him back. “You’re old so is she now. I don’t think there is a point in digging up old matters. I don’t want you to do anything. I didn’t suffer any injustice in life. Do I look like I’d swallow it if I had been subjected to any injustice?”

Gou Danhong stared at her in silence, not knowing how to face her. In fact, he had long been afraid to face her. He always felt guilty towards his own niece. He couldn’t bring her home to raise her because his wife didn’t want that. And in the end, someone with no blood relation took his niece in and raised her better than he ever could. He didn’t know how was he supposed to face his sister in the underground. What would he tell her that he couldn’t even do anything for her one and only daughter?

And now he was being told that his wife didn’t just dislike his niece but practically hated her. Why else would she speak such nonsense about her with a stranger? He had only one niece in this world and even she was like a thorn to his wife. Did he really do a mistake in understanding the woman who had been sleeping with him in the same bed for so long? Or did he see the signs and never took them seriously?

No matter what it was, it was a fact that he hurt his niece.
