Master of Strange Dao
Chapter 1880 - 513: Rushing Toward Oblivion, The Blade Remains Unfallen
"Can you see any changes over there?"
"I can't see anything; it's murky and hazy, nothing is clear.
Not being able to see means nothing is settled; everything is still unknown.
You'd better not rush to bring back the part you took.
Wait until the River of Time stabilizes again and the murkiness disperses."
"Alright, I'm not in a hurry. Has that guy returned?"
"He's already back. He probably knows by now that going mad won't help, he can't drag everyone into extinction together."
"Who knows if he won't try again; as long as he doesn't stop, it won't end.
He no longer prepares for the future, he just needs to come back like this every now and then.
Even if he can't control or alter things to his advantage, he's accumulating an advantage.
But so are we.
We can only continue to stalemate like this, with no sight of the future."
"As long as he bears the Kan character, he'll always be stuck, there's nothing we can do."
"I need to think."
Shi actively severed the contact, and Yu Ziqing continued to wait here.
He received a blessing at this moment and began to continue to comprehend the opportunity.
The Dayan Preface is really a good thing, though difficult to cultivate, it holds no combat power.
Yet the enhancements it brings, whether helping in cultivation, comprehension, or any task, are almost universally applicable.
Not only does it have extremely powerful information processing capabilities, super perception, but also an immense ability to endure.
Yu Ziqing waited quietly, for an unknown period, until he sensed another petal of the Undying Mandala wither.
Only then did Yu Ziqing speak.
"The withered part, rather than letting it collapse, can I have it?
If it affects you, then forget it."
The Undying Mandala ignored Yu Ziqing; instead, most of the massive withered petal collapsed and disappeared, with only a tiny part drifting toward Yu Ziqing.
Yu Ziqing waved and collected it.
"Thank you."
What this thing is useful for, Yu Ziqing doesn't know; he'll slowly try it later. Anyway, nothing from the Immortal Herbs is worthless.
Yu Ziqing shut his eyes and resumed his secluded cultivation.
Above the River of Time, the form of the Ancient Sea God continuously changed, no longer having a stable shape.
His form kept changing with his mindset.
A strong force of emotion surged from within him, a reservoir built from his gathered forms, along with more accumulated from other places over the days.
The illusory flower atop his head was on the verge of blooming, yet it was stuck there, unmoving, only continually gathering power.
That power, he already sensed.
But unfortunately, all he could do was sense it.
He had no avenue.
He now realized why his disposition was increasingly unstable over the years, why his consciousness grew erratic, and why he instinctively gathered those external forms.
He confirmed that if he hadn't fused all the powers back then, hadn't consolidated all forms, letting them continuously split into countless pieces.
Then, this wouldn't be a trump card letting him exist freely on every ripple of the River of Time, but exposing his weakness.
Once the power within him fully erupted, it would indiscriminately spread and infect every one of his manifestations.
And no single manifestation could withstand this force; a force he could only feel, yet remained entirely helpless against and unable to eliminate.
That energy rooted deeply in his heart, born of his consciousness.
To eradicate it, there were only two choices.
One, for his consciousness to be wiped away.
Two, to allow that force to erupt.
He couldn't accomplish the first method himself.
Only the second remained.
He grew ever more fearful of that force, that continued to build, growing stronger.
Without its eruption, the fear consumed him, his heart forever suspended.
He was beginning to wish for the power to erupt now, accepting any outcome, knowing he wouldn't die anyway.
The River of Time slowly calmed down, returning to its usual state.
The waters that were so murky that nothing could be seen, gradually became clear, yet maintained a certain limit, unable to become fully transparent again.
Because a significant part of the present world had been taken by Yu Ziqing, sealed by the Undying Mandala.
At this moment, there was no return, no activation; everything related remained unknown.
The Ancient Sea God did nothing, merely stood there, waiting, watching.
At this point, Shi reconnected with Yu Ziqing.
"The River of Time has stabilized again.
He's back and has sensed the power you planted on him.
That force has reached the blooming stage, stuck at that stage, yet the energy continues to accumulate.
Moreover, I've sensed his fear.
He can't wait for that power to bloom now.
The suspense is what's making him restless."
"Oh, something like this..." Yu Ziqing's eyes lit up. Indeed, a hanging blade above one's head yields the best effect when it doesn't fall.
It wouldn't be as frightening when the blade finally falls on one's neck.
"No rush, hold on a bit longer, accumulate more, I already have an idea."
"As long as you have an idea..." Shi silently breathed a sigh of relief.
He'd been here for far too long, long enough for his thoughts to stagnate, no longer as they once were.
Having lost his body, Divine Soul, True Name, and everything, leaving only consciousness, the impact was substantial.
The longer the time, the more it would petrify.
Shi was thrilled by the broad subjects Yu Ziqing opened because it was the only fresh thing he'd encountered since arriving here.
Having finished their exchange, Yu Ziqing closed his eyes and continued to wait.
He was just enduring now, waiting for the Ancient Sea God to break under the pressure, his mindset fully collapsing, before lightly nudging him.
Before then, he needed to ponder how to have a conversation with those inside, without letting the land return or peering into its secrets, keeping the unknown and uncertainty intact.
He wanted to find out the situation within, and if any alterations had occurred.
Coincidentally, he had some ideas, needing someone to carry them out.
