Chapter 1875 - 512: Just Friends, a Transaction

The Heavenly Monarch's movements paused slightly as he turned his head to glance at Yu Ziqing.

"I know her. She... is my... closest friend, I suppose. She fell long, long ago."

Yu Ziqing understood. He'd known it—back then, when he dug Yu Shengqin out from here, turning a human's remains into the Fourth Ancient Demon, it definitely wasn't a coincidence.

Maybe he wouldn't have thought too much of it back then, but now he knew about this line that stretched from the Extreme North all the way into the Void.

It was equivalent to blocking off a huge passage between the incomplete present world and the Void, cutting inside from outside.

In a place this important, how could just anyone be buried here? There was absolutely no way just anyone could sit here waiting for the chance to become the Fourth Ancient Demon, to have their consciousness awaken.

If you said the Mountain Lord couldn't have thought this far ahead and wouldn't make these decisions on his own, Yu Ziqing could half believe that.

But those other old monsters of the "Jun" generation...

If you said none of them did this, Yu Ziqing could believe that.

If you said all of them were completely unaware, Yu Ziqing absolutely did not believe it.

Yu Ziqing looked at the Mountain Lord, whose eyes were full of clear confusion.

Obviously, he didn't know the inside story.

A lot must have happened in the middle of all this.

"Back then, when I sensed the Ancient Demons awaken, my original intent was to use them against Jiu Nian.

At the time, four Ancient Demons appeared. The Fourth Ancient Demon was the one I found here.

Her name was Yu Shengqin. She was very weak back then, so I brought her back with me.

She's been recuperating with me ever since."

Yu Ziqing gave a brief explanation. The Heavenly Monarch's expression turned a little dazed.

"She... has always been here?"

"Yeah, she's always been here."

"Her Mausoleum is in the Sorrow Cave Heaven."

"..." Yu Ziqing slanted a look at the Heavenly Monarch. Why did that sound so weird?

Her Mausoleum is in the Sorrow Cave Heaven—are you going there to be buried together with her?

She wasn't even in the Sorrow Cave Heaven, and you didn't know?

And you call that a closest friend.

Not honest at all.

"What I heard back then was that her fleshly body collapsed, body and soul destroyed.

That Grotto Heaven was the Mausoleum she chose for herself.

She said using a better Grotto Heaven would be too much of a waste.

A Grotto Heaven with no real value like that was just right to use as a Mausoleum.

It's just that..."

Yu Ziqing gave him face and didn't say anything.

The Heavenly Monarch looked toward the Mountain Lord, hoping to pry something from his mouth.

The Mountain Lord just curled his lip.

"Don't look at me, I don't know anything.

For something like this, I definitely wouldn't have sealed away any corresponding information.

Stop staring and hurry up and work.

Once you're done, go do whatever you're supposed to do.

As long as you don't go all out, you should be able to stay awakened for quite a long time."

The Heavenly Monarch broke into a smile and nodded to Yu Ziqing in gratitude.

Because Yu Ziqing existed, he didn't have to wake up only to immediately carry out the prearranged task.

This trump card might never even get a chance to be used.

He now had a chance, a possibility, to see her one more time.

Even now, while mobilizing power, his whole spirit felt different.

Yu Ziqing stayed silent, mulling it over inside.

If the Heavenly Monarch and Yu Shengqin were just pure closest friends, Yu Ziqing would gladly twist his own head off and use it as a chamber pot.

Damn it, the Heavenly Monarch guarded the Mausoleum Yu Shengqin chose and went to be buried together with her.

Yu Shengqin was buried inside this mountain range formed from the Heavenly Monarch's spine, guarding this place.

Could these two be any more saccharine?

Closest friends, my ass.

He never expected that this thick-browed, straight-looking Heavenly Monarch Luoge was playing this game too.

If not for the black cloth over his eyes, his eyes would have rolled right back into his skull.

He just waited quietly like that, watching the Heavenly Monarch draw out the power.

At the end of the Extreme North, a howling gale roared in. Using this vast mountain range as a guide, its power was drawn out by the Heavenly Monarch.

A strand of wild wind transformed into the form of Divine Light. With a point of the Heavenly Monarch's finger, it fell into the Duster Handle in Yu Ziqing's hand.

On one of the empty slots, Divine Light flared, and within it a Xun Character emerged.

After the Heavenly Monarch finished, he looked at Yu Ziqing and the Mountain Lord.

"This is all I can do."

"It's already crucial."

The Heavenly Monarch's expression was already a little hard to hide. Clearly in a rush to leave, yet still lingering here.

Yu Ziqing took out a waist token and handed it to the Heavenly Monarch.

"Take this to Dadui. Someone there will contact you."

"Many thanks."

Taking the waist token, the Heavenly Monarch still didn't rush off and kept waiting.

The Mountain Lord couldn't stand it anymore.

"You're still short two."

"Wait a bit."

Yu Ziqing waved his hand, opened up the Dao Court, and brought the Duster Handle inside. He just tapped it lightly against the ground of the Dao Court.

At once, the seventh slot lit up with a halo.

He hadn't cultivated the Treasure Technique corresponding to the Kun Character, but it didn't matter, because he was similar to the Mountain Lord.

Borrowing the power of the Kun Character, he didn't need to look at anyone's face or consider anyone's opinion.

Walking out of the Dao Court, he saw that within the Divine Light of the seventh slot, there didn't seem to be any character emerging.

He brushed a hand across it, Five-Colored Divine Light rippling, and inside a Kun Character lit up.

Yu Ziqing understood; just as he'd thought, with the Dao Court as the foundation and the Kun Character as the root, the Advanced Divine Skills after that indeed carried the power of the Kun Character.

He more or less understood how the first generation of Dynasty Skills came about.

This wasn't something painstakingly researched and created by humans in the first place; it was something of the same nature as a Divine Skill.

He held the Duster Handle, on which all seven slots were now lit.

He could feel that with a single thought, he could wield the power of all seven characters at once.

But if he wanted to take away all places other than the deep sea in one go, it still felt like he was a long way off.

Yu Ziqing glanced at the two remaining slots, didn't waste any time, and had the Mountain Lord bring him, borrowing the Abyss as a passage, to the Immovable Continent.
