"The man had already started to plant and grow mushrooms called spore trap mushrooms. He was newly brought in from some of the mushroom farms in the demi-human territory. He knew that the air would be filled with spores and make a lot of people sick if there was not a solution."

Walker was speaking very animatedly to Alma. He’d made another of his golem bodies who had been with Midnight come here and speak to her so she was able to hear things as they developed. It helped her remain calm and he had been able to catch her as she tried to sneak away to walk wherever she thought she should go.

"The others working there had begun to delve in to monsters as a chance to bring out the most in the thick skin mushroom houses they were growing. They were entirely forgetting that they were in the middle of a residential area." Walker also didn’t hide his annoyance that he was dealing with that.

However, when he explained the punishments, Alma looked happier. Especially since they were enough that it would leave a lasting effect on the foolish researchers and experimenters.

Yet, she also kept listening as Walker explained even more.

The golem body with the mushroom farmer was currently watching him plant another set of small spore balls in some rotten wood.

"The carved bits of oak and maple are perfect to grow smaller mushrooms for testing. They have just enough nutrients to grow but not enough to poison the air or damage anything. These people here don’t think much with their papers and books. They need to try the real stuff first."

The man still hadn’t given his proper name and appeared not to care to do so at all. Instead, it seemed that he was going to just keep working and showing off to Walker like he was instructing a student or new farm hand.

Walker didn’t have an issue with that since he could record everything down as notes later. That way all of this useful knowledge would help.

"Pour out some fertilizer water that runs off the heaps of fertilizer and that dark mana soaks right in to rot the wood scrapings and dusts. Then you will have new mushrooms in a couple of days. You can speed that much along, though. Use the humid mist skill."

The farmer opened his palms toward the spores and a small warm mist moved all around where he had just prepared the ground.

It also seemed to be bringing some life mana along too, but Walker was certain that the farmer did not realize this. It was a skill that he had used his whole life for mushrooms and general growth. He knew it worked and he kept his thoughts simple on that matter. As long as it did as it needed, he was the sort of man that would accept it and trust it without asking a million questions.

The mentality was very impressive to Walker. This man had already achieved his ambitions in farming and would continue with them as long as he breathed. Otherwise, he did not need to push for philosophical answers about why his skills worked or anything deeper.

"Those growing won’t need much. They have much more intention to grow and be plucked when they spit out spores to keep growing themselves. You use a little twig and grab spores in to a ball and start again."

"All of these mushrooms are very useful. I can see why you brought the spores here."

Walker was still speaking to Alma as well and he knew that she was also impressed. The farmer glanced up and nodded.

"Much of what I have is useful. Just need the right kind of hands to do the work. Kids like those over there should have grown things like this nice and small before all those arrests. Mixing these with the others will go much better." Walker felt that meeting this man gave a lot of interesting information about what else he could learn within the other farms’ testing areas.

"I think I have seen enough and I have told Alma enough to make a full decision." Walker stood taller, completely capturing the attention of the farmer.

"You have perfect common sense. You are careful for the safety of the people within the underground. You are very knowledgeable about mushrooms. I would like you to approve or deny every experimental attempt at making better mushroom homes within the city of Genesis and eventually to be sold later. Until this project ends, you will need to approve everything." Walker used some mana to pull up a small stamp of stone.

"I made this stamp out of stone and it will be the seal of approval. If the mark on this is not on the scroll, it is not allowed to be followed through on. If it is ignored, then the guards present will be able to arrest those involved. Good luck here, I believe that you will have results sooner than many others would."

The farmer grinned slightly while looking through his overalls for more spores.

"You seem much more down to earth than I thought heroes would be. Much better. Good head on your shoulders for a kid. Much better. I will work much harder now." The farmer started working again, but this time the couple of nearby guards moved to support him and bring over a few more of the workers on this project to hear the new rules.

"I think you handled that very well, Walker. You are very good at this. I bet there will be a lot of people with better homes soon. I never heard of silk shrooms. They must be harder to grow in the fields of the demi-human territory but better off here in the caverns." Alma was done listening to what Walker had told her as he’d used both golem bodies at the same time.

"I agree, I didn’t expect that I could use the multiple golem bodies like this. If anyone is in this situation, injured or can not be somewhere, then I can be the direct link. It’s better than a communication crystal. There might be some unique mental communication skills that do better, but I haven’t heard of them yet." Walker shrugged and heard the sound of Gil dashing through the halls.

"Good! You’re still here. Walker, can you go help out with a broken cart downstairs? Someone decided they were going to see if they could throw a spear through the spokes of a wheel before they moved ahead too soon." Gil asked Walker because of his skills, but Walker also caught the glimmer of something else in Gil’s eyes.

He wanted to be alone with Alma to tell her about what else he’d done and generally just spend time. "You don’t have to ask, it will be done before you even realize it has happened."

He laughed at Walker but kept moving toward Alma with a heavy stack of papers in hand. It seemed that Gil had found a bunch of good things and needed to explain them clearly. He also seemed to have picked up a couple more nourishing teas and potions from Remey’s alchemy lab for Alma.

With this matter helped and handled, Walker had two golem bodies free to explore and move. He wasn’t sure what else he could find but wanted to look deeper.

There was the wilderness he could go explore more. Plenty of unknowns out there. But he also wanted to grab some supplies and store them away to trade in the elemental planes. He was heading there with Su soon after all.
