Marvel: Reincarnated as Superman
Chapter 51: Unexpected Friendship (bonus)
Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Unexpected Friendship (bonus)
As usual, Tony made his way up to the rooftop.
Ever since he had started attending college here, he had developed a habit of coming up at night whenever he had time. He liked being alone, sitting beneath the open sky and quietly gazing at the stars.
The vast, endless universe above always helped him relax, letting the tension drain from both his body and mind.
As the entire dormitory building had been funded by the Stark family, so Tony naturally got a few special privileges.
For example, he had a private room all to himself.
And this rooftop? It was essentially his personal space.
The key to the rooftop door was in Tony’s possession alone. Nobody else was supposed to be able to get up here.
So, the moment he pushed open the door and stepped out, he froze.
Not far away, two boys and a girl were sitting together, enthusiastically eating shrimps.
The scene was lively enough to leave him staring and among them, Tony immediately recognized one face.
Wasn’t that the guy who had sent him flying twice?
Daniel.
Tony’s impression of Daniel was still incredibly vivid, mainly because both times had hurt like hell.
"Why are you guys up here?" Tony asked bluntly.
Seeing strangers occupying what he considered his private space instantly put him in a bad mood. The three people who had been eating happily also stopped and looked over.
T’Challa and Susan both turned their eyes toward Daniel. Their expressions clearly conveyed the same message. Wasn’t this supposed to be the place where nobody would bother us?
An awkward silence immediately settled over the rooftop, as nobody spoke for a while.
"Uh... hey."
Daniel forced a smile and awkwardly greeted him. He had been having such a good time eating that he hadn’t even noticed someone approaching. Now he was completely unprepared for this situation.
Tony didn’t respond, he simply walked over and stopped in front of them.
Beside the group, another batch of shrimp was still simmering away. The rich aroma drifted through the air. Tony inhaled unconsciously and suddenly, he realized he was a little hungry.
"What are you guys eating?" he asked.
"Shrimps. Want some?" Daniel offered, holding one out toward him.
Tony looked at the small crustacean with visible disdain.
"I never eat these types of shrimps, they are just small and taste bad."
He lifted his chin slightly.
"The shrimps I usually eat are much bigger and tastier than this. Carabineros prawn shrimps, flown in directly from Australia."
While saying that, however, his hands were already moving. Without bothering with gloves, he grabbed one and ate it.
"Huh... not bad."
After a brief pause, he added, "Still not as good as a burger."
Even at this age, Tony had already developed his lifelong love for burgers, he glanced at the massive pile of food.
"Move over. There’s no way the three of you can finish all that."
He sat down without waiting for permission.
"Since I’m joining, I won’t kick you out."
T’Challa frowned as Tony inserted himself into their gathering. After all, he’d personally cleaned all those shrimps, he deserved some credit.
When he’d been washing them, the pile had seemed enormous. Now that he was eating them, however, he felt there still wasn’t enough.
"The rooftop isn’t yours," T’Challa said. "Why would you get to kick people out?"
Tony immediately grinned.
"I told you the last time we met. My family donated this building."
He pointed around himself.
"The college gave me access to this rooftop in return. I’m the only student in the entire college who has a key to this place."
His grin widened.
"Honestly, I haven’t even complained about you trespassing on a private property."
Then he added smugly, "I could call the police."
T’Challa fell silent.
Looking at Tony’s irritatingly proud expression, he suddenly felt a powerful urge to donate an entire building himself.
’I have money too,’ he thought.
"Alright, enough," Daniel said. "He can join."
Since Daniel had spoken, T’Challa didn’t argue further.
He simply grabbed another shrimp and continued eating, but with Tony added to the group, the atmosphere changed.
The three of them weren’t particularly familiar with him yet. The laughter and easy conversation from earlier gradually faded.
Tony, on the other hand, seemed completely oblivious, he ate enthusiastically while offering commentary.
"Hmm... too greasy."
A few minutes later, he was already struggling.
"Got anything to drink?" Tony asked.
"There’s Coke. Pour it yourself."
Tony nodded and grabbed a bottle. After taking a long drink, he frowned.
"Coke isn’t satisfying enough."
He shook the bottle.
"What this needs is alcohol."
"We couldn’t buy any," Daniel said helplessly. "We’re underage."
Truthfully, he had wanted some alcohol too. The problem was that nobody would sell it to them. Tony then stood up.
"Wait here."
He tossed out those two words and disappeared through the rooftop door.
A few minutes later, he returned carrying a bag. With a triumphant grin, he lifted it up.
"Problem solved."
Inside were two bottles of whiskey. Daniel’s eyes immediately lit up.
Tony was impressive, he’d actually managed to get alcohol.
Susan, who was against alcohol declined to drink. That left the three boys, each pouring themselves a glass.
"Come on."
Tony raised his glass.
"Cheers."
The whiskey burned pleasantly as it went down. All three of them immediately let out satisfied sighs.
"Now that’s good."
The spicy heat from the shrimp instantly felt more manageable. Combined with the whiskey, the food somehow tasted even better.
Their combat effectiveness against shrimp increased by at least one hundred percent.
As the alcohol disappeared, the atmosphere became lively once again, after all, they were teenage boys.
And once alcohol entered the picture, friendships formed surprisingly fast.
Tony no longer cared about Daniel launching him across the hallway before. Daniel no longer felt awkward about it either.
A few drinks later, old grudges were forgotten.
The two exchanged smiles, and the matter was settled. As time passed, the whiskey bottles gradually emptied, the stacks of shrimp shrank as well.
In fact, most of the remaining food ended up in the stomachs of those three.
Susan had already finished eating long ago. Now she sat nearby with a smile, quietly watching the increasingly drunk trio boast and brag about everything.
Most of her attention remained fixed on Daniel. For some reason, she found him rather cute right now.
His cheeks were slightly red from the alcohol, and he was talking much more than usual.
And every expression on his face seemed more vivid than normal.
Eventually, the conversation drifted to T’Challa’s failed confession earlier that day. Daniel wasn’t the one who brought it up.
T’Challa did.
Or rather, drunk T’Challa did.
The moment he started talking about it, both Tony and Susan burst into laughter. Tony wrapped an arm around T’Challa’s shoulders.
"Dude, just forget about it."
He patted him sympathetically.
"Tomorrow’s on me."
His eyes sparkled.
"I’ll take you guys to a bar. Plenty of girls there."
Daniel blinked.
"Won’t they check our age?"
Tony laughed loudly.
"Only if you’re stupid enough to tell them."
He waved a dismissive hand.
"Who cares? They’re making money either way."
"I want to go too."
Susan suddenly spoke up. Tony immediately shook his head.
"Girls probably shouldn’t come."
He pointed at himself and the others.
"This is a guys’ outing."
Susan narrowed her eyes.
"Oh?"
Her tone instantly became dangerous.
"So, women can’t go to bars?"
She folded her arms.
"Are you looking down on women?"
The truth was, Susan was starting to dislike Tony, this guy was trying to drag Daniel to a bar.
A bar!
Those places were chaotic and full of trouble. If Daniel went there, who knew what kind of bad habits he’d pick up?
She certainly wasn’t comfortable with these three running off together, especially Tony.
Judging by how familiar he sounded, he clearly wasn’t a first-timer. He’d definitely been to plenty of bars before and now he wanted to corrupt Daniel too.
"No, no."
Tony immediately surrendered, he had no interest in debating this topic.
"Fine. You can come too."
Satisfied, Susan nodded and the matter was settled.
...
By the end of the night, all three boys were thoroughly drunk.
Not a single one of them was capable of cleaning up the battlefield of items scattered across the rooftop.
In the end, Susan was forced to clean everything by herself.
After she finished tidying up, the three drunken idiots staggered downstairs with their arms slung over each other’s shoulder.
Susan watched them leave before returning to her own dormitory. Overall, everyone had enjoyed the shrimp feast immensely.
It had been a very successful gathering.
...
The next day, however, their bar trip never happened. Daniel and T’Challa were fine.
Neither of them were an ordinary person, and the large amount of food barely affected them.
But Susan and Tony were another story. Neither had ever eaten that much oily food before.
So, when they had stuffed themselves with such a ridiculous number of shrimps, their mouths had enjoyed the experience, but their stomachs absolutely had not, especially Tony.
He practically spent the entire day in the bathroom, as a result, the planned trip to the bar was canceled.
T’Challa found this deeply disappointing, he had actually been looking forward to it.
Before meeting Tony, he had never been to a bar even once. There weren’t any in Wakanda.
And when he spent time with Daniel, neither of them had ever thought about visiting one.
But after hearing Tony enthusiastically describe how many girls could be found there, T’Challa’s interest had immediately been sparked.
At this moment, he desperately needed the comfort of female companionship, his wounded heart demanded healing.
