Marvel: Reincarnated as Superman
Chapter 35: Trying Suits
Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Trying Suits
After waiting in the design room for a little over an hour, Pavel glanced at his tablet before looking up at Daniel and Carol.
"The clothes are ready. Follow me."
The moment they heard the news, both Daniel and Carol jumped up from the sofa and hurried after him.
The king and T’Challa followed as well.
The king, however, wasn’t looking particularly happy.
He had been completely ignored.
A king.... the King of Wakanda.
And somehow nobody had remembered he was even there.
’This guy really doesn’t know how to handle people,’ the king grumbled inwardly.
The more he thought about it, the more annoyed he became.
’That’s it. I’ll transfer Pavel to the Vibranium mines.’
’Completely lacking in awareness!’
Meanwhile, Pavel, who was leading the group, had no idea he was already being targeted.
When the transfer notice arrived someday, he’d probably stare at it in total confusion.
Neither Daniel nor Carol cared about any of that.
Both were eager to see the finished products.
Carol, especially, had learned how valuable Vibranium was and was extremely curious about what it felt like to wear something worth a fortune.
As for Daniel’s lengthy explanations about Vibranium’s performance characteristics...
She hadn’t absorbed much of it.
The only thing she remembered was one sentence.
One gram of Vibranium was worth ten thousand dollars.
That statement alone had practically made her eyes glow.
Ten thousand dollars per gram!
How much would an entire outfit be worth?
’This is amazing.’
Carol’s imagination immediately started running wild.
’If I ever run out of money, I can just chip off a tiny corner of the suit and live comfortably for months!’
After all, how much money had she and Daniel spent during this trip?
Even including the money John had given them, they only had about two thousand dollars.
Yet they had managed to enjoy nearly a week in New York with it.
’I’ll never have to worry about travel money again.’
Carol couldn’t help grinning.
’And if I run out, I’ll just take a piece from Daniel’s suit. Hahaha!’
Unfortunately, there was one small problem.
She probably couldn’t tear it apart.
When Daniel had explained Vibranium earlier, she’d been too focused on its value to pay attention to how durable it actually was.
Daniel, on the other hand, probably could rip it apart if he really wanted to.
But if they were ever broke, would he destroy his own suit?
Of course not.
He’d definitely destroy Carol’s first.
Before long, they arrived at the display area and saw the finished products.
The moment Carol picked up her uniform, she immediately rushed off to change into it.
Daniel wasn’t in such a hurry.
He carefully examined the clothes in his hands.
The shirt was a simple white T-shirt.
The pants were light blue jeans.
Both were styles he normally wore.
Grabbing the fabric, he casually pulled it.
The clothes remained completely intact.
"Very nice."
Daniel nodded in satisfaction.
For anyone else, that test would’ve been meaningless.
But Daniel’s current strength was already absurd.
Even using only some of his power meant exerting hundreds of thousands of tons of force.
Most materials would’ve been shredded instantly.
Normally, he could control his strength well enough in daily life.
But whenever his emotions fluctuated, the things around him often paid the price.
Now things were different.
With this Vibranium outfit, he wouldn’t need to be so cautious all the time.
The suit’s natural resistance acted like a restraint against his body, helping him regulate his power more effectively.
Soon afterward, Daniel went to change as well.
He was considerably faster than Carol.
In fact, they ended up emerging almost at the same time.
When Daniel saw Carol wearing the Air Force uniform, he paused for a second.
It suited her surprisingly well.
It was sharp, confident and heroic.
The uniform perfectly matched her personality.
As for Daniel...
Well, being handsome made life easy.
Everything looked good on him.
After moving around for a bit, he confirmed his earlier assumption.
The Vibranium clothing really did help him control his strength.
Because the material remained firmly against his skin, he could actually feel resistance when exerting force.
Unlike ordinary clothes, which exploded the moment he pushed too hard, this outfit provided constant feedback.
Both of them were extremely satisfied with the results.
Meanwhile, Daniel had already started thinking ahead.
’Looks like I’ll have to visit Wakanda every year.’
Right now he only had a spring and summer outfit.
When winter arrived, he wasn’t afraid of the cold, but walking around in a T-shirt while everyone else wore thick coats would look ridiculous.
And even if the suit technically never needed washing, wearing the same clothes every day would definitely make people judge him.
’There’s still so much I’m missing...’
His thoughts drifted further.
’A proper trench coat.’
’A tailored suit.’
’Dress shirts.’
’Maybe I should come several times a year. Otherwise it’ll take forever to complete my collection.’
After testing his casual clothes, Daniel decided it was finally time to try on his combat suit.
While the king was enthusiastically praising how good Carol looked in her uniform, Daniel slipped away to change again.
’This is still kind of inconvenient.’
He couldn’t help but feel a little regretful.
’Wakanda’s technology isn’t advanced enough yet. They don’t have nanotechnology.’
If they did, he could store the suit in a necklace like the future Black Panther and equip it instantly.
One second in civilian clothes.
The next second fully suited up.
How cool would that be?
’Shuri, hurry up and grow up already.’
T’Challa’s younger sister was a genius on par with Tony Stark.
Most of Wakanda’s future technological breakthroughs would come from her.
A few minutes later, Daniel stepped out wearing his combat suit.
The room instantly fell silent.
Carol.
The king.
T’Challa.
Even Pavel.
All of them were stunned.
Because the suit looked incredible.
The dark blue armor like fabric clung perfectly to Daniel’s body, outlining every muscle.
His biceps.
His chest.
His abs.
Everything was highlighted without being excessive.
The suit radiated raw power.
Combined with the blue color scheme and flowing red cape, it was impossible not to look at him.
It felt as though a god of war had descended into the room.
Daniel was extremely pleased with everyone’s reaction.
This was exactly what he’d been aiming for.
"You know..." Carol said after a moment. "That actually looks pretty good."
It was rare for her to compliment him.
The king, T’Challa, and Pavel all nodded in agreement.
"You’re almost as mighty as I was in my youth," the king said with a nostalgic sigh.
Carol looked at his beer belly.
Then at his round face.
Her expression clearly said she didn’t believe a word of it.
Nearby, T’Challa lowered his head and looked at himself.
For the first time, he felt a little self conscious.
’Why am I so skinny?’
He and Daniel were roughly the same age.
Yet standing next to Daniel made him look like a little kid.
It was deeply unfair and incredibly enviable.
Daniel felt fantastic.
Combat suit equipped.
Combat power plus one hundred percent!
No superhero had a soul without a costume.
Just putting it on completely changed a person’s aura.
He immediately asked Pavel to bring over a mirror.
Then he spent several minutes admiring himself shamelessly.
After staring at his reflection for a while, though, he felt like something was still missing.
He just couldn’t put his finger on it.
No matter how much he looked.
But he could always improve it later.
Tony had dozens of Iron Man armor versions.
How could Daniel, the Superman, settle for just one style?
This one used blue and red as its primary color.
The next version could be black.
Gold would look cool too.
Red son.
Silver-white.
He wanted to try all of them.
Maybe even a Saint Seiya-inspired armor design.
Or a medieval knight style.
The more ideas he had, the more he realized how many possibilities remained.
’Yeah.’
’From now on, I’ll visit Wakanda every season.’
The thought of appearing in a completely different suit every time made him grin.
The image was so entertaining that he nearly laughed out loud.
Then another thought struck him.
’It’s definitely time to become good friends with T’Challa.’
Daniel’s gaze slowly shifted toward the young prince.
After all, if he wanted to fill an entire wardrobe with Vibranium suits, T’Challa was the key.
The future Black Panther was famously generous to his friends.
Once their friendship level was high enough, getting ten or even twenty Vibranium outfits from him would probably be no big deal.
T’Challa suddenly felt a chill run down his spine.
Daniel was staring at him.
Intensely.
Almost passionately.
He could’ve sworn Daniel’s eyes were glowing.
It felt like something strange might leap out of them at any moment.
The problem was...
They weren’t even close.
Not at all.
Unable to endure the gaze any longer, T’Challa finally spoke.
"Uh... what’s wrong?"
"Why are you staring at me?"
This was only the second time he’d spoken to Daniel.
The question immediately drew everyone’s attention.
Daniel coughed awkwardly.
"Ahem. Nothing. Nothing at all."
He flashed a huge grin.
"I just think we’re a perfect match."
"...Huh?"
T’Challa’s face filled with confusion.
The king’s expression changed dramatically.
’Wait... no way.’
’Does this kid have that kind of preference?’
’What am I supposed to do now?’
’Do I need to have another son at my age?’
Carol stared at Daniel in utter disbelief.
Suddenly, everything made sense.
Daniel was handsome.
Popular.
Yet somehow still single.
Had she just uncovered the truth?
Realizing his words could be misunderstood, Daniel quickly clarified.
"I mean we’d make great friends!"
He flashed a dazzling smile, showing a full set of bright white teeth.
